The stores are pretty much mirror images, and sometimes only one location is open. I love browsing the "kitchen" items at Artesano's! Things like plastic fruits to hang on your walls and the death themed Mexican figurines. Particularly chilling is the pregnant skeleton person. There are a lot of unique items, however, they aren't hand-made. I've seen similar items in similarly themed stores all over New Hampshire and Massachusetts. They may be "unique" but they are definitely mass produced. The jewelry is always cute. I have bought a few pairs of earrings. My favorite are the crocheted flower earrings that they offer in abundance. Some of the bracelets are cheaply made though and will break if you wear them too often or hit your wrist against a hard enough surface. The prices are normal for Rockport, but still kind of high. I don't want to spend almost $20 for hand-painted plastic peppers to hang on my wall. The jewelry is priced reasonably, as are the popular clothes from Nepal. Be aware that sizes in Nepal are vastly smaller than they are here. My poor boyfriend is an average sized guy and had to buy a triple x large jacket, and that's a snug fit! Artesano's is a nice break from the usual tourist traps with their nautical themed items at inflated prices so be sure to go in and browse if you're in Rockport. You may find some cute items, and some good bargains!

They seemed to range from $1,200 to $16,000!! That's crazy to me! But hey-- someone put time and effort in their work and it is very evident! There's two floors of rooms as well as another building connected by a quaint little garden area. Since my parents had their wedding arrangement done by Leonard's decades ago, we've been coming back. In August I went with my family, we showed up and meandered around, found a few planters and a branch of a plant lying on the ground. About an 1/2 foot-sized piece of a massive massive jade plant had broken off, and dried. It was clear it had happened a while ago. I asked if it was for sale, and the woman simply let me have it! By this point it was uncertain if it would live. I planted it, and it is by far my happiest and healthiest plant. I wonder if their giant big jades are for sale... will be back to check them out soon.
