I wasn't trying to get a rental apartment-even their so called "low income" apartments are ridiculously expensive and not a help at all for an ACTUAL low income person. I had taken the first time homebuyer course and paid $75 for it, then you take an easy-ish test and then you get the certificate and you're on your way to see a HUD counselor. Well, take a chance if you must, but I've never gotten to see said HUD counselor,and the person I was emailing with was SO RUDE and proceeded to tell me I don't have enough money (I do) and that I wouldn't be able to get a house! And they didn't even know WHAT CLASS I TOOK. HUH??? I PAID! And LIHP DOESN'T MAKE THAT DECISION, only a HUD counselor and a BANK can do that. So they just left me hanging with no certificate, no HUD meeting and an argument online!! It is not their place to tell ANYONE who can or cannot afford a home since I'm well versed in the low income housing market.Very rude, curt and uninformed.They were rude as hell to me and didn't even know what I had called them about! 3 different people were in on this email.I feel that they are NOT trying to help anyone unless you fit into their box and F U if you need more info, more cash or anything else, they just write you off. I was extremely insulted and have chosen NOT to even deal with these fools. They were not at all professional and do not deserve any state or federal funding for all the non work they do. Everyone one she referred me to mortgage company, house inspection all screwed me. I ended up spending more money after closing. A lot of mistakes done, if my agent would have been on top of everything or the process. This why you have Real Estate Agents so they can make the process a little smoother. This isn't my first purchase. This last process makes me never want to buy again in New York. The mortgage company took over 7 months to close this deal. So much lost papers I had faxed over to them. Very unprofessional. Inspection company totally missed a oil leak. Cost me a lot. This wasn't noticed until we closed and moved in. All the agent said was She felt bad that I was getting screwed by all the people she referred to me.

We lost out on the above address 3 weeks ago to a higher cash buyer, no problem there. Our agent gets a call this past Friday asking if we were still interested. We were even good enough to honor our original offer. Lauren demanded we be fast and get the home inspected ASAP so we can move to contract. We were excited so we had the home inspection Monday, Tuesday my wife and I signed their papers at our lawyers and signed a 10 percent down payment check. We get the call today that the original buyers offered more and more up front and our offer was no longer accepted. So we run around like chickens without heads so she can use our offer to leverage her original buyer. Lauren even had the nerve to say the lawyer went behind her back and made the deal, complete BS. Please do yourselves a favor and do not do business with these people. They are dishonest scum who lie, lie and lie some more. Make you jump through hoops so they can score a little higher commission and leave your family up sh/ts Updated- we also found out the listing agents husband was the investor company who owned the home. Please do your research and don't get screwed by Lauren and her husband.
