Century 21 Coventry Real Estate

Century 21 Coventry Real Estate

(1 review)

I have to continue my review of Century 21 Coventry in SELDEN on the other location because I ran…read moreout of room. OK, so the horror continues... I was forced to pay for the three months of arrears from the tenants who skipped out on the rent as well as an additional 10 months for repairing damages done to the house as well as the wait time it took for all permits and finding a new tenant to occupy until i could sell... I spent two YEARS paying mortgage and dealing with tenant's and their entire EXTENDED family, who were totally uncooperative and eventually squatted in my home for 10 months because they did not want to be forced to leave due to the sale of the Estate home. Mind you, I had advised them of the impending sale back in January of 2017. I did not put the house up for sale until the end of May of 2017. I also foolishly gave these worthless, unscrupulous people 175 dollars a month off the rent because I "felt bad" that I was selling the home and would have to uproot them. The time had come to fulfill my promise as the market was on an upswing and I would be able to payoff the mortgage and the beneficiaries. I would not even come close to recouping what I put into the house but I went forward with my plan. I had listed the house with another agency prior to Coventry so I was not brining a NEW listing, just transferring MY own HOME from one company to the other with the CLEAR AND FULLY DISCUSSED UNDERSTANDING THAT I WOULD HANDLE THE LISTING MYSELF AND WOULD NOT REQUEST HELP AND IN TURN WOULD NOT OWE ANY FEES TO THE COMPANY FOR THE SALE OF THE HOME...MYYYYY HOME! I had never even heard of a company taking money from someone who was selling their own home once joining the office. I have spoken to many fellow agents in my current search for a tiny home of my own and all said the same thing; the broker never charged them any portion of their commission for listing and selling their own home. My home had been listed since May elsewhere! I had only begun listing it at Coventry a month or so prior to the sale of the house. I asked nothing other than the normal MLS listing of my home and a sign for the property address. The office manager as well as the broker I am certain, knew of the difficulties I was having selling the house because the tenants would not leave and I was going through the process of eviction. I don't want to make this situation about myself, but i will briefly say that over the past five years I have been very, very ill and at one point almost died 2 years ago. Just last week, having finally evicted the tenants without the help of anyone including my office and the attorney representing the sale of my home. That night, in celebration of evicting the tenants and in anticipation of the upcoming closing, I was coming home from visiting with a female friend of mine. It was dark and the road I was on was very winding. A deer jumped out into the road and just STOOD there. I had a brief moment to determine which way I would go and then it was all over. I had hit the deer and my car had gone out of control and hit a series of trees, finally being stopped by a stump in the ground. My vehicle was totaled and my hand was broken in several places. Parts of my body still hurt today from the impact. I informed the office manager of this when I had told her that I would be closing on the house and that my vehicle had been totaled. Her behavior toward me had been cordial up to this point. The closing was on the 10th in the afternoon. The 11th, the date I resigned, she called me prior to my resignation. I was in the middle of clearing out the vehicle that had belonged to my fiance before his death so that i could purchase another vehicle and return the rental I had since the accident. My beloved had given the vehicle to me in the will. The experience was terribly traumatic and I cried during the entire time. During the phone call, my manager asked me if I had the commission check. I said of course I did. She asked me to bring it to the office immediately. I explained to her that I was in the middle of clearing out the totaled vehicle and that it was my main priority. I told her I would bring the check the next morning. She called me back several minutes later telling me that HER BROKER wanted her to get the check herself. I was confused as to the sense of urgency but told her that I didn't want to inconvenience her and that when I was done I would bring the check. She commented that she must have the check to be in order to cut a check for ME! When I got there, she practically snatched the check from my hand. I said "------, I know I don't need to remind you but just so we are on the same page, we agreed that the office would not be taking any portion of this commission as it was not only the estate of my late fiance, I have done as promised and did not come to you for anything during this transaction." She looked up, not AT me and said, "I never agreed to that". She is LYING AND STEALING my COMMISSION!
