However, I am new to the area, so I was not informed by the alarm company to register online with the city of Houston. Then 5 months into the contract one of the sensors went bad and kept tripping the alarm. After 3 false alarms the city charged me. I sent the bill to S Cross, since it was faulty equipment that caused it to trip - they said they are not paying the city of Houston. They lost a customer over $50 fee.

They demanded we "upgrade" just to keep the service, and jacked up the price by 78% from the old rate. We put up with this until this month, then found several companies with much better deals and service reputations. When I called Hawk they did not offer to match the lower rates, but insulted me instead and told me I had to pay in advance for June PLUS they would not cancel service for 30 days. I don't usually post reviews but you need to stay away from these guys, they are ALL about money and can't be bothered to even try to be polite.

I learned of AV through our Neighborhood Resident Facebook site and sent a message. Message was promptly answered and date scheduled quickly. Communication was quick and professional with any deviation on ETA. Dex came by, was so very polite and professional. We bought a newer resale who was leaving us her $2000 Cameras and DVR. My hubs tried to connect the system and just couldn't get it to work and he can do anything. We didn't think to check the system being left behind because we never needed this type of security in 25 yrs. Well, Dex gave us the news that the DVR box wasn't working (why hubs couldn't get it hooked up). I think it was the port that was bad. He gave us a quote for another, said our cameras were 1080p so were not bad, but not the best. He went to pick up the new DVD and came to set it up. It was smaller, more compact which I like better and came with a mouse. When we saw the actual camera quality we were sick. You can't see anything. Virtually useless. Dex informed us that if somebody did come up and is caught on camera, the history stays in the DVD so if an intruder showed up it would still be able to be seen on another camera. This was comforting to hear, and we are now going to discuss having Dex come back out for installation of better cameras. Very highly recommended if you need security cameras, or Televisions installed. 5***** for Dex's very professional knowledge and his extremely polite manner.

Edwin takes pride in his work and does very clean installs with excellent cable management. I like that he knows his stuff, and asks questions along the way on my preferences during the install. He needs to bring back my original ring that was brand new because leaving me with a used one that doesn't function and also a hole in my wall is very unprofessional. Would definitely not recommend. Very impressed by these guys. We just purchased a home and were looking for a good local company to install our first security system. Ben (the owner) came over the day we called him for a consult. Everything was fairly straight forward. Two technicians came out on time to do the installation after I made an appointment. As promised, they installed the system in one day! My home size is over 5000 sf and the roof is pretty high! They use their commercial cable and wires instead of using the very thin wires in the box from the system. They explained me that the wires, which they are using are water-resistance wires and it is much better than the system coming with. Being security system newbies, Ben was kind enough to show us through how to use the system, even helped us install the APP in our cell phones. We love the system. The ability to control everything from the app is fantastic.. I feel good about giving my business to these local guys rather than one of the big horrible giants because they are like our friends helping!

He said the costco cameras come in plastic and he has a range of cameras in his warehouse. Anyway, looking a the size of my house he said the costco cabling system will need to be supplemented by his as there are over 100 feet of cables needed per camera. He said he would charge me $100 per camera for installation. Two of his technicans showed up at 9 AM as promised. They looked at my camera cables and all that. They also showed their system of cameras. He specifically demonstrated where the costco camera would break if there are high winds. i decided to go with his metal encased camera and the larger sized ones. He did all the cabling and got in internally into my closet. He also connected everything to my monitor and i had a live system working. i paid $1,200 for labor and 6 cameras. One year warranty. Lets see how it works. Ben is very professional and helpful.
