I've sched an appt in the past and "attempted" to reschedule today. Few times I have called this office, n/a and NO VM. I called second time today to reschedule, and spoke with an Asian lady, (did not catch her name) extremely refusing to schedule an apt. I provided her with current and past history, she stated this is not GI office, "snarly giggled and laugh... I mean yeah we can schedule an apt... but" As if I should have known better! Clearly, I was confused as she denied MY APT, considering I had one BEFORE?! if you really need help you really need to be respectful, the negative posts here show how self-centered individuals can be so ignorant. I spent over two years seeing 6 different doctors who said they found nothing wrong with me, upon my fourth emergency room visit I was diagnosed with an extreme fistula that was so infected my actual life was on the line, I was given 5 referrals of specialists that might be able to help, the Henderson Hospital emergency room stated they were not qualified to help me and a Dr. Gabriel went on to make me feel worthless and unworthy of his nonexistent professionalism. I called around and an angel named Daisey called me back and she scheduled me to see the most amazing human being on planet earth, Dr. Hsiung met with me, reviewed my records and accepted the challenge to repair what was wrong, he didn't sugar coat the situation, he told me that this may be one of his most extreme procedures and that there was a chance a colostomy bag would need to be in place for a period of time but that he would do his best to avoid that. He scheduled me for a 3-to-six-hour procedure and told his staff I would be his only patient that day, after almost seven hours under I was taken to my room without the colostomy bag, I began to cry after hearing what he had done to not only spare me from that but also the challenges he overcame to get me right. now home after six days in Summerlin Hospital who have the most attentive and empathetic staff one could only pray for I find myself writing to the world that the gratitude I have for him and his amazing staff are world class and as a resident of planet earth, I'm beyond thankful to still be here, God bless you and yours. read more

I was referred to Dr. Calvin Lyons Jr by my primary care physician. When meeting with Dr. Lyons, he informed me that I was too young for the procedure and if I didn't really need it, I shouldn't have it done at the time. We maybe only had a 10 minute conversation and I left and his office. At the time I felt that this was amazing a Doctor who was honest and not just doing a procedure on me that I didn't need so they could bill my insurance. Well I was completely wrong! I came to this clinic to get a second opinion for a hemorrhoid that had been bothering me for a few months now. A general surgeon that I went to prior to this visit, said that I needed full on surgery to take care of the hemorrhoid. This seemed a bit extreme in my opinion. So after waiting a month to get an appointment to this location, I was pleasantly pleased with my visit. ( The only reason I had to wait a month to get an appointment was because I work 8-4 and the hours are 9-5) The office was very modern and the ladies at the front desk were friendly and efficient. After filling out the patient paperwork, I was seen by the nurse who took my vitals and had a lengthy conversation with me about my condition. She asked numerous questions about my health background. I was then taken to the doctor's office where I waited about 10 minutes to be seen. He then asked me about my concerns. Next, he went into a very detailed explantation of the type of hemorrhoids and the procedures to get rid of them. I then went to the exam room. The table that I leaned on was very comfortable. The nurse and the doctor were comforting during this awkward time. He examined me thoroughly using 3 different methods to get a "detailed" look at what was ailing me. He told me that there was no need for surgery or to do the banding technique that he had described in his office. He encouraged me to continue with my healthy diet and to not strain on the toilet and drink lots of water. He asked that I make sure to get a colonoscopy when I hit 50 years old. It saddens me that someone who claims to want to help people can completely lack empathy. I came to Dr Roger Hsuing in mid February with extreme pain. I live my life everyday in the fetal position. I am to the point where I can't leave my own home due to incontinence. I came to him hoping he would help me with my internal prolapse and hemorrhoids. He said I didn't have an internal prolapse and proceeded with band ligation the day of consultation. Keep in mind he did absolutely NO testing to investigate the prolapse. For all 3 of my appointments I told him of my pain and also that I have lost 35 pounds in less than 5 months. He called my pain "psychosomatic" I have BEGGED him to help me and he has since only ordered a CT Scan. Now I may lose my job because this man who has known about my issue since February (it is now May) will not sign an FMLA form. He thinks because I am only 33 there is no way I have a prolapse. He refuses to accept the fact that I gave birth to 2 children and I also did a body building competition. My intestines are literally bundling up, trying to push through my butt and it is so painful. I will DEFINITELY be seeking other care. Worst experience of my life!! read more

Back in 2015 in the middle of July I went to see Doctor Hsiung. From setting the appointments to meeting the Doctor himself, very polite, respectful, and professional. I recently went on Thursday, August, 10, 2017, and saw him due to issues, and again very polite respectful and full of information. I would highly recommend him and his clinic to anyone in need. Dr. Calvin Lyons operated on me a few months ago for a large tumor - colon cancer. The operation was a success. I later had complications and had to be hospitalized and needed additional surgeries. Dr. Lyons was there every step of the way, talking with me 1-2 times a day and frequently visiting me in the hospital to see how I was and how I was progressing. As the colorectal surgeon, he didn't have to do this, and I thought it was very professional of him to do it regardless. I'm grateful this place exists and the doctor is kind and intelligent, but by god- please give your patients gowns! It is ridiculous not to allow your patients time to change and give them a gown. Also, be prepared with outpatient surgeries, that recovery is horrible. I was in serious pain after my surgery and left with no meds and no one to contact. I had to visit the ER for pain control and now have that additional expense. It's great that they are there but these are big tweaks they need to fix to be truly great. read more

He was very kind and explained my options during my initial visit and spent a lot of time with me to make sure I understood. He is very direct and stern with you but I appreciate that in a doctor. After 2 weeks of trying conservative measures, he ended up performing a surgical procedure as my pain was getting worse. Immediately after surgery, I started to feel normal again.
