She made making a reservation a snap (you have to call), and check in and out was seamless. Being right on the main square, it's convenient to EVERYTHING in Wimberley. We parked our car on Thursday, and didn't touch it again until we left on Saturday (we are big walkers, though. But seriously, this is as convenient as it gets.) The cottage has easy access to food, art, shops, and there is a trail that starts just about 2 doors down and will take you straight to Wimberley's famous Blue Hole swimming area (just about a mile walk down an easy trail.) The cottage is quaint, cute, and cozy. The AC works well (a huge plus in summer!). The bed is very comfortable. The kitchenette isn't going to be enough to cook up anything crazy, but you can bring home leftovers, store them, and heat them the next day. There is a little balcony that overlooks Cypress Creek that's just lovely, and a gazebo in the back area where you can sit and enjoy the fantastic live music that Ino'z pub serves up next door. I went for a dip in Cypress Creek, a creek where the water is so clear that you really have no idea just how deep it is until you realize that you can't touch the bottom. Perfect for a hot summer's day! Also, there was a little inflatable boat that we took up and down the creek a couple of times just for kicks. We really enjoyed our 2 night getaway from the hubbub of the city to sleepy little Wimberley, and are eternally grateful for a nice and quiet place to stay that was so convenient!

If however you are looking for a place to relax and rejuvenate away from the big city, there is no place better. Nestled in the hill country of Texas, Canyon Sunrise offers a place to get away from it all. The Mariposa cabin is secluded, comfortable and offers everything you need (and more) in a home away from home. Private pool, private jacuzzi, country setting, comfortable accommodations. I couldn't be more pleased with my stay here. The resident cat Bob is sweet and affectionate. The scenery and solitude while sitting on the deck is priceless. After this restful weekend I feel ready to tackle yet another stressful week of work. If I ever have the opportunity to come back to Wimberley Texas, this would definitely be my go-to place to stay.

Of course nearly $200 a night feels costly when you're making the reservation, but when you are looking at the stars from the private hot tub - or from the private pool - the pain on your thinning wallet will dissipate. Everything was very clean. The sheets, comforter and towels were very clean and well laid out. That said, there were a few tiny things that could be improved upon the inside of the cabin (like not putting clean towels next to the toilet), but I don't think this is the forum to note the majority of those issues. Most important for you, gentle reader, is that you'll enjoy a getaway from the big city in this cabin. You should note though: don't expect to get great access to Cypress Creek from this cabin. The beautiful creek that snakes its way thru Wimberley is not adjacent to these cabins. Also, the majority of the access points to Cypress Creek are on private property, so I wouldn't recommend going to Wimberley to spend time near/in the creek (unless you drop a ton of cash on a rental that specifically notes that it has creek access). This cabin is perfect for a couple that needs some special, private time! It's isolated. Quiet. Secluded. Romantic. Cosy/small. It has very good vibes!

***PARENTS OF THE BRIDE REVIEW***…read more You have seen our daughter's review, so we thought it was only fair that we provide information from our vantage point as well. My wife and I have been staying at the Square Inn for many years now and have always been impressed with the wonderful hospitality provided by Marci, Lloyd and their team. From the wonderful rooms to the fresh cooked breakfast's every morning it is more like visiting family than staying in a bed and breakfast. When they started construction on their Legacy Lounge our only daughter was already engaged and looking for a venue. We immediately recommended that she consider having her wedding here and once she had a chance to take a look she was sold as well. From the very beginning Marci was there to help with suggestions for the wedding and referrals to local businesses that could help us put together the wedding my daughter wanted. Given that our daughter informed us in November she wanted to be married in late April or early May I do not think we could have put this together without her. In the end we booked not only the Legacy Lounge but all 8 rooms of the Square Inn as well. I highly recommend this arrangement as there were enough rooms for the wedding party and increased the footprint of the event allowing for a truly unique experience. We would find out as time went on that the value received on our money was greater than what we believe we would have received at any of the other venues we looked at. Marci, Lloyd and their team were again on point on the day of the wedding providing the services of wedding coordinator, bar staff and entertainment coordinator. There was never a long line at the bar. When some guests wanted to watch the hockey playoffs Marci made that happen on an outside TV. Fire Pit? Here came Lloyd to make the fire come to life. It was almost as if it were if it was one of their own children was getting married that day. At the end of the evening when it was time to go, we moved the happy couple to the front of the Square Inn where they were able to say goodbye to all their guests and finally relax for the evening. As we had booked all the rooms, only the wedding party remained after the ceremony and reception and the bride and groom were able to spend a quiet night in the courtyard with their closest friends relaxing after what had been a couple of very busy and stressful days. This was the most unique wedding we have ever attended and we cannot think of anything that could have made it better. If you are looking for a somewhere to hold a special event, do yourselves a favor and give the Legacy Lounge / Square inn a look. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

The AC unit for this is not equipped for this cabin. Now allow me to address the mice problem. I understand it is country life and this happens. The hot tub needed some attention. The filter at bottom of the tub looked like little worms coming out of the holes. They have not mowed around the cabin in about two months and the trails were over grown. House keeping needs to wash the towels with some baking soda, vinegar and laundry soap. Those towels have a horrible odor to them. The propane grill needs some maintenance on them. We tried to clean it the best we could but hey it is what it is. Other then all of this it is a quite little cabin, clean (except for mice droppings and towel's stink) and cute

I wish I had read other reviews prior to booking. We were looking for a quite place to stay in the…read morehill country for a few days. This one popped up and the pictures made it look enticing. I received the booking confirmation with instructions that a Saturday arrival needs to go to the courtesy desk at the local grocery store to get the key. We found the grocery store and went in. After several minutes of looking they did not find our envelope with the key or anything with our name on it. They said to just go out there and maybe someone was there. I looked through my emails and found another one that had shown up while we were driving with completely different instructions on how to get in. It said we were to go to the place and the key would be under a planter. We drove out a few miles and found it (difficult to find in the dark) and there were a whole bunch of people around a fire pit, several hammocks hanging in the trees and bicycles all over the place. We did not expect neighbors since that was not clear in the description. We found a small sign and a place to park on the side of the "cottage". We walked up and the key was in the door, not where it said it would be. We unloaded and as we were our neighbors (who were certainly having a good time) came over and said they were going to be there for a few days and join them if we wanted. It was a nice gesture, but not what we were expecting. Needless to say we did not get to use the hot tub, fire pit or enjoy the views as described as it was always too crowded. Later I found the info on the other half of our "private cottage" and says it sleeps 4. They had more than 4 people in there and we could hear them through the walls. The inside was ok. On the table were the rules. I am fine with rules but when they don't apply to the unit you are in it makes things confusing. They mentioned an upstairs (there isn't one), wash the dishes (there is no kitchen and the only sink is in the bathroom), that no firewood could be used, only the fake logs you buy at the store, but that the grill outside could use wood and be used as the fire pit. WHAT? None of this made sense. The bed was very uncomfortable and covered with some kind of plastic that was very loud each time you moved. The cable TV was basic, there was no wifi as described and the instructions on how to use the dvd player were wrong. The coffee maker was disgusting and partially broken. I had to clean it prior to using it and only used it once. We went into town for coffee after that. Kitchenette? Not even close. A microwave and a toaster do not make a kitchenette. There was dirt on the floors, cobwebs in most corners, hair in the drawers of the bathroom cabinets, etc etc. The only views we had were to the bushes, no sweeping views of the valley as described. It was just disappointing. We were told to do the dishes and clean everything before we left, well, we left it better than we found it for sure. We had to purchase paper towels and kleenex as no paper products were provided aside from the roll of toilet paper. This place has potential but really needs to be managed better and the descriptions are very misleading.

The bathroom has a HUGE bathtub and great walk-in shower. We bought a few groceries and used the refrigerator that is provided. In all, a pleasant experience for a 3 night getaway suite. Only reason for 1 less star is because it's not the Taj Mahal.
