Came here on the recommendation from a friend who said it was the "best" Mexican food they have ever had. I don't live close, so it was a bit of a drive to try this place out. The parking seemed to be pretty full but I was still able to find a spot. I was seated immediately even though they were pretty full. I will say they are very clean and the staff is very friendly/attentive. The chips and salsa come out pretty quick. The chips are just okay; taste more store bought than anything else. I am used to chips that are a little saltier. I know I can add salt, but it isn't the same as putting salt right after they come out the the fryer. The salsa is really just a red sauce. It is a bit spicy but not like having a good salsa. Checking the photos, the "Flag Plate" seemed to be a good idea. It's three different enchiladas with rice and beans. And when they say "hot plate" you really need to heed that warning. I don't think my plate ever cooled to a point where I could touch it with my bare hand. But this I did appreciate. Most places, the plate goes cold so quick and the food does as well. For the Flag Plate, one enchilada is cheese, another is a sour cream chicken and the third is "Beef Spanish" whatever that means. I tried the beef and chicken and really wasn't impressed so I just ate the cheese. But speaking of cheese, there certainly is no shortage of that for the entire dish. I'm not not used to enchiladas with the amount of the cheese that goes into theirs. When I have had chicken enchiladas, all my life it has been shredded chicken in a red sauce. This was chunky chicken and some sour cream sauce and again, the heaps of cheese. I was disappointed to find out when I arrived that they are "cash only" and did not see that before. I see now some people did comment on that, but it very rare to encounter a place that is only cash. They do have an ATM inside, but of course, you have to pay a service charge for using the ATM. All in all, it was almost $30 for one person with no drinks (I only had water). For that price and being forced to pay using an ATM I would not come back here. Even had I known the cash only policy up front, I prefer to pay with a card. Less hassle than carrying cash and if you have a card that awards miles or rewards, it's always nicer to use the card. The food was okay but nothing I would go out of my way to eat as I did. read more

The food here is really good.It's a very small place. Kind of like your small town diner. I would recommend it the service.There is very well also. They are very quick with your food.Everything tastes magnificent.Your typical mexican restaurant. Only reason why I would not give them five stars.Is this is a cash only diner. He has an atm inside of the diner that you can pull cash from, but they do not accept any kind of cards, debit, master or anything. Alfredo's is one of those places you can go repeatedly and there is consistency in the food AND good service! Its a sweet southern "hole in the wall" that is clean and family friendly. They have a wide variety of Tex Mex foods that will leave you needing a nap when you leave! The appetizer of Jalitos (friend jalapeños) are a must with the ranch! They have the perfect amount of breading, salt, and spice that doesn't have your mouth burning. You can even take what you don't finish and do a perfect light warm up in the air fryer, still just as amazing! This is a must get. Really enjoyed the Flag plate as you get a variety to try: *One Cheese Verde Enchilada *One Sour Cream and Chicken Enchilada *One Beef Spanish Enchilada -served with rice and beans ...all for just $16.99! The portions are generous and this was actually two additional meals! The service is amazing! Super friendly and very attentive. With all the 4 star reviews we thought we'd give it a try. Big mistake. Starting with cheese nachos made of velveeta or some such. Cheese enchiladas with lots of velveeta, no flavor. In fact no seasoning in anything. Fajitas over cooked no flavor. It might have been the worst meal I've ever been served. read more

When I want good TexMex, Alfredo's is the place I want to go in Kingsland. Their flavors are on point and remind me of the TexMex I grew up eating in Houston at the famous El Patio. I have not found "my perfect" salsa yet, but Alfredo's comes close. In my opinion, the bar is high and my favorite salsa is at Pappasito's. I typically get cheese enchiladas and my husband never gets the same thing twice and we both agree we are thankful this small town has a one of the best TexMex places nearby. Services is really quick no matter what time of day. The only drawback for consumers is you gotta bring cash! I get it! There is an ATM machine near the register if you forget. read more

Cash only establishment (ATM inside). Locally own. The owner was very friendly and involved. Server was awesome and showed great patience with the kiddos. The food is priced appropriately. They accommodated our 14 top in less than 10 minutes. We did not order but the fajitas looked and smelled good. The enchiladas are cheesy and hot. On the expensive side for what you get. $60 for lunch. Not Mexican. Definitely kind of Taco Bellish. They don't even have horchata or Jamaica. ???? Tortillas taste like they were straight out of a HEBs store. I asked for a Carne Asada burrito and they said they don't have those but "we can make something like it. We can put the fajita in a burrito..... what?????? The service was good enough. We had about 10 different people come to our table. You have a lot of choices for Mexican food in Kingsland, but the Suarez family owned business is a local favorite. If you want a table, don't get caught standing in the "take out" line, there is a small yellow notepad near the cash register that you put your name on if you want to be seated. Not an empty table on a Friday night but we only waited ten minutes for a table. This place was ho Chips and salsa were delivered quickly and our order was taken quickly. Food was ready in ten to fifteen minutes! We had the Flag Plate (three enchiladas - one Verde w jack cheese, one sour cream w chicken, and one red sauce w beef) with rice and beans and the Two Tostadas with guacamole and sour cream. They were well seasoned and full of flavor! Yum Yum The restaurant is currently cash only, but there is an ATM inside. Also remember to BYOB! Nice to have a cold friendly with your meal. read more

we ordered fajita taco salad and regular taco salad to go was told 20 minutes got there in less than15. Food was refrigerator cold and was just not edible. It's rare to have such a positive experience at a restaurant. Not only was the food fantastic, but the wait staff was very polite and attentive, despite the fact that they were very crowded the night we went. We ordered tea and a chile con queso appetizer, and then I had burritos while my wife had enchiladas. The meat was very well-cooked (sometimes in non-franchise Mexican restaurants the meat will be slightly burned) and the melted cheese in particular was fantastic. The tables were very clean, and the prices were reasonable (all the above food was $28 + tip). I assume the wait staff pools tips, because the three waiters working all gave us equal attention. At the end of our meal, the manager on duty (maybe the owner?) gave us a free dessert because "it's your first time here, and we want you to come back." We almost never eat at a place that cares so much about our repeat business. I cannot recommend Alfredo's highly enough. If you have any appreciation for Mexican food at all you'll enjoy it. read more

Alfred's is a great local Texas Mex restraunt. It is small. However the your taste buds will expand. Great family and great food.
