I have been a patient in this medical group for 10 years. Over a year ago, I became pregnant with my 1st and about halfway through my dr. visits, I had Dr. Cardellini because my regular dr. was not available. I was so impressed that I made sure I saw her each time going forward and that she would deliver my son, Drake. I consider myself a high maintenance on the crazy side patient (low pain tolerance, asks a lot of questions) and I have sensed frustration with other doctors who have had me as a patient but not Dr. Cardellini. She has a warmth about her, an authentic concern. The main reason I switched to Dr. Cardellini is I feel she is really flexible with her opinions. She definitely knows her stuff and will express it but she listens to me and is willing to consider the emotional side of things and to even risk judgement of her peers (which is extra impressive considering she is "newer" to the group) and support her patient in choices that may not be the norm. For instance, the group agressively wanted to induce me and she listened to me and eventually became supportive in my decision to take things a bit further, even though it was not the 'standard' expected route. She is not a risk taker, in fact more on the conservative side - BUT she is willing to hear out the patient and take things on a case by case basis. I am not sure this is the norm within the group. I feel very at ease with Dr. Cardellini. She delivered my baby and yet gave me all the credit. I think my delivery was a success (despite 28 hrs of labor!) because of her presence which gave me confidence. Plus she laughed at all my husbands nervous jokes and attempts! Dr. Cardellini is a breath of fresh air to this otherwise (in my opinion) semi-stodgy practice. She warms things up there and maybe, hopefully, the others will take notice and start treating patients more like people with warmth, approachability and open minds. p.s. I must add - since I have been a patient over the course of 10 years the front desk has drastically changed for the better. They are friendly on the phone and quickly get back to you on things and seem to be happier with their jobs, therefore more friendly with the patients. read more

Dr. Cardellini is fabulous! For the first visit, she read my answers to the initial medical questionnaire thoroughly beforehand and expertly discussed it. Patiently answers all my questions (and I have lots!). Makes me feel at ease. Very personable, treats me like an individual, and is also very efficient. So happy to have found her! I was actually referred by a friend to see someone else in this office, but because of my restricted schedule, I had my first visit with Dr. Cardellini. "WOW" is right! She's very personable, patient, and knowledgeble. Who draws diagrams to show you how your body works? Dr. Cardellini does! I was comfortable telling her my problems and my horrifying past experience with another doctor. I have confidence that Dr. Cardellini can take good care of me! So I went back to her today for a minor procedure. She's awesome!! The most comfortable gyno visit I've ever had! She was very gentle and informative about each and every step. Met her for the first time today! Really enjoyed meeting her! She was so easy to talk to, friendly and calming. I get so nervous at doctors offices and yes, you may think that is silly considering I have already had two children and both were c sections but for some reason, I get nervous. The second she came in the room and we started chatting, I was able to feel more relaxed. I am really glad I am in and I look forward to more visits with her! My wife visited her today for the 1st time and she had a great experience! Dr Cardellini was professional, knowledgable and very friendly.

She is super personable and if all you need is annual checkups, then I highly recommend her. If you require more complicated care, then I would run for the hills. I expressed my concern about an issue I was having. She totally dismissed my concerns and told me to "wait it out". A specialist has since confirmed there is a real problem so basically wasted six months "waiting". . On a separate issue..I called her but instead I was essentially passed around her office like a hot potato. The other doctors in the practice gave me conflicting information and freaked me out bigtime! Only after the issue had been taken care of did she call (weeks later) to say "I had no idea this was happening". Bull! What kind of doctor doesn't check on a patient who is having a serious complication?? Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. I'm never going back. read more

Dr. Cardellini is part of the the SF women's Healthcare Group. They have 2 locations one in Laurel Village and a location downtown. I feel so lucky to come across Dr. Cardellini. She's knowlegable, friendly upbeat and sincere! She takes time with her appointments and is never in a rush. She makes you feel important and at ease. Love Dr Cardellini. I had originally found her on yelp in San Francisco when I was pregnant with my first child. She then moved to another practice in Greenbrae and I followed her there. After I got pregnant with my second child I moved to Moraga and still continued going to her. She is friendly and easy going. She listens to what your concerns are and gives you straight answers. When I became pregnant I chose Prima Medical Group for my prenatal care. I had originally cliqued with another one of the doctors but Dr. Cardellini was the one available when it came time to deliver my daughter. Having never met her before my delivery I was really nervous but she is awesome! She is so easy to talk to and very funny! I have seen her a few times since my daughter was born 2 years ago and I like her more and more every visit. She gives you her opinion but allows you to weigh in as well. I love Dr Cardellini. She is kind, gentle, easy to talk to, and knowledgeable. The only bad thing I could say is that it can take awhile to get an appointment, but if you schedule properly, it is totally fine. Where do I start to praise Dr. Cardellini?! She is amazing and I am so lucky she is my doctor. She joined this group half way thru my pregnancy. I liked all the other doctors in the practice, but immediately bonded with Dr.Cadellini. She was very patient, listened and answered all my wacky questions, and followed up with me. Most importantly, she delievered my beautiful baby...even when she was not scheduled that night. She has been extremely helpful post pregnancy as well. She's a very knowledgeable doctor that does not judge and makes you feel comfortable. As a patient, you have her full attention and are never rushed. Dr. Cardellini is hands down THE BEST GYNO EVER!!! She is so sweet, pleasant, concerned, knowledgeable, personable, funny, and VERY easy on the eyes I might add. This lady walks on water as far as Im concerned. I cant image how any women can write a bad review on her. She is AWESOME at what she does. She delivered my baby in 2010 at CMPC via C-section (2nd one), and I have a very discrete little scar to prove it. Lately I've been feeling lucky to have such outstanding health care, particularly in the wake of recent political rulings. "Dr. Lexi" has been an integral part of such care. She offers current information and solutions, while--bonus!--somehow helping me feel better about my body. She has taken stellar care of me for five years. HORRIBLE! I had a 9am apt as a new patient for annual gyno appt. I received a letter in the mail prior to the apt to fill out my med history online with a username and password. After unsuccessfully trying to use it everyday for a week I called the operator who walked me through it. She could not get it to work either. We stayed on the phone for over 30 MINUTES. She ended up saying just go early to the office and fill it out. I took off work a early but still hit some traffic on the way there. I arrived at 8:45am for a 9:00 am appt. I was immediately told I would have to reschedule because my paperwork was not done even though I was early for my appt. I explained the amount of online time I tried to get it to work, including working on it with one of their operators. She said let me check with the Dr. There was NO ONE in the waiting room, not one person! The office was completely quiet. I heard the Dr. mumble to the receptionist, then she sent the receptionist back out to inform me that the Dr. wouldn't see me. I would have to reschedule. The Dr. did not even have the decency to come out and introduce herself knowing that I was a new patient and new to the area. She obviously does not need the business. A very entitled Dr. Alexis Cardellini. What a shame that there are Dr.'s like that around. I will find a more respectful Dr. read more

zero stars here. I would warn people not to go to this physician, although a faux bubbly demeanor, if I would have listened to her, I'd be curled up in the fetal position right now. I think she would better serve her profession by either more study or doing a desk job. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Cardellini for at least 4 years. I really appreciate her being so real and approachable. On my first visit, I asked her her first name and she is quite open to patients calling her "Lexi". That was my first clue that she does not create barriers between her and her patients. She recognizes that we are all active participants in our own healthcare and that is much appreciated. She is warm, funny, authentic, personable, caring, and most of all REAL...I was initially referred to Dr Flores who happened to be out of the country when I needed a referral. So I got "Lexi" by default. And I am so glad I did. She is open in discussing concerns about menopause, she is interested in keeping your sex life active and exciting. She is open to alternative care in addition to what she provides. I could not give a higher recommendation to a doctor. She is always happy, upbeat, positive and makes me feel totally comfortable. She will also order any tests you feel you need. Her knowledge base is solid, but she is the first to acknowledge what she doesn't know. That only makes me more confident in my care. I am hopeful she will be able to see me through the rest of my years. She is the absolute BEST there is! read more

I have already thanked my friend for referring me to Dr Cardellini. I would give more stars if I could. Dr Cardellini walked in and already 'knew' me, she was so prepared. She gave me all the time I wanted to ask questions and gave the most thorough exam that I have had in quite a while. She was proactive, engaging and very aware of women's issues. But in the next breath she was the first to admit that medicine is constantly changing as are some guidelines. I appreciated her refreshing and open attitude and look forward to being in her care for many years to come.
