I read some of these "poor" reviews today, and I find it hard to believe any of them..... 25 years ago, Dr. Alexander performed Surgery on my Eyes. I was 40 years old at the time. MOST miraculous thing I had ever experienced. NO GLASSES anymore!! I started wearing them when I was 8 years old! I STILL now see just ......shy.......of 20/20 yet........... Went here for years to monitor my Glaucoma, also had LASIK done here many years ago. Changed to a different doctor due to Dr Alexander always running behind for my appointments; often by as much as an hour. He also has an extremely rude assistant that I was done dealing with. read more

Just giving full transparency. I am pleased with my surgery. All went well with my Lasik. No complaints there. This is an extremely expensive "cosmetic" surgery that most likely won't be covered by insurance, but no worries they have financing "options". Which include $5000 up front to them ORRRR basically get a loan and pay back the loan with interest. Also if you go to their site under financial and try to click other.....nothing happens at least not for me. Also any check up a year afterwards is $87/appointment. So be prepared that's all I'm saying. read more

Two words:LIFE CHANGING. i have been wearing cheaters since age 45. Now turning 61 I decided to do something about it. My wife me an appointment to find out more about Permaclear. After meeting with the staff and then Dr. Alexander, I set up an appointment. I had both eyes done and now have 20/15 vision in both eyes. In June 2010 I had multifocal intraocular lenses implanted in my eyes by Dr. Alexander. I am now in my late 50s and have enjoyed perfect vision for the past 13 years. Pre-surgery, my vision was 20/550!! Yes, I was blind as a bat;-) I was also starting to need cheaters. Now I should never have to wear prescription glasses ever again in my life. Halos are so bad my father in law can't drive at night. Free visits run out, and they won't do anything to fix the halos. Not recommended. read more

I had surgery and yes, it did correct my eyes but the guarantee is a total joke. Only for 1 year! After you spend that kind of money, you should have a lifetime guarantee. What really makes me mad and sick is how much a paid visit is. For just and eye exam $230! I could have gotten 3 eye exams from another provider for that price. That price was including a cash, same day pay, discount. You get fooled by the nice nurses, free cookies, coffee, and office. If I was to do it all over again I would have done more research and gotten consultations from other providers. I called to let them know of my dissatisfaction of the price and they don't care. Oh well, sorry you feel that way. Sorry, I'll be taking my business elsewhere and NOT recommending you to anyone. Like the other reviews state the doctor is quite arrogant and doesn't have patience. There are many reviews not in his favor but in the office he has each room filled with thank you cards from previous patients about how wonderful their lives are after surgery. read more

I had a consultation at Alexander, and I was a candidate for PRK surgery. I had my pre-op exam, and everything looked good and was a go. I was scheduled for surgery, given prescriptions to fill, sold eye drops and vitamins in their office. Most everything was done by his assistant, when he came in at the end I had one question in particular about the Mitomycin (cancer drug) that is applied to the eye at the end of surgery. Alexander was belittling and arrogant in answering saying that I need to just trust my Dr. (this was literally after meeting him for 1 minute that I was supposed to implicitly trust him???) and he asked how would I be able to have any knowledge on the subject? I was unsettled by his treatment of me, as I deserve to know all about what is going to be done to my eyes, but was going ahead with the surgery. Two days later, the day before surgery I called the office to ask a couple more final questions and mention I was hurt by his answer to one of my questions just in order to feel settled and ready for surgery. His assistant called back shortly after that to inform me that the Dr. was cancelling my surgery, really...??? So, I suppose if you implicitly trust all doctors, you don't ask any questions out of the ordinary, and you don't have feelings or like being belittled than you could be fine having surgery there. I was also not reimbursed for the hundreds of dollars I spent on the prescriptions they had me fill and the vitamins I was told to start taking right away. They did take the eye drops back, but I couldn't return the vitamins because they were open...well yeah they were open because you said to take them...Poor business practices and poor people skills. read more

I spent a couple years researching lasik and weighing pros and cons to having it done (I am nearsighted, I need glasses and had recently gotten my first pair with bifocals) - I visited a lasik surgeon in Green Bay (based on an insurance recommendation) and was not all pleased with the hidden costs, lax follow up care process and pressure to schedule the surgery -- after several friends recommended Dr Alexander I made another appointment for a new consultation and all I can say is....I should have done it sooner! All staff I work with have been professional and made the process from start to finish quick, easy, and comfortable I am without a doubt pleased with my results (better than 20/20 vision after 4 months) and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the procedure to anyone - I would however suggest you see Dr Alexander first - dont waste your time with second best !! read more

I must express how disturbing Alexander Eye Institutes customer care is. I had laser eye surgery from them only a few years ago. They had promised that if needed, I would be able to receive a free correction should my eyes need it after they were healed. I went to my post - op appointments, and they could see that my eyes would need further correction, they expressly told me I would need it. On my last visit to determine when the next surgery would need to be scheduled they claimed my eyes were just fine, even though I couldn't read the lines for the eye exam, also doing poorly on the other tests. I was so baffled about the appointment, I left quite confused and upset. I had called to make another appointment a few months later, because my vision was continuing to decline. Not only were they very unhelpful, but rude while I was on the phone with them. I tried explaining the situation and they did not want to listen. My vision continues to deteriorate back to its original prescription. I am poor, yet saved for years to afford eye surgery. Alexander Eye Institute makes promises and breaks them, once they have your money, they readily see you out the door. I would discourage people from getting surgery from them. Find a business that will truly care for you and your health. read more
