Love the new look from their recent remodel! They have tons more seating and seating areas...and a really nice patio. They went all out in the renovations and it shows! It's pretty noisy, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to that or if you want an intimate meal. I read the reviews about the service being bad or slow, but we've eaten here many times over the years and have always had great service. The salsa is soooo yummy and I tried the top shelf margarita and it was very good. I ordered the shrimp ceviche, which comes as an entree. It's beautiful, fresh and delicious! My husband loved his enchilada taco plate, too! Other times we've been, we've had their super cold, TALL mugs of beer...so refreshing on a hot lake day!

My Pescado Empapelado was great! And excellent chips and salsa.

I had picked Patio 2900 at Boat Town for lunch on Memorial Day weekend. Wrong! The wait was way too long. We ended up at LTJ. They weren't busy and we were seated on the patio. Great choice, the food was excellent. I picked the Pescado Empapelado, fish and shrimp covered in veggies and cheese. It was so good! Glenda had the chicken fajita quesadilla. It was huge and she managed to finish half! Chips were ok but the salsa was great. There is a good view of the Colorado river from the patio. Excellent lunch!

Good food. Ordered thru Door Dash to our hotel. Quality often suffers with delivery orders but not from this place. Pricey but good quality.

During our weekend at Buchanan Dam we always drive into Kingland for Mexican food:breakfast. This super cute restaurant was recently renovated and has a great outdoor area with waterfront/view dining. Had a simple breakfast that was delicious! It hit the spot!

The food choices are great. They also have unusual combinations. Service is good also. I recommend it.

Renovated restaurant is so nice. Very pretty! Staff is attentive and accommodating! Manager/owner (wasn't sure), came by. Outside dining is nice even though it was a tad windy. Food is plated very nicely. Honestly didn't love all the flavors, but my Mom did. Chicken in the enchiladas is very good. Great chips and salsa.

Really expected better quality than what was delivered. Service was attentive but entrees less than par. I ordered the chicken verde enchiladas and sour cream enchiladas. The verde sauce had no tomatillo taste and was over seasoned with Mexican oregano. The chicken within was seasoned with chili powder and/or paprika making the entire experience chalked full of misc seasoning. The corn tortillas was on the mushy. The sour cream enchiladas really on the bland side. Given 3 enchiladas, there was good value for the price. The Spanish rice and refried beans tasted cheap and canned. The complimentary chips were not fresh at all which was a huge disappointment. The salsa was good. For the drinks, I ordered a top shelf margarita and Paloma. While taste was good, there was just too much ice and not enough liquid. I recommend moving on to another restaurant if seeking quality Tex-Mex and top shelf drinks.

Tacos de pescado - Fried fish tacos with all the fixings! Spicy sauce on the side is insanely good!

100/10 experience! With the new renovation just wow! This place is beautiful, service is great, a lot of the same employees still work here and the food is just as good if not better and more beautiful that it was already! Go get it!!! Thank you, we'll be back!

A great improvement on chips and salsa. More flavor with a little amount of heat. Parking is a little difficult if you don't get there early, parking lot is not that large. But the venue is nice right next to the lake. I must say every aspect seems to be a great improvement from the last time we were here. I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor of the food. Everyone in our party enjoyed what they got. My daughter got street tacos as did my wife, opting away from Fajitas due to the last experience we had here. I got the plato Texas, which is carne guisada with two cheese enchiladas, beans, rice and yes, homemade flour tortillas which were very good. Everything we got was flavorful and tasted great. The service was great, our chips is salsa was refilled before we ran out. All in all this was a great experience and a 100% upgrade from before. I don't know if anyone there read my review but everything I said that was bad was changed. Will definitely be coming back here. Great turn around.

Again, the reason I gave 4 forks rating is that they really need to get a liquor license to service beer, wine, and especially margaritas. Their food is too good to not have this. And please don't say bring it myself. The other recommendation is that they need a Del Mar Enchiladas and En Mole.

The parking seemed to be pretty full but I was still able to find a spot. I was seated immediately even though they were pretty full. I will say they are very clean and the staff is very friendly/attentive. The chips and salsa come out pretty quick. The chips are just okay; taste more store bought than anything else. I am used to chips that are a little saltier. I know I can add salt, but it isn't the same as putting salt right after they come out the the fryer. The salsa is really just a red sauce. It is a bit spicy but not like having a good salsa. Checking the photos, the "Flag Plate" seemed to be a good idea. It's three different enchiladas with rice and beans. And when they say "hot plate" you really need to heed that warning. I don't think my plate ever cooled to a point where I could touch it with my bare hand. But this I did appreciate. Most places, the plate goes cold so quick and the food does as well. For the Flag Plate, one enchilada is cheese, another is a sour cream chicken and the third is "Beef Spanish" whatever that means. I tried the beef and chicken and really wasn't impressed so I just ate the cheese. But speaking of cheese, there certainly is no shortage of that for the entire dish. I'm not not used to enchiladas with the amount of the cheese that goes into theirs. When I have had chicken enchiladas, all my life it has been shredded chicken in a red sauce. This was chunky chicken and some sour cream sauce and again, the heaps of cheese. I was disappointed to find out when I arrived that they are "cash only" and did not see that before. I see now some people did comment on that, but it very rare to encounter a place that is only cash. They do have an ATM inside, but of course, you have to pay a service charge for using the ATM. All in all, it was almost $30 for one person with no drinks (I only had water). For that price and being forced to pay using an ATM I would not come back here. Even had I known the cash only policy up front, I prefer to pay with a card. Less hassle than carrying cash and if you have a card that awards miles or rewards, it's always nicer to use the card. The food was okay but nothing I would go out of my way to eat as I did.

Hooper's is one of the most unique restaurant experiences I've ever had!…read more It's inside the restored Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) house from the movie, and walking up to it feels so unreal. Once you're inside, you can explore a lot of the house and it blew me away how much you're able to walk around and see. There's art everywhere, tons of movie memorabilia, and it kinda feels like a Texas Chainsaw museum that just happens to serve food, which is pretty awesome. The theme isn't subtle either (in the best way). One area had a bar with a severed head behind it! There are so many little details, displays and photo moments that other horror fans are going to be obsessed with too! Even the menu is fun, with stuff like the Chicken Slaughter sandwich and the Hitchhiker's grilled chicken. I know it's cheesy, but I love it, especially when the whole place is packed with memorabilia. Food was pretty good too. The experience is definitely the main event, but the food held its own as a bar and grill, and mixing that with how cool the place is made it feel like a full stop, not just a novelty visit. Service was fine but not super standout. There were only a couple staff members actively helping people while others were cleaning up, and everyone was nice enough, just not really "above and beyond." Our food also took a while for a burger and a turkey sandwich, but honestly those are my only real complaints, and I'm only even mentioning it because I'm also here to talk about the food. It was great regardless of the wait. Upstairs has a few more Leatherface items plus some gory/spooky decor, and there's a cool little location map where you can stick a pin in to indicate how far you've visited from! They also have a creepy skin looking guest book to sign, which is such a perfect touch. One real warning though: it's an old house. In Texas, Prepare for the heat, and I mean that seriously. If you want to explore outside too, come ready. I had a UV-blocking umbrella and a face mister and I was still feeling it. Sunglasses for the grounds are a must too. Also, there's a kitty living on the porch named Tuxie, and he's a precious little buddy who loves attention. Make sure you say hi. You can walk all around the property and also go upstairs to see some life size mannequins of family members. It was such a cool experience. Staff is super nice and accommodating. So finally we get to the food. Delicious. I got the chicken slaughter sandwich. It was huge. We also got the artichoke dip that was kinda thick like cream cheese.
