The front desk employee Jonathan took his time to look at my car and give a quote. After he gave me the quote I double checked with him to make sure it was correct, and took a picture of it. I told him I'm bringing cash so I need to know the exact amount. When I came back, the price on the bill was DOUBLE of what I was quoted!! When I showed the owner (Nabil) the original quote he started yelling at me and calling me "crazy" that I would think it would be that much. Excuse me??? Am I a mechanic?? YOUR GUY WROTE IT DOWN! Jonathan then admitted that he "forgot" to mention labour costs. I assumed labour was included in the total if not mentioned separately, like any normal quote would be. The owner made me feel stupid because it was "obvious" there would be labor costs. Shouldn't you tell your customers that, so they know how much they're ACTUALLY going to be paying??? How can labor costs DOUBLE the original price and yet they keep them hidden? This can't be legal, ill be looking into it. I would never have agreed to the work if I knew the real price. On top of that, the same employee told me they would waive the taxes -- but when I asked about it, the owner started screaming at me and even yelled at his own employee right in front of me. It was shocking and traumatizing. So I had to pay whatever cash I came in with, plus extra on my credit card in order to get my car back. I'm a single mom of 3 and this sticker shock seriously set me back, I was in tears when I left and the owner continued on with his angry words. If this is how they treat honest paying customers, I can only imagine how they handle their work. My car is still making noises! I walked out feeling completely scammed. I'll never go back, and I strongly recommend others to AVOID this place unless you want to be OVERCHARGED and YELLED AT!

The auto shop does not take appointment for tire change and is on a first come first serve basis, so I walked in like all other people. When I said I was there for winter tire change, the person (I later found out his name was Joe) at the front desk said "So does the rest of Richmond Hill". He later said the wait would be 2 hrs and I said I would wait. When it was time to pay, I asked if there was a discount if I paid cash. His snarky response: "I should be charging you more for fitting you in". You did not have to fit me in. I could go elsewhere, on a different day. Both comments were uncalled for and very rude. I noticed that his attitude towards others (men) in the shop was different.

I was in dire need of repair to my car because my ignition coil went out and the mechanic that I usually go to service my car was not able to get me in on that day due to other appointments. So I began looking on the internet for nearby shops but ALL were all booked up solid. I then found this place and read a couple of Google reviews and they were all positive so I decided to give them a call and see if they could squeeze me in. The Asian gentleman I spoke to right off the bat was very nice and accommodating taking the time to explain how long it would take to fix my issue and the total cost upfront not like previous calls I had made to other auto shops where some were quick, rude, and gave me bs responses like " oh I don't know exactly how much it will cost yet but i will tell you once I take a look at the issue" even after me telling them exactly what the issue was! The gentleman continued on to say that he had a couple of cars to work on but could work on my car if I could swing by within the hr. So off I went to the shop immediately and when I got there I was able to meet the gentleman whom I had spoken to over the phone and he immediately greeted me with a smile and had me fill out my contact information and took my keys. He told me I could sit and wait in the waiting room or go somewhere else and he would call me when the car would be ready. I opted to wait in their waiting room where they had a big tv with an android box for you to watch stuff and a charger to charge your phone so that you can do your phone stuff without worrying about your phone dying while waiting which was way cool! Their big couches were pretty comfy as well. Oh yeah, they have a washroom for you to use freely when nature calls. When my car was ready, the total cost was exactly the same as when he quoted me over the phone during my initial contact which was very comforting, no surprises! Just to let you know, the total price was the cheapest out of some of the auto shops that I called around earlier. I also had the opportunity to speak with the mechanic who worked on my car whose name was Michael ( super cool, chill , and knowledgable guy). He took the time to further explain in depth what he had done and offered some recommendations as well. He even took me in the back and showed me where the problem was etc which I appreciated. Overall, I had an absolute great experience at this auto shop and I will definitely come back for future things needed done to my car. If you are looking for a great and honest auto shop, look no further, this place is it! I would highly recommend this place, they provide great service, super friendly, and most importantly, NO BS UPSELL TACTICS OR HIDDEN FEES!!!

Up until yesterday before bringing my car into Midas ONLY for the safety test it was running smooth and I was aware of a weak battery which I planned to have it replaced with my buddy the mechanic. As I was waiting Midas for my car they told me that I had to change the battery and go on about the alternator. I told I'm here for a safety test and was not looking to do anything else. They keep pushing a sales on me and I kept telling them no. There was a lady that came in before me looking to get an oil change and they kept pushing her to get synthetic oil, which cost twice as much and unnecessary. She just wanted to get the regular oil change. I felt bad and kind of wanted to say something, but didn't want to make a scene. So I get my car back after refusing on several occasions to their displeasure. The moment I drove out on the way to my buddy the mechanics shop, about 10-15 mins my car starts acting erratic. All the warning lights comes on at once. My car starts shaking while it's going into gear. Eventually I would not even go pass 10km/h, this was all happening during rush hour on a busy street, it was pretty scary. I had pull my car into a parking lot and then it just completely died. I can't start it. I called Midas back and they pretty much were like " well I told you so and don't blame it on us" kind of attitude. I told them that I've been driving this car for some time and the moment I bring it to your location my car died. It just seem very suspicious since they were so aggressive about me fixing things with them. My car is currently at my friends shop and I'm not sure exactly how much it's going to cost me to fix it now. I had to pay to get it tolled. My car is a 2012 mdx, with only 113000km on it. Relative low km. Been driving smooth and no issue other then regular wear and tear, minor things. I'm just sharing my honest experiences about these guys. I basically do not trust them and I'd never go to another Midas again! It seems like they have this very aggressive, untrustworthy sales approach there, beware if you choose to go to this location, it becomes very costly! Ps I'd give them zero stars, but that's not an option so I have to bite my tongue and give them one fake star.
