Although we did have a good experience with Dr. Penhaskashi for my teenage daughter's gum surgery--and he does have a great bedside manner. My complaint? We always have to wait AT LEAST one hour or more after our appointment time before we are seen by the doctor or sometimes even before we actually get into the chair for the appointment start with the nurse. Every. Time. It is so unprofessional and rude to make patients wait. Book your patients more spread out as we always have work, school, appointments and other commitments than to sit in the waiting room for over an hour. read more

After searching online for the best Periodontists in the area I found Dr Penhaskashi who looked to be as good as it gets as far as professional credentials, education and patient reviews. I was surprised at how quickly I was able to be seen for an assessment of two issues I needed checked out. Upon arrival the office was clean and beautiful with efficient and friendly front desk people. Lorena soon took me back to a room where she took a couple of X-rays and pictures of the areas in question. She was kind, gentle and proficient with all of her tasks making the experience as pleasant as possible. I went to see this doctor that was referred by my dentist to fix a minimal gap between my crown and my gums. It was HORRIBLE!!! I spent 5/6 weeks with a terribly painful gums. I went and paid $150 for a consultation to get implants back in February. Dr Penhaskashi told me that I would first need to have a gum graft surgery before I can get new teeth. I was given 2 treatment plans one with the extractions, gum and bone graft and one with just the gum graft which means I'd have to come back for the rest later. This was this whole thing could be a six month procedure according to his assistant Margaret depending on which treatment plan I selected. It wasn't I got home that I was looking over both treatment plans that noticed there was nothing on either one regarding my temporary teeth or the actual teeth the would be placed on the stems. I called back and spoke to Margaret and asked about the rest of my teeth and why it wasn't included on my treatment plans. She said they don't do the prosthetics there and would have to go somewhere else for that. I was shocked to find that out and asked if I would be walking out of there with no teeth! She said it would have to be coordinated with whatever dentist I would go for that. I never heard of such a thing and the whole thing confused me even more than the two treatment plans which were already confusing me. I asked how that all works out with the financing, the coordinating etc. I got no answers. I also asked for a referral to a dentist he works with to get this done. Still got no answers. In my frustration of needing to get this done, I wrote a confidential letter to Dr Penhaskashi saying I want to get this done because I at the time I thought he was the most knowledgeable of all the consultations I had and I needed some answers and referrals to dentists he works with before I proceeded. I never got a reply and was forced to move on. Luckily after searching around, I found my place to have the work done with another periodontist. They are doing everything there in one place and they were super nice and understanding. I was also told that the gum graft would have done absolutely nothing for me and they further explained how they would take care of my receding gums issue. After my current consultation, the gum graft just sounded to me like another way to make more money from my already expensive mouth. At the end of the day, I have to thank Dr Penhaskashi and his not so incredible staff for not responding. I have now found the not so money hungry dental group that can take care of all my needs in one place. Not only is the new place not charging me extra for the anesthesia, whitening my teeth and mouth guard , they also taking care of a decayed tooth that needs a crown that I was not informed of during my visit with Dr Penhaskashi . My new consultation was free and it included a ct scan . They are super nice and explained everything in detail to my liking. If you need a recommendation to them hit me up. I also recommend getting several consultations until you get all the answers you're looking for. read more

I first learned about DR. P through a professional recommendation and happier I could not be! I have extensive gum recession and needed a trusted expert in tissue grafting. I had this procedure performed 20 years ago by a different perio, and this time around it was MUCH easier and tolerable. (Absolutely no discomfort during the procedure, moderate discomfort after the anesthesia wore off, and virtually no discomfort the following morning.) As for Dr. P, he's absolutely wonderful, kind, engaged, and of course expertly skilled. I've never been unnerved by any dental visit, but his practice is perfect for those who are. The office vibe is warm and comforting. (Big props to Vanessa who assisted during surgery.) Everything was carefully explained to me, and both communicated with me throughout the procedure. Dr. P is also an educator, so the some of the procedure was videoed and narrated, which I thought was super cool. When the procedure was complete, he recorded a video update for my referring dentist to keep her in the loop. Dr. P personally called me the evening after the procedure to see how I was doing and even offered his personal cell number in case the need arose. Not that many doctors do that! I had a dental implant done on the right front part of my mouth upper level. From beginning to end I have had nothing but professionalism and authentic care for my personal needs. I was referred to Dr. Penhaskashi by my wonderful dentist Dr. Susan Fredericks. The Dr. Performed gum surgery on the gums above my front 2 teeth . The gums needed to be receded for aesthetic purposes, which I requested. The staff upon entering is very professional & prompt. Their customer service whether in person , on the phone , or via text is perfect. They are currently following Covid restrictions very well . The surgery itself was honestly so relaxing . Dr. P dims the lights & has a star show projected onto the ceiling to serve as a distraction, or just simply something to look at ! INSURANCE SCAM. They provided a quote based on my insurance and I paid the balance the day of procedure. Fast forward.... I received a bill with a balance over $1k. When I called the office, Maria said to contact insurance to find out what happened -- my insurance informed me that no pre-auth was ever sent. Obviously upset, Maria didn't like my tone and words and offered a 25% discount and hung up on me. When I tried to call back, no one answered my call. Extremely unethical. Highly unprofessional. Dr. P. Is an amazing periodontist. I am a chicken in every sense of the word. He promised me it would not hurt. Of course I thought he was fibbing to the max! A toothache is unbearable, how could an implant not hurt? I hate pain, but being in pain and being sore is completely different. HE WAS RIGHT! No pain! I was lucky enough to find Dr. Penhaskashi when I developed a gum infection. I was in danger of loosing a tooth but after the laser surgery, kind of a miracle occurred and almost 2 years later, Dr P. told me today, it's as if there had been no gum disease at all. The surgery itself was nothing; by that I mean, absolutely no pain or discomfort, during or after. I even went on my planned vacation out of the country 2 weeks after the procedure Dr. P. was very kind and straightforward and very professional. The staff was friendly and helpful. I went for a consultation for a skin graft procedure. I found Dr. P to be incredibly condescending when I asked a very simple question. I scheduled the procedure and ended up having this feeling that I should cancel so I did - but they continue to call me to schedule it which to me says they're just after money. I then did some research and realized they were charging me about $1,300 more for the procedure than what is normal. I agree with what another one-star reviewer said: If it FEELS wrong it IS wrong.
