I have been a customer for over four years and I am so fed up ! A few months ago our alarm was going off for no reasons (several Times ) and we called for someone to come out.... the service man never showed after I sat at home all morning and waited. No call - nothing. So last Monday I called to see how I could get a new Cannon alarm sign for my yard because mine was stolen --- I have not received a sign -- it has been 9 business days. I called yesterday to check on the sign and was redirected and asked to call another number twice. WORST CUSTOMER Service ever !!!! Today, I sent a message online to have my service disconnected and guess what --- no response ! I can't believe this place is still in business !!!! Do not use them for service !!!! They will gladly take your money but if you need assistance , they will do nothing but give you a big headache !!! read more

The company was in the contract to pre-wire my home cameras by cable RG59.The techs accidently installed by CAT 5 cable.After talking on the phone, they agreed to replace back cable RG59 for my home.The customer service is great !!! read more

I had a problem with the contract, but after posting on here I was contacted directly by the owner (or one of the owners) and she was very polite and has offered to try and help me, even though I did agree to the terms of the agreement. I do suggest that you fully understand the agreement before signing it. I didn't realize I was agreeing to a 3 year contract that would automatically renew for an additional year if I did not cancel the contract before the current term was up. I have had no problems with Cannon's security monitoring, just with the terms of the contract. read more

Stay away from these shysters!!! Run away faster! Don't sign a contract or give them your credit card number! Any other company would be better and much cheaper (California prices) is what I have learned after voiding my credit card and saying Adios Banditos! Very expensive install, equipment and monthly billing costs. Contract is a scam, 3 years and auto renews and I was getting double auto billed. Corie Cannon is a crook. Corie, we both know your "screaming" statements are false, I have a witness to the call on Thursday about making sure my contract didn't auto-renew. If you are going to continue to defame my character publicly with statements we both know aren't true, you had better have some proof. And I'm talking audio recording. Please refer to the definition of "libel." - I had no issues completing my contract terms. I simply opted not to renew. - Which is it, Corie? Do you "not have a third party company handle" your customers? You told me my "contract is owned by AFA" and I would need to cancel through them, was that not true? Why would I need to call "the company that owns" my account if you have handled this matter internally? What's the truth here? Because I have all of these statements in writing and you've contradicted yourself on more than one occasion. - I never once "demanded" you accept a verbal confirmation, again - you're going to need some proof here. You spend so much time chasing down former customers that left dissatisfied to defend yourself that I wonder how you get anything done. I sent an email as you requested, then you left me hanging, then you changed your tune and said I needed to call some other company that now "owns" my account as you'd "sold" it, which I later confirmed to be also untrue as AFA themselves clarified the nature of the relationship between themselves and Cannon. They had no idea why you would tell me that but they were happy to help regardless. Clearly, the desire to end this consumer/client relationship was mutual. I'm not sure why you've made it so difficult, although I'm sure you'll divert to your typical lie that you are unable to prove that I disrespected and berated your employees. Let's be clear - my issue with Cannon is YOU. No one else. In fact over the years I found your staff to be quite helpful the few times I needed assistance. I'm going to respectfully require that you cease contact with me or any other party outside of my contract that I have not authorized you to release information to with regards to my private matters. And again - any further statements made against me or my character will require proof, as I promise you I have in my possession with respect to my claims. read more

STAY AWAY. Company hired to pre-wire house on new build. Had keypads and sensors installed. System never worked and would not service ... they argue it installed over year ago ... I say yes and system has never worked since day 1 and I have made aware since day 1. STAY AWAY if want the product supported, $1000s wasted! read more

On going problem of Cannon Security expecting me to pay a bill for services they can no longer monitor. Even their own contract says they will continue to monitor signals and I will continue to pay. What signals are they monitoring if the system is no longer hooked up? We sold the house in November 2019 and they want payment through June 2020. BEWARE OF THIS VERY DECEPTIVE COMPANY. THEY EXPECT YOU TO GIVE THEM 30 DAY NOTICE BEFORE YOUR RENEWAL DATE OTHERWISE THEY WANT A YEAR'S WORTH OF PAYMENTS AND THEY DON'T HAVE TO WORK FOR IT. They tell their employees NOT to tell the customers about this little "loophole". Imagine getting paid for doing nothing??? read more

Recently had the need for two televisions to be mounted on walls at my house. One was interior and one was exterior. Both tv's were successfully mounted and look amazing. All wiring/cables and boxes are completely out of sight and hidden either in the wall or behind the tv's. The tech, Cole, even wired the exterior tv through my ceiling and into the attic to display a much cleaner look. I am extremely satisfied at the service received and will be using Cannon again in the near future once my existing, awful, home security contract is up with Vivint. read more

We recently moved into a new home that already had some Cannon security equipment. I called on Friday 2/9/18 to inquire about their services, products and the cost, after accepting the offer they were able to set up the installation of additional equipment for the next day. The technician that came out, Joseph was extremely knowledgeable about the system, he was prompt and efficient. The monthly monitoring fee is very reasonable. I asked for a quote on a camera system and had it the same day. When you call their office a person answers the phone, they have been extremely helpful and have made this process easy, that says a lot this day and time when almost everything you do takes several phone calls and a lot of time, that was not the case with Cannon Security. I have experienced dissatisfaction with Cannon Security starting with the 1st month I made them my alarm/surveillance provider. They were the only alarm company the builder would allow on the property during construction. It took a year for them to setup my contact information in the event of an alarm and every time I called, I was transferred to dispatch and they couldn't help me. After my surveillance wiring was completed, I was informed to purchase 3 monitors and they would come out and complete the install of my cameras. They came out once the monitors were purchased and they informed me that I needed to buy TVs for monitors and not computer monitors and it would be an additional $350 on top of the $1700 I already paid them for the install. Communication to the monitors have failed 4 times since I purchased them. Once I purchased the VGA baluns which are $100 every time they fail, and the other three times they were purchased by Cannon and I was charged $175 plus $92 for the service call. I didn't feel that was justifiable due to the fact they keep changing out my equipment with poor replacements. They came out 3 week ago due to my monitors failing and they replaced the VGA baluns again only for them to fail the same day. I called for them to complete what they started and I was informed it would be $270 for the technician to come out. I said to have a supervisor contact me so we could discuss the payment arrangements since I didn't feel it was appropriate to have to keep paying for the same piece of equipment. They called and emailed only to tell me that they have never had this issue in the 21 years they have been a company and if I don't return the VGA baluns to them, they would call the police and have me charged with theft of equipment. Unfortunately, you are unable to switch alarm companies while under an agreement, which is 3 years, but I will make sure I follow the guideline to ensure my contract is NOT renewed. I highly recommend that consumers DO NOT have Cannon Security provide alarm or surveillance services for them. read more

The customer service was always nice. My problem with this company is the way they handle if you need to cancel. I got the opportunity to sell my house in July. I called Cannon then and was told that the new homeowner had already signed up. Which mean I get out of the contract because they do not have a termination fee and you are required to pay the entire contract if you need to terminate the service before it is up. Which is ridiculous and I now make sure everything has a termination fee. Well in Sept I get in the mail that I am passed due for July and Aug and now almost Sept. I call up there and they are now telling me that the new homeowners never signed up. I have since moved to a place that cannon does NOT have access to so I am paying to have a service float around in mid-air. I feel lied too, I understood the terms of my contracts but it feels awful to told one thing and then fine out that that was bogus. I would never recommend this company to anyone. I believe that the terms to cancel your service should be worth the companies time but if you value or ever what return customers you should cut them a break. Saying that they owe the entire contract and if they do not cancel you are automatically rolled into a 4th year is poor business practice. read more

Beware of Cannon Security. They are good until you need them. My system allowed us to set the alarm when the garage door was still open back in November. We awoke at 2am to the sound of the alarm going off, thinking that we had someone on our property breaking in. Luckily no one broke in, and viewing our security cameras revealed that we left the garage door open the evening before. We couldn't understand 1) why it allowed us to set the alarm when a protected door was open and 2) what caused it to go off at 2 am. Their response: 1) I was put on hold for several minutes and told that they could not find our account; 2) then told to call another number (#800) because our equipment was Honeywell and we were on another database; and finally 3) it was our fault because we did not test the system (we did). I cancelled the contract because their response was unsatisfactory and I felt they did not perform their part of the monitoring contract. Also because the safety and security of my family is too important to me. Now, I am getting harassed by them -- I only had 4 months left on a 2 year contract. I am not trying to spread any ill will this new year or cause Cannon to lose business, but just sharing my personal experience with you. If you are looking for a security company, I would personally not recommend this company to you. read more
