I've been going to Dr. Shaer at Smile Boutique Northridge for many years. I've had everything from cleanings, crowns and implants. My wife also goes here. It has been a wonderful experience every time. Dr. Shaer is unbelievably skilled. Even after some serious work that would otherwise take considerable healing time and require medication for managing pain, I wake up the next day as if nothing happened. Zero pain! I'm not kidding. The only explanation has to be his skill level. The man is very, very talented. He has a relaxing and fun personality. I genuinely enjoy our time together. I trust him implicitly. Yes, dental procedures can be expensive, but I never feel like I'm being sold something I don't need and you can literally see everything on the x-ray screen a few inches from your face. This is a long overdue review but I've been a patient at smile boutique for several years now and actually one of my good friends referred me to the office when I was complaining about tooth pain. She said Dr Shaer was an amazing dentist and took care of her and he'll do the same for me. I've had dental issues in the past but ignored them because I've never felt comfortable in opening my mouth. I know sad! Anyway I called to make an appointment and spoke with Nathalie and she reassured me I was in great hands and accommodated me when I requested a certain time and date. Once I walked into the office I was immediately greeted, Brendy took my X-rays and Dr Shaer came in promptly and let me know what I needed. I met with Norma and she proposed a treatment plan that I couldn't pass up! I've never had dental implants done in my life and I was so scared. They offered IV Sedation for the whole procedure and let me know what to expect from start to finish which put me at ease. They have all the latest technology from CT scans and digital X-rays and the office is super clean and cute! Long story short I am very thankful to have met Dr Shaer and they def have a returning patient. I came in for a consultation last month when looking for a new dentist and I love that this office has regular Dentist, Endodontist, and Periodontist ALL together under one roof. So convenient! Everyone was cordial, and the office was spotless! As part of the consultation, they did a CT scan, which I found VERY thorough. Their Extraction/Implant/Crown rates are incredible and their business manager, Ivan, explained that they can keep them so low because they have an in-house lab, which seems very convenient! Ultimately, I simply chose a dentist that was much closer to me in geography as I like to do my cleanings quarterly, and the half hour each way wouldn't work for me in the long run. Zero points against them, of course. I had simply misunderstood the distance in the first place. My bad. If I could scoop up their office to my neighborhood, they would become my one-stop-shop Dentist, Endodontist & Periodontist. They are second to none!! Dr. Dan is the man :-). He totally took care of me in a crisis. I had a front lower veneer pop off and he was able to squeeze me in on a Friday when everybody else was leaving town or busy. The staff at smile boutique are super friendly, and the interior is nice and spacious. But the best two things were the price and the quality. I don't know what their other services cost, but I do know what it costs normally to reattach a veneer. In Guadalajara, where I've had it done before a couple of times, I think it ran me in the neighborhood of $150 each trip. But I had to fly there, I had to pay for a hotel room, food, and transportation and everything else. In the past, I have been able to get my original Dentist, to reattach these pop offs for free, but he had told me the last time I went to see him that the future price would be 1250 to reattach one veneer. Dr. Dan did everything in 19 minutes for 200 bucks. You can't beat it!! Thank you, Dr. Dan and all the staff of Smile Boutique who were so pleasant and helpful!!! read more

I called and made an appointment. They fit me in immediately! The moment I walked into this beautiful office, I was greeted by a warm, friendly, attentive staff. I have had the worst phobia of the dentist since a traumatic experience at a young age. The reception staff were fantastic and straight away I was offered an appointment with a doctor ... who is an amazing person!! I cried trying to explain why i didn't want treatment and they listened, advised and then offered to just check the damage. I am extremely nervous about writing this review due to the fact that I am a current patient. Let me premise this with the fact that I am extremely happy with the service and treatment I receive there. The Doctors are absolutely the best in their field. I would never choose to go elsewhere for my dental work. Now having said that I will go on with the reason I felt compelled to write this in the first place. During my last few visits I have had the displeasure of dealing with and witnessing the abusive behavior of a certain dental assistant. She has been rude and rough with me personally and I have seen her be extremely abusive with her coworkers. She speaks English fluently but on occasions she will speak in another language in my presence and it's obvious that it is meant so that I can't understand what is being said. It is extremely unprofessional to do so and it feels very disrespectful. Finally on the last visit I saw and overheard her bulling one of her coworkers and handling her physically in a threatening manner. Later on I asked another assistant about the bully and she seemed nervous to talk about it and gave me the impression that that is just the way she is. I will try to avoid making an appointment when she is working until the situation improve. I really hope they read this and correct the issue before the practice, a patient, and or an employee gets hurt. read more

So firs off, I have to emphazise that I am one of those very ancious terrified of the dentist type of person. This stems from a traumatic experience that I had with another dentist, who left me with a almost 6 year ordeal of chronic dental pain. I had a root canal and with complications which forced me to pull the tooth along with a bone graft. Unfortunately, my pain never subsided so I had a flipper and pain in that area until now. I had lost my trust in dentists. So with great hesitation, I went to this dentist office, after I saw positive reviews online. My first impression of the building was not that great as it just not in the best part of town. But when I entered the building I was pleasantly surprised by the clean and modern feel. The receptionist greated my enthusiastic and friendly. I did not have to wait long and was lead into the examination room, where the dentist assistant took my x rays. This service was free of charge. Shortly after I met Dr. Shea, a young good looking doctor, whom I told my story and he listened. He first looked at my images, and then at my problem area and immediately saw that there was something stuck by the root of my tooth. I was surprised, because I had just had my roots "deep cleaned", so how could there be something stuck? Something that my previous doctor had missed all those years. Long story short, he removed the substance and because of that I scheduled the implant appointment a few days later. The price for the implant was surpirsingly reasonable. I was so scared on the day of the implant, but for no reason. Everyone calmed me down and the procedure including temporary crown did not last more then 15 min.. I had no pain. I left shortly after and am pleased to say that the whole procedure has been uneventful with no complecations. I am deeply impressed by the skill of this young dentist. You will be in good hands and I can just highly recommend him. A very happy patient. read more

*Long Review Alert* I have serious trauma and anxiety when it comes to dental work. After 15 years of fear and paranoia stemming from really bad experiences, I decided to give it another go, to correct my smile and the hereditary medical issues I've dealt with, my entire life. I started with a different practice when I moved to LA, recommended by my insurance company. That was a TOTAL FAIL, to the point where I almost gave up again. Traumatized, again. I decided to give it one last try and I'm so glad that I did. From the consultation through my first of three visits, this has been amazing. During the consultation, they found that 2 things the other practice claimed they'd fixed, just 2 months ago, were not. The procedures needed to be redone, along with the other corrective issues I'd come in for. Additionally, Dr. Shaer informed me that my wisdom teeth needed to come out. I said, "Okay". When I got to my appointment yesterday, I was TERRIFIED. There isn't enough room here to detail all of the poor experiences I've had, up to this point. Smile Boutique immediately began monitoring my BP, heart rate, and oxygen levels. This, already, was something I'd never experienced. My BP was elevated, due to my anxiety. The dental assistants talked to me, calmed me down, and my blood pressure leveled out very quickly. They then administered the COMPLIMENTARY sedation. Let me tell you. Sedation is your friend. I was coherent the entire time but felt no pain and no anxiety. In fact, I forgot that my wisdom teeth were being pulled until I got home and realized that they were gone!! The procedure was amazing. There were also the little things like every patient having a private room, not those curtains. Also, asking if I was cold then bringing me a warm, thick, weighted blanket. Escorting me to my ride in a wheelchair. The level of customer service is unlike anything I've ever experienced in a dental office. They also worked with me to get the cost as low as possible. All of the procedures I had done yesterday retailed at over 20k. My cost was less than 25% of that. Today, I am in NO pain or discomfort. None. I feel great! I am so grateful to have found Smile Boutique, and looking forward to he next step in my journey, and to my new smile, in the end. I HIGHLY recommend this practice.
