And don't forget the penny candy (that costs more than a penny....a lot more). The entire left-hand wall is lined top to bottom with plastic bins of self-serve bulk candy. Nostalgic for Squirrel Nut Zippers? Wondering what ever happened to Teaberry Gum? Well wonder no more. From licorice to Nerds, bubble tape and flavored tootsie rolls, even those weird marshmallowy coconut watermelon slices, it's all here. Not to mention the dozens of flavors of Jelly Belly Jellybeans. Just grab a bag, fill it up, bring it to the counter for weighing and enjoy all of your favorite sweets. Or maybe a huge dill pickle or some fresh popcorn (maybe not all at once...) The Country Store has knick knacks from head to toe, and with so many different candies and trinkets to look at, it's hard to leave empty handed.

I stepped into this special space and told the older gentleman what I was looking for. He was so kind and opened every case for me to try rings on while I had my son in his infant carrier. He made me laugh and out me at ease. I kept apologizing for trying on every ring because I wanted to find "the one." It didn't end up being at this store but I would go back and certainly send folks his way! What a kind soul with a beautiful collection of jewels. Get your booty there ASAP!

They were incredibly accommodating on my dates, and were very responsive over email! Day of the event, we had arrived 10 minutes late due to traffic but they were gracious and happily waiting for us! They gave us a great rundown on how to choose our scents, and we had a wonderful time creating and naming our own candles! They laughed along with our chaos that 8 ladies bring, and I 10/10 recommend heading over to Rockport Candle Co when you're in town, and DEF recommend booking a private event with them!!!

Alexander's Pottery store is on my favorite stretch of Bearskin Neck, and kind of easy to walk by…read moresince the outside of the store really doesn't stand out. Inside though, the merchandise is really nice and unique. Obviously, all sorts of pottery pieces, and other decorative pieces by local artists. Knick knacks abound, and there's also some CDs and jewelry. Prices are aimed at tourists who want to buy a special piece of pottery crafted in Rockport. Local people won't buy their pottery at a place like Alexander's. Most shops in Rockport are like this: jacked up prices so a tourist can buy a "special" piece that people who live here know better than to buy. That being said, it is a pretty cool shop for browsing. I can't say I've ever purchased anything there. They have plenty of customers though, and the clerk is always friendly, if not a bit stand-offish. Be sure to pop in and look around.

And they've even added sandwiches and beverages (haven't had them yet but probably better than some of that fried beach stuff). The collection always changes so if you like something, buy it. Otherwise it will be gone by the time of your next visit.
