Took my lesson with Sam on Tuesday and played round with friend on Thursday. Was nervous because I didn't have time to practice at range before and was going to try his advice on course....OMG, off first tee, hit solid contact straight on fairway. Not every shot and hole was perfect that day - bad habits are hard to change but I was making just better contact and had more confidence. I didn't want to get fitted without first hiring a coach to help with my grip, swing, etc. (A bad swing with good clubs didn't make sense to me) I took lessons and then scheduled a full bag fitting at Club Champion. I met, master fitter, Jacob Alvarado, and I'm glad I did. He was consultative, knowledgeable, and patient and explained the data in a digestible way. He wasn't pushy when making recommendations, truly loved the data as much as me, and we realized that my existing irons needed nothing more than a loft and lie adjustment. I hit multiple combinations of drivers and fairway woods, and my existing clubs, according to the data, were just fine as well. The putter and wedge fitting was fun, and I ended up investing in a new putter and two wedges.
