Terrific, professional residential service! Daniel works with both commercial and residential clients. I needed help connecting and fixing a Smart TV with a Zvox soundbar, and making sure an old, but good, receiver worked with our turntable (for vinyl), etc. Daniel did all this work, plus got me down to 1 remote, and addressed a bunch of questions I had with good cheer and patience. I do no write a lot of reviews but I have to write one for Daniel and Automation Destination. So, I had an internet service company install service at my home. They came out and installed one port and WiFi. Unfortunately, this was not sufficient for my house. We were receiving very poor service at the other end of the house. I was feeling ambitious and tried to hook up the other Cat5 cables that were run to the other portions of the house. I spent about 3 hours in the attic and after losing about 10lbs of sweat, I decided that I should leave this up to the professionals. Granted, I did go down a pant size after the attic ordeal, so at least there is that! I contacted Daniel through Yelp and he responded immediately. We discussed some basic trouble shooting, he gave some recommendations and came by that night! He looked at the current setup, identified what he thought should be done, and provided a quote on the spot. The price was very reasonable. He was going to have to undo the mess I made, run some extra Cat5 and add an wireless access point. He moved the switch to a closet so it wouldn't overheat in the summer. Just an FYI... The work was meticulous! My wife has "minor" OCD and she was ecstatic. The wires were well organized and beautiful. We also added a wired access point, which is so much better than it was before. He did all of this is about 3 hours and cleaned up after himself. No sign that he was here except for great internet throughout the house and a lasting impression of great customer service. My local cable provider initially did a terrible installation job (they ran the cable through the outside wall, into the bedroom, over the door jam rather than droppig it through the attic). When I called them out to fix it, the technician basically made a bunch of excuses why he could not do it, and told me I would need to have a third-party contractor fix the problem. I found "Automation Destination" on a random internet search and it ended up being a Godsend! I called on a Saturday, expecting to leave a message on a voicemail, but to my surprise Daniel answered my call. I told him about my predicament, and he ended up giving me a quote over the phone. I text him my information and three days later he was there doing the installation. Daniel showed up right on time and went straight to work. He was quick and efficient from the get-go, and very personable. I was blown away by his attention to detail and meticulousness. He dropped the cable through attic, and got rid of all the excess wiring that was hanging everywhere, neatly bundling up what remained. He even moved the cable equipment to a less conspicuous place on the wall that the provider failed to do. Even with all the extra work, his final invoice was the same as the original quote. Daniel was prompt to come by and provide me an itemized quote for my wired home network installation. He completed installation the following weekend. My home was pre-wired with CAT5E but consisted of cut-off cables in the attic and telephone jacks throughout the house. Daniel installed new Ethernet wall plates, added RJ45 ethernet adaptors to the cut CAT5E cabling, and ran all the ethernet cabling down into my master closet to a hinged patch panel along with a new electric outlet [from there, I simply bought a network switch, plugged in power and ethernet cables]. Daniel's work was very clean-looking and clearly labelled. He left no mess behind and we verified my wired internet was running at full speed before he departed. Daniel is essentially a magician. He wired my three story Victorian home with fiber and CAT6 cables to 10 devices including 4 cameras, 3 TVs, and 3 WiFi access points, including my back alley which is 35 feet behind my house, all perfectly and out of sight (no exposed cables or unsightly holes anywhere). He even made sure to seal up all holes with spray foam insulation. I still don't understand how he did it. It may have something to do with his crazy instrumentation which includes a little snake camera that he uses to get wires to go into places you've never even seen in your house (like the small attic inside my porch roof--pretty cool). His work is clean, tight, professional, and meticulous. It took him 4 days of work to wire my home. This is the first time I felt undercharged in my life. He's phenomenal. Notice that for his two negative reviews he didn't actually have a chance to do any work for the reviewers -- he's so good that everyone wants him, so he is stretched thin. He upgraded security cameras (11) throughout our house, added new in-ceiling speakers, wired our TV to stream throughout the house and networked our desktop, laptop and network-accessed storage drive. He also converted all the non-functional wired ethernet plugs to active ports. It took him about three days to get all the work done and his pricing was fair and honest. No surcharges when he didn't get it done in the estimated time and he held to his estimated pricing. As others have stated, at the end, it all was nice and clean-looking. As a bonus, he was also available to troubleshoot after the job was done. Really top-notch service. Only small/minor issue (as no one's perfect), he didn't fully clean up between visits, so we had some cabling ends and drywall dust on our floors. We have a baby that likes to eat stuff like that, so we did the clean up after he left. That said, I'd hire him again in a heartbeat if needed and made three referrals for him. Since I had a good experience with Daniel previously, I contacted him regarding the purchase and installation of Z-wave switches and outlets. He gave me a quote - and although I should have known better - paid him for the work and equipment upfront. The install obviously wasn't quite the simple job he expected it to be - he was unable to get certain of the switches & outlets to work as they were supposed to. He came back a second time to see if he could finish the job but still couldn't get it to work. Also, in the course of the install, he actually caused certain lights that had been functioning previously, to stop working. Now that he has been paid, he won't return calls or texts, and I'm going to have to hire an electrician to fix some of his work. Not a happy camper at this point. read more

The ethernet wiring in our home is complete chaos, and after switching to AT&T Fiber recently, we wanted to enjoy the fast internet everywhere in our home, not just on the third floor where the modem is located. I messaged Daniel through Yelp about extending our wifi signal, and he responded within the hour. He came over a few days later to look at the house and give us an estimate for installing the Eero mesh wifi system for all 3 floors. He was very friendly and casual, and he loves dogs! :) Once we were ready for install, he came over and set everything up. When I wasn't happy with the speeds I was getting in one room, he tried moving the 2nd floor Eero box to different locations, and then called Eero customer support and helped me get all of my questions answered (and got the speed up to what I wanted). He spent a lot of extra time after completing the install to help me with the signal in just that one room and to make sure I understood how to use the system so I could troubleshoot by myself in the future.
