This place has been around forever! Good neighborhood business to have , especially when you have a project that needs done and there's a wait on parts from other big warehouses. Big warehouses don't have all the solutions. If you need a part; call , they had several we needed. I thought the price was pretty decent. It's like Ace Hardware, those are meant to service the neighborhoods they're in and that's what they do here at this store. It's an old traditional shop, so no fancy signs or anything like that. Never in my life been so disrespected for no reason. Pudgy-faced Hispanic guy declared he didn't have the PVC size pipe in my hand ... before I said anything about what I needed (which did not involve that pipe).Then he declared that he learned in kindergarten that my proposed solution could not work. I did absolutely nothing to suggest I knew anything, disrespected him, or looked down on him. I have never, ever wondered if I had been racially profiled, but I got the distinct sense that Gringos were not welcome here. Maybe the guy was just a total jerk, but it seemed like more. Old school plumbing supplies. I have always found staff to be helpful. Good supply of sinks, tubs, and showers on display. Specialization like this is so rare, especially with Menard's, Home Despot, and Lowe's dominating the market. Worth at least checking out if you're in the area and in need of plumbing supplies. I called Algor to inquire if a pedestal was in stock. At first, the receptionist who greeted me was friendly and courteous; no complaints here. I was then transferred to a salesperson who was extremely rude and condescending. He refused to help me even though I was being nice and cordial. My advice is not to be immediately hostile towards a customer even if you think someone is playing a "joke" on you, which I was not. I do not recommend doing business with Algor as the salesperson did not approach the conversation with respect and decency; instead, he approached the interaction with anger and hostility. I am open to being contacted by Algor to rectify this situation to help Algor improve its customer service. read more

He even reviewed my plans and offered suggestions that were helpful and saved me money in future design changes. They have many faucets, tubs, working toilets on hand to check out. If you can't find the part to fix your plumbing here, it doesn't exist. This place is great! I walked in with a small heavy metal sewer pipe cover and expected to get a CHEAP copy. They had the real deal made out of the exact same material as what I had in my hand and in all different sizes. They have the best trained personnel, polite and friendly. It has plenty of parking and very convenient hours. I can't wait for my next project to go back and get more parts delivered in my hand in mere minutes of walking in the door. It is a wonderful experiece, to have some place carry quality, and reasonably priced items for repair projects. read more

This is the spot if you are serious about plumbing. The difference between here and the "big box" store? Product knowledge and selection. Everyone who works there is very knowledgeable and helpful--I've never talked to someone working at a "big box" store who knew more about plumbing than I did. Not so here. They also have brands you won't find in the confines of the "big boxes"--Toto to name one. The biggest (and IMHO the best) plumbing fixture manufacturer on the entire planet is not present in ANY of the three big box stores, but they are well represented here. read more

I am sorry to see that a couple of people have downgraded the customer service of this business. I have purchased various plumbing supplies here a number of times and have always felt I got good service and good advice. That is why my husband and I went out there last week to select the fixtures for the bathrooms in the house we are moving into. We worked with Michael Amato and he was generous with both his time and his advice. We needed shower fixtures to go with a certain valve that was already installed and he had to bring us back to the ones that would work a couple of times when we noticed something across the way that was interesting. He stepped away a time or two when someone else had a question, but was back within minutes. Their prices are good, the selection is all top notch, and the service is great. I usually use Algor Plumbing supply because it's convenient and near home. I purchased and soaker tub that was great. I recently purchased fixtures for the tub on Jan 2014, I clearly mention to the sales Rep Mr Mike Amato that I was NOT going be installing them for a couple months which he said that if I had any problems he would give me a refund with the recipe ! I went in today because I was missing a 12$ part that he said should of came in the box. He said he is not responsible and that I would have to pay for the part. THEY DONT HONOR THERE PRODUCT, and he was very disrespectful. I filed a complaint with bbb. Price for the fixtures $708.12 read more

It's kind of man-land in there, but they are really nice and helpful (especially considering how little I knew about the faucet I needed to fix). There is a showroom of new bath and kitchen fixtures that is beautiful, but thanks to their good service, I won't be needing to replace anything any time soon. The parts/service section looks like a bar. You take a number and sit down at the bar, and somebody will take care of you shortly. The guy even found my faucet (a pull-out sprayer kitchen one) in a book and photocopied the exploded view of it so I could reassemble it when I got home. I fixed my faucet for under $10. I was thinking I'd need a new one for over $100! read more

Great plumbing supply store. I bought my fixtures there when I gutted my bathroom and I found the prices reasonable and the selection wonderful. My mom is gutting her bath as well and has traveled here from the northern suburbs to buy her fixtures. She reported she liked the selection better at this store and she was able to find a vanity tall enough for for her. She was told at other stores she would have to custom build what she wanted. Luckily she found what she needed here. She found the staff very helpful and friendly. read more

I have been a long time customer of Algor Plumbing. Have purchased kitchen faucets, bathroom fixture, etc. But, I do not know what happened there over the pass few months. Went in to order shower arm, head, trim kits and whole works. Scheduled plumber around same time to perform the work to fit my schedule and the plumbers availability based on Algor's representation. At time of order gave me approximate arrive time of shower fixture (value, head, trim, etc.) called after expected date passed and after a month and half of hearing nothing from them. Called several times to inquire one person said order shipped and gave me a date then date passed called back another person had no idea when my order was to come in. This happened twice. Then, talked to someone else and that person had no idea when my order was coming in and that some recent orders were not coming until June. Also, gave me the old Covid-19 excuse that supplier had. Covid-19 been around for almost a year so that is getting old. If you know the manufacturer has no idea when product is coming in then change manufacturers and drop that line. This place is living on their old laurels and the owner needs to wise up that I will probably never shop their again because they have cost me a lot of time and effort trying to figure when if ever this product is coming in. I have already gone to plan B to go someplace else. read more

It may be a little overwhelming and "different" at first but everyone there is very helpful and knowlegable. Most important to me is I can buy fixtures, hardware, parts and other items I just can't find anywhere else.
