I feel like a terrible local, only now discovering this one. But then again, the locals hardly consider me, a Metro West girl who's only been here for a few years, a local. Maybe my grandkids will count as such. And besides, those damn townies don't know about this place because they all drive to Danvers to shop at Market Basket, anyhow. So, I work on Bearskin Neck and have walked by this shop for the better part of two years. I figured, it being on Main Street, it wasn't exactly the place to pick things up if you were not a tourist. On xmas eve we went in to find a last-minute gift for my brother... Geez, I've been missing out all this time. Fab little epicurean/gift shop offering an impressive selection of really nice housewares (my little brother recently bought a condo, and is just learning to cook. What geek would not appreciate split leather potholders?). They also carry provisions such as sauces and dips, teas and preserves, honeys, pastas, spices... It's a great little gem and I'm happy I finally found it, despite it taking two years for me to do so. The service is incredibly helpful and friendly as well, so besides finding awesome accoutrement to dinner, you're happy to financially support these folks. Also? Ten-minute-walk from my house. Awesome. :D

A great mix of local products and specialty products that are hard to find. The deck on the back also had an amazing view of the harbor.

It's masculine but women can wear it too and I love it. The store has a wonderful collection of jacquard French linens, olive oil soaps, lavender, French dishware - so much for a Francophile to choose from. Wonderful selection and cute store!

Pretty much all items are imported from France or Italy and appear to be high quality. La Prov has a lovely selection of brocade linens for the table, and some gorgeous clear glassware and serving dishes decorated with raised bees and dragonflies I've been admiring. They also have an extensive selection of fine soaps from France, and candles. Much in the way of home decor with a vintage flair, including reproduction advertising posters (last year, I gave one to a friend that featured seven saucy topless redheaded mermaids swimming around a bottle of seltzer water). Great for gift items, she's got a small group of music CDs featuring Edith Piaf, assortments of French or Italian music from the 40s and 50s, as well as some servingware and kitchen staples such as Fleur de Sel and Herbes de Provence. The owner is very sweet as well! Worth a stop if you are in the area.

The winding staircase is beautiful. Great spot for a photo! Yes they have bathrooms! Easily accessible! We're still confused but there's the main canal street antique mall with 2 full floors AND across the parking lot is another space on the 4th floor. They're owned by the same people, we think... we loved both places!

One of the best lobster spots in Massachusetts. Super fresh and very affordable!…read more Ambiance: Outdoor seating with seven picnic-style tables and a small standing area. I even saw someone unloading crates of fresh lobsters, which was fun to watch. The only downside is the walkway to the seating is VERY narrow. Service was quick and efficient. Clam Chowder: Thick, creamy base with lots of flavor. There were plenty of potatoes but not a ton of clams. Still, the creaminess paired really well with the lobster. Lobster: Exceptionally fresh with a slight natural sweetness. Dipping it in melted butter made it even better. I also appreciated that they pre-cracked it, which made it so much easier to eat. Lobster Roll: Loved the buttery bread it was served on. The mayo was light but flavorful, and the sides included coleslaw and potato chips.

Roy Moore Lobster is a very popular seafood spot in Bearskin Neck, Rockport!…read more It's finally lobsta season & I'm glad we got to stop by. The line is a little long but does move quick. They have tables in the back & to get there, you have to walk through this tiny alley way. Note: not many tables available. Be prepared to possibly share a table with others! Here's what we ordered from our visit: - boiled lobsters 1 1/4 lb (2)-- $18/ea - clam chowder (4)-- $7/ea - smoked salmon --$8 - hot lobster roll-- $32 - stuffed clam (2)--$3/ea - Coca Cola We decided to get the 1lb1/4 boiled lobsters. It was $18/each and we got two of them. Looking back, we probably should've just gotten the 3/$50 deal but it's okay. This comes with melted butter on the side. Lobsters were fresh & easy to eat. No complaints here. My favorite was the clam chowder! It had the perfect consistency, not runny & not too thick. It was also pretty flavorful! The only thing I would've liked to add is a little salt but other than that, very good. I'm a lover of New England Clam Chowder & this was exactly what I was looking for! Now, as for the smoked salmon, I would not order this again. I don't really know how to feel about this to be honest but it just was not my cup of tea. I like baked salmon, broiled salmon, and fried salmon, but I did not like this. Very dry & bland. I personally had the hot lobster roll, which was sautéed in butter. Not bad overall. It was not the best hot lobster roll I've had but it was serviceable. I didn't expect it to be so tiny haha. Seems like lobster rolls in general have shrunk. For the price & the size, it's not bad. I've had $50 lobster rolls that were the same size and less enjoyable, so I guess I can consider this one a win! I think next time, I will opt for a boiled lobster instead. Lastly, the stuffed clams were all right. They were okay; more stuffing than clams. The food also wasn't very hot, just warm cold. Overall, not a bad spot to hit up for some fresh seafood. Prices aren't too bad & the food is definitely fresh!
