WARNING: Stay away from Dr. Lesani and Las Vegas Urology!!! In my personal experience, I have been a patient at Las Vegas Urology for over six months, and Alex Lesani was one of several doctors involved in my case. Ultimately, despite having an appointment, Lesani did not show up, and suddenly two other doctors were assigned to me both of whom I had to explain everything to from scratch. From my perspective, the way patients are handled at Las Vegas Urology is catastrophic. Everyone is friendly, yes, but in my opinion completely unable to provide real, effective help. My frustration is hard to put into words; my medical history now spans over six pages. I can only warn anyone about becoming a patient there. If you truly need help, I strongly advise staying far away from Las Vegas Urology and Alex Lesani. For example, I have been waiting more than five weeks for a prescription for a pain medication. Phone calls, emails, messages through the patient portal, even visiting the office in person none of it has produced any result. In my experience, patient concerns are ignored for weeks or even months, which has already led to two visits to the emergency room. The first visit cost over $12,000; for the second one I haven't even received the bill yet. In my view, Dr. Lesani even caused a third potential ER visit due to a surgery he suggested, which fortunately never happened because I decided I would no longer tolerate this situation. I've found similar reports online from others, some of whom say they have contacted the medical board or planned to. I will most likely have to do the same. Therefore, based on my personal experience, my urgent WARNING is: Stay away from Dr. Lesani and Las Vegas Urology if you genuinely need help. I sent two texts weeks apart and they have both gone unanswered, I sent you a letter, the old fashioned kind, typed on paper, placed in an addressed envelope with a stamp and delivered by the US Postal Service informing you that ignoring my messages was unprofessional and unacceptable. Further I reminded you that I'm still suffering with my BPH and after all the office visits and tests it was time for you to provide treatment. Once again you ignored me. As a medical provider myself but in a different field I pride myself on listening to my patients even if the math at times isn't mathing. Patients know their bodies the best and regardless of how many years of experience you have you need to not depend just on your 20 years of experience but also listen to what your clients are trying to tell you and instead of dismissing what they're saying maybe assist them in figuring out a solution not just stating "oh I'm sorry there's nothing I can do to help you". This was my experience with Dr. Alex Lesani and I would NEVER recommend him as a urologist provider. He was very dismissive and the lack of empathy was truly shocking! read more

I recently had a loved one have the unfortunate experience of having to deal with this doctor and his office. First, I'd like to point out that we did our research, or so we thought, in electing to see this doctor and practice. Looking back, I should have realized that a Urologist having 1,400 reviews on Google should have been the first warning sign. Look up other doctors and you'll see maybe 30-50 reviews, over years. I learned that there are companies out there that are paid for posting fake reviews to offset bad ones or make that business look like they have been reviewed way more than they actually have been, at least by real people. The doctor was cold, uncaring and lacked any empathy. I will tell you that my family member nearly died, numerous times, based on getting no communication back from the office, no follow-up, and a care plan that focused much more on money than a positive outcome. Thankfully, and I do mean that, as they came very close to death, we were able to get them over to another doctor who provided excellent care and went against the treatment plan this doctor ordered which would have taken months to complete and had my loved one back to normal and out of pain within days. Dealing with doctor was just as painful as dealing with the office. Expect to have no calls returned and just be referred to your primary care doctor or the ER if you need anything. read more

Extremely professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Lesani is an expert in a variety of procedures, This means patients have the benefit of being able to choose which procedure is the most advantageous for them. It's not like some other doctors that only push one procedure because that is all they know how to do. Additionally Dr. Lesani has chosen to make available Pro-Nox to his patients. It is a combination of Oxygen and Nitrous. The advantage of this anesthesia procedure is less anxiety and virtually no pain. Additionally, 10 minutes after the procedure is over, the Pro-Nox mixture is quickly metabolized and you are clear headed and actually can drive yourself home. While this is not covered by insurance, Dr. Lesani's office charges a modest $100 out of pocket expense. A very small price to pay to make your procedure pain free. It is certainly worth it and I highly recommend it. Dr. Lesani is amazing in the wealth of education he has and his dedication to stay up to date on new proven procedures to assure his patients have the best possible outcomes. Not only that let me tell you what a caring Doctor he is. It was a Saturday, the day after my procedure. The procedure necessitated a catheter. Unfortunately the catheter caused me to start having severe bladder spasms. I emailed Dr. Lesani, and he immediately responded and said he would call in a script to my pharmacy for an antispasmodic. How many doctors do you know that exhibit that kind of care for their patients. Many doctors disappear on the weekends. You get their answering service and their stock answer is, "Well go to an Urgent Care." Dr. Lesani has my highest recommendation. If you want quality medical care, Dr. Alex Lesani is your man. this office is a joke. I had a Urolift done and it had NO EFFECT on my prostate urinary frequency. I had to reschedule my post-op follow up appointment with Dr Lasani because I was sick. After trying to get through to the office for literally days, I finally got through and they scheduled my post-op appointment with the nurse practitioner because he was too busy. Then, the day before I was to see the Nurse Practitioner, they called and canceled my appointment. I tried and tried to get through the phone lines to reschedule my appointment but I couldn't get through. I gave up and was NEVER SEEN POST-operatatively (which is legally considered "patient abandonment") and is unethical. They never followed up with me. As I said, this office is a joke! read more

I have had two appointments with Dr. Lesani. Had I written my review after the first, it would be more negative than the one I write now. I was referred to him by my GP for an issue with blood in my urine discovered during my annual well being blood work. As with all practices, there were way too many papers to fill out when coming to the practice the first time. I wish more would use electronic portals. When I met with him, he asked me a question and then proceeded to interrupt me twice as I was trying to answer his question. At the end of the appointment, he had decided to have me get a CT scan and have a cystoscopy at a future appointment after the scan. Last week, I had the cystoscopy and it went well at least I was given no further tests after the procedure. At the end of the cystoscopy, there was no comment along the lines of, "Everything looks good," or "Things look good except for one thing," or "Oh my heavens, that's bad!" Dr. Google had said that your physician would discuss the results with you when the procedure was completed. Dr. Lesani did not. He said he was prescribing a medicine for me an explained how it would be of help. I learned between the two visits that Dr. Lesani is very business like, competent, and professional. If you need a physician who will chitchat with you, don't come here. He's there to help his patients, not to be your friend. It took me a bit to learn this, but he earned my trust and I'm glad I was referred to him despite the critique raised above. read more

Left very disappointed after having issues for years he just told me to get supplements from the grocery store and what he suggested me to get contradicts with the condition they said I had. You have to undertsand that this is a building that has 3 Drs ,,,Radiation,,, Kurtz the Uroligest, and Lesani the surgeon. When you deal with one, they send you to the other two. They have a lock down and do not vear from iy. So when you talk about one Dr, You are talking about the groupt has been 3 years now from my surgey. Robotic Surgey is not pleasent and it isnt nice and clean and neat like you would think. Here are some pics. Still no sex drive, I had a great sex drive, 3 times a week and now its zero times a week. He promised me that this wouldnt be the case but he wasnt truthful. he said he would be very carfull not to nick the wrong things, he must have forgot. I saw The Dr once after surgery so he could remove the Cathader and after that he ghosted me. Zero bed side manners, cold as ice..The whole building is a network of scam. Lesani is the surgeon, Kurtz is the uroligest and the Radiation clinic is the main floor. I was told by Kurtz that Lesani missed some of my cancer during my prostate removal . Kurtz told me I needed to have Radiation to get the left behind cancer out and my cancer was a gleason of 9 so Kurtz told me it was something that I needed ASAP. He sent me to radiation on the first floor that day , they told me they couldnt even talk to me for 2 to 3 weeks and after that we could set up treatment... Hell NO,,, CANCER DOESNT SIT AROUND AND WAIT FOR 3 weeks. Kurtz said ASAP. I tried again and was turned down so I went to CANCER TREATMENT CENTERS OF AMERICA in Arizona. WOW,, I called, the next day I had an appointment in Arizona the next day, I went,,,, in one hour I had a MRI of my whole body, in two hours I was with a specialist and they set up radiation treatments for seven weeks . The Radiation would start in two days,,,, THAT IS SERVICE.. they did what these other guys couldnt do and it was done within 2 days. Great treatment. I was done, they did a great job and did it without waiting months just to get blood and MRI. The bottom line is,,,, Kurtz sent me a letter in the mail, and the letter stated that he NO LONGER EXCEPTED ME AS A PATIENT... LMAO,,, Is he crazy, because his clinic couldnt solve the problem im just suppose to sit there and let the cancer spread. I am GLAD I went somewhere else. Dont let these type of clinics scare you into getting treatment you dont need or want, SECOND OPINION,,, YES its a great thing, it saved me. So Kurtz can keep his unprofessional ways to himself or make it to where patients dont have to be FORCED to go to other clinics for treatment. If you read Kurtz reviews on line, he has sent many letters dismissing his patients because they didnt have trust and went for Second Opinions that can save theis lifes. He doesnt except defeat very well. Instead of him being Happy the Patient got rid of the cancer that they couldnt get rid of. So DISMISS all the patients that you want or that you can afford to toss to the curb and continue through life thinking you are helping Patients. It is considered Selective Dismissing, I would rather be DISMISSED by Kurtz as a Ptient but GOT RID OF MY CANCER which is the goal..... DR's,, You are DISMISSED.... read more

I am now a patient of Dr. Lesani for more than 6 years and he performed another procedure on me 3 weeks ago. I am continued to be impressed by his expertise, advice, and skillful work. I also find his staff to be first-rate, polite, considerate, and very helpful. His office was recently remodeled and expanded, so the setting is comfortable and I have never waited more than 15 minutes in the waiting room. No one wants to go through urinary medical procedures but since they are necessary to save our kidney function and to keep us from often extreme and severe pain, this is the only urinary clinic I could recommend to anyone in the Las Vegas area. In fact, I've been to 2 other urinary doctors previously and Dr. Lesani is by far the best there is. read more

I went to Dr. Lesani a few years ago for a robotic surgery on my kidney. Up until my surgery was over, he was kind, patient, and very caring. AFTER the surgery however, when I would end up in the hospital (for a different condition. He is a good surgeon, and the surgery was successful) He became defensive, abrasive, and mean, saying things like "The surgery was successful!" Um...yeah, I know it was...but what else is going on with my kidney? Not to mention the fact that he left a surgical clip inside me. **ETA: I see someone commented that surgical clips are left inside all the time. Yes, they are, intentionally, sometimes. However, this was NOT the case with me. When I had surgery with a different doctor last year, he removed it, stating that there was absolutely NO REASON for the clip to be inside me. It was not holding anything, it was just there. He FORGOT TO TAKE IT OUT. I firmly believe that this contributed to the immense pain I continued to be in for the next couple of years after surgery.** His office staff is ok, and his surgical skills are the only reason he is getting 2 stars. I setup an appointment through Dr Lesani and I hold him equally responsible. This whole organization is a scam. My appointment was with Dr. Patino. This guy's is horrible and the reason people hate doctors almost as much as lawyers. I had a scheduled 10:30 app and arrived at 10:30. The girls at the front desk said I needed to be here at 10:00 to do paperwork. Why would they schedule a new patient and it's just a consultation, at 10:30? Our society has grown worse and worse with customer care and this is a perfect example. Doctors book our appointments at a time and have us sitting around for 30-50 min but then when we have paperwork its "sorry, we'll have to reschedule". I went to Dr. Lasani for my BPH symptoms. he ordered an invasive test right out the gate, that was not fun. Then after the results, told me I need surgery to get better. I asked if medication could do the job, he said "nope". Finally I got the nerve to go with my gut and get another opinion. Long story short, I really did my homework this time. Hands down, the top 2 Urology Centers in the country are Johns Hopkins and Cleveland Clinic (the one in Cleveland, OH not Vegas!) After reviewing all the Urologists at these two facilities, I flew back to Baltimore to John Hopkins Hospital and saw one of the leading Urologists in the WORLD! Dr. Jacke Mostwin (read his credentials sometime if you want to be impressed). Longer story shorty...been seeing him 14 months now, no surgery, and things are remarkably better! read more

this guy does not give a S#&$ about you. I went to him last year and he wanted to perform a procedure for BPH. He did not explain the high probability of retrograde ejaculation. I was in a hospital gown and in a wheelchair. I tried to explain to him that i had a serious infection. He didn't listen at all. I told him that I was burning when I urinated, he just suggested an over the counter remedy . My infection was pseudomonas aeruginosa, which causes UTI's. He just had me schedule surgery. I went to an infectious disease doctor that immediately detected a UTI and put me on antibiotics. I cancelled the surgery. He does not care, shouldn't be allowed to practice read more

After the office visit approximately one month later received a notice stating I owed a no show fee for not keeping my appt, which was never scheduled and I did not pay. They would not make another appt as I wanted to see him again for a different issue. They are a ripoff and tried to charge for an appt that was never made. read more

Yes, the other reviews here have nailed it. I had a robotic nephrectomy with Dr. Lesani on Feb 18th. He's awesome. If you want warm and fuzzy, get a stuffed teddy bear. If you want a straight shooter who is an outstanding surgeon, go to Dr. Lesani. And...don't misunderstand....he's a nice guy and we had a few laughs...he's just not going to coddle you. He did, however, perform a flawless procedure, I recovered beautifully, and I would go to him again in a heartbeat if necessary. Woul trust him with any of my family. So, just to bring you up to date, after a 13 day celibacy period I just had another PSA test. IT CAME IN AT 2.7 WHICH IS WELL INSIDE THE NORMAL RANGE. So Dr. Lesani, HOW BOUT THEM APPLES????? Apparently the life-or-death biopsy (which I skipped in February), was just another unnecessary surgical procedure which urologists and other surgeons are so fond of recommending. What a bunch of crap. I would suggest you abstain from sexual activity for a week or so prior to your PSA test, to get an accurate reading. And don't wait for a urologist to tell you that, because they won't. read more

We are incredibly blessed to have come across Dr. Lesani. After having found out that my dad had prostate cancer with a PSA level of 19. We automatically thought the worst. We literally felt like a ton of bricks have just hit fell on us. Dr. Lesani told my dad that he was going to do his best to save his life and he literally did just that. Dr. Lesani discovered a cancerous tumor in my bladder and removed it right away. What was supposed to be an outpatient procedure ended up being a 5-day hospital stay (not the fault of the doctor, just more going on than initially thought). I give Dr. Lesani 5 stars for the surgery. Follow up: Dr. Lesani has done two more procedures to make sure the cancer is gone. He is very professional and knowledgeable. I was referred to Dr Lesani by my primary care doctor for hematuria. He did a few tests and found tumors in my bladder. He operated right away to remove them. When he first seen them in the cystoscopy, he mentioned they were most likely benign. Thank God my biopsy results confirmed that too! I'm very blessed. Don't expect a lot of chit chat from him. He's to the point and if you have questions ask. He listens and answers whatever your concern may be. I personally, am very happy to have seen him. He's a very skilled physician. He called me as soon as he received my biopsy results to give me the good news. I work in the medical field and we don't usually call a patient with results, whether they're bad or good. We schedule a follow up, so to me that says a lot about Dr Lesani. I will continue to see him for yearly visits. This is based on MY personal experience. He deserves a good review on Yelp. Came into the clinic for a vasectomy and was handed information for a scalpel-less vasectomy and sent on my way. Fast forward to procedure day I was told what would happen and was ready to go. Procedure happened and then found that a TRADITIONAL vasectomy was performed not what I was told. I would NEVER had done the procedure, I was fully knowing that was going to happen and nothing that I was told would happen happened. Start of the operation I wasn't fully numb either and felt my vas fully being cut. Feel completely mislead and wasn't expecting the amount of pain during the procedure and afterwards. read more

Made an appointment with Dr. Lesani online, entered information requested, including health insurance information. Appointment was for my son who has prostrate cancer and it was spreading. I was desperate to get someone to help him. Got to office and was told the doctor was not at that office and given paperwork to fill out. Person spoke with my son and then told him they don't take his insurance so guess they don't care as much about helping someone with aggressive cancer as they care about money. Dr, Lesani is a patient, caring, efficient physician. Upon learning that I had postrate cancer I was referred to Dr. Lesani who performed the procedure robotically and thankfully removed the cancer. It has now been 4 years and my PSA tests have all come back as zero. I have found Dr. Lesani to be an outstanding doctor who is concerned and will take the time to effectively explain the issues and procedures that he will perform. Dr Lesani did a great job removing a cancerous tumor from my husbands kidney. I would have given him a much higher rating but he was frustratingly slow communicating with the hospital during the 76 hours after surgery, delaying modifications to standing orders like meds, ingestion of food and discharge. These delays were stressful, painful and potentially hindered recovery. read more

I was fine when I went in the clinic, but 32 hours after leaving, I had a fever of 103, caused by a severe E. coli bladder infection - the first in my life ever. Dr. Lesani had just examined my enlarged prostate running a cystoscope up my urethra and into my bladder. I assumed sterile conditions would be observed. This infection was like being in hell, with an excruciating headache, and severe burning pain when I urinated. I lost a week of my life as a result, and had to seek medical care, including a urine culture for identification, and antibiotics. My God!!! read more

Dr Lesani is a competent physician. Great bedside manner. Knowledgeable but sometimes talks over your head. If you are unlucky to need surgery you are in good hands. I was reading the other comments and Lisa H mentions that during after her surgery she had a clip in her body. Clips are used in surgery all the time. dr lesani and his nurse should be in jail. i went to an appointment last week for a procedure. during the prep for the procedure i was left alone to wait for doctor. i became dizzy and nauseated, began calling for help and pounding on the walls. no one came in, i passed out, woke up and vomited. after that he came in, i told him what happened and he started procedure without checking my vitals, or anything. he spent less than a minute in the room, the pain was immense, i was given no pre or post procedure instructions and told to dress and go home. he left the room and the same thing happened, dizzy,twitching, calling for help and then passed out. this time i wet myself, again i was not told about this. i ran out of office in fear, first time in my life. run from dr lesani too. no stars at all. all other 5 visits with him before totaled 9 minutes of nurse and doctor face time. rediculous that this man is a doctor. i wouldn't let him fix my dog's collar, let alone me ever again. read more
