Tour of Italy (Ravioli, Stuffed shells, Manicotti and Spaghetti)
    Mark R.

While in Norton, Va gave Alfredo's a try. The menu is a combination of Italian and Greek. I tried the "Tour of Italy" (sample plate of ravioli, manicotti, stuffed shell and spaghetti). The pasta was not drowned in sauce, which was lightly seasoned. The service was prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was casual - nothing fancy. The overall experience was good. Next time will give the Greek menu a try. I would recommend giving Alfredo's a try. Remember, when trying new places go with an open mind.

The vibe eating outside on a cloudy 80 degree day made the experience even that more enjoyable. I apologize in advance for not remembering the actual menu names of the food we ordered, so I'm kinda winging it here. Speaking of wings, the Turkish spiced wings were so dang good! Perfectly spiced with tight and crispy skin. What a treat. The falafel app we ordered that came with hummus and babaganoush, wow. Excellent homemade falafel and you can tell the accompaniments were also made in house too. Could have eaten three more portions of the falafel by myself. The Chicken Adana kebab was moist and juicy and charred and spiced and seasoned and fantastically delicious. The basmati rice was buttery, the pita was toasted and fresh. I mean I don't know what else you can ask for. We may go back tomorrow again, it was that good! Keep up the great work Red Meze!

Yeah that didn't happen because this place was also packed on the patio LMAO So keep that in mind. Good weather=slim chances of sitting outside especially on a Saturday. But, we actually enjoyed sitting indoors, less busy inside, more quiet. The seat inside are like a bench style so keep that in mind if you are a huge privacy person. Also the tables are small so if you are ordering a appetizer try to finish before your food comes out that way she can grab it. It was very tight when the entree came. The wall has a unique aesthetic with different items stemming from their culture. Our waitress was really nice, great sense of humor, and very well dressed in appearance. She paid attention in making sure we got a refill. Appetizer: 3 triple dipper hummus where you get pita bread and 3 flavors of hummus. The jalapeno hummus is the only one that stood out with a taste and flavor. The other two tasted the same and was very bland in my opinion. I ordered the Meze Bowl with couscous and it was really good except the hummus I think it was red roasted I can't remember. I would have been happy just with the jalapeno hummus. The person who I was with ended up getting a kabob and he enjoyed his food. Will I go back ? Yes This was my first visit so next time I know what to order. But, I would be more interested in visiting on a regular weekday vs the weekend. I think people should check it out for sure!

Driving through Kimball feels like traveling back in time, long before technology and division took over this country. Unfortunately the town was left heavily damaged after two major floods a couple decades ago and a small community is all that's left. Imagine my surprise finding a Greek restaurant in that environment. When you walk inside, it hardly looks like a restaurant, but you are immediately greeted by some of the nicest people you will ever meet. The owner has been in this town and in this building her whole life and her parents were as well. There is so much history in these walls and she loves to talk about it. I could spend an afternoon just hearing about the life of this small town and how they are fighting for its recovery. As for the food, in a word: unremarkable. It was tasty and prepared well, but nothing you'll remember the day after. Prices seemed high but I imagine the overhead in this small of a town makes that unavoidable. My 5 stars are really for the people. I'd give the food/ambiance 3/5, but the people really make it a diamond in the rough. It's the only option in town anyways, but even if there were others I'd still say stop here to talk for a while!

The staff was great, the place was clean and made you feel right at home. Stopped here again just recently and was still impressed. This time I got a pizza and it was excellent. I ordered the Gyro Platter $17.99, and one 16-ounce Hawaiian Shirt IPA $5.00. Pepper shakers at the bar were filthy and had not been cleaned. I noticed that the front inner door STILL had a homemade sign on it ( please use the other door)! From my previous service with the US Government, I informed the staff once again that the door being locked or broken was a VIOLATION of the National Fire Safety Code! One member of the staff, who identified herself as a manager, retorted that the door had been broken for years, as she walked away and refused to give her name when asked. Since both doors are required to be open in case of a fire, panic, or an active shooter issue, I found her nonchalant reply UNACCEPTABLE! I reported the violation to the Johns City, fire prevention officer, Keven Hanes, both in email and by telephone message! Knowingly violating fire codes can result in fines, lawsuits, or even loss of business licence! I do pray that Johnson City will investigate this issue and take appropriate action. As of now, this broken door violation has fully served. Fire kills thousands of people in our country every year, locking or not repairing broken exit doors is nothing short of CRIMINAL! SAFETY IS EVERYONE'S BUSINESS! Let them not wait until another group dies, unable to exit!
