I came here for a furnace ignitor, but I think I'm the one who left out of there ignited! When the clerk told me the price I told him it was half that price last time I bought one there he said "maybe 20 years ago". It wasn't even half as long. I understand the prices have gone up, but this is gouging! He didn't off price matching or even a discount. Next time do your homework online and call ahead first. I don't even really need this part but I didn't want to get caught with my pants down and I was already there. Oh well. Our experience with purchasing a special instant hot water system from Consumer Supply on Lake Street in Chicago was Excellent a few years ago. They had access to all brands and fairly discounted prices. When we needed a part recently, Joe C, was unbelievably helpful in finding what was the correct part and getting it quickly shipped to us. Walked in on Saturday, Feb 27th around 12:33p looking for bathroom and kitchen fixtures for 7 of my properties. No one offered any help on the kitchen and bath side. As I walked through the store looking no offered any help. However, several other individuals walked in and of course they couldn't even get through the door good enough before they offered their assistances. The only person that was willing to help was the gentleman that helped answered my questions about tank less hot water heaters that was when I first walked in before you go up to the steps on the other side. The staff dealing with kitchens and baths looked at a me as though I couldn't afford anything in their store. Mind you I am an owner of 27 properties total and very good career. I guess it was the color of my skin..hmmm! Well its their lost as well any referrals they would have gotten. I hope they stay in business because in today's times most business don't last long. Came to return a faucet after two weeks of purchase. My plumber said that only cold water was coming out although they had water mixed. I informed him I wasn't able to answer if it was defective or not. I informed the man who saw me that I can't answer any more technical questions because I'm not a plumber. I also informed him that we were under a time constraint so our plumber brought a faucet himself. The man repeated twice that the warranty requires them to talk to the plumber. I asked them if that means that despite it being less than 30 days since purchase if they are informing me that they would not refund. To which the man told me that I "have attitude" and they "don't have time to waste on you". I informed the man that the statement was very rude and that I would have to record them on video so other people can see how the company representative talks to the customers. He promptly disappeared and then came back and offered a refund. After which he said that he was just trying to inform me of how they do things. I said I didn't want to write a negative review I was just upset at how he talked to me and that 1) he called me rude, 2)told me I have attitude, 3) told me he doesn't have time to waste on me. He responded with "do you even hear yourself right now". Have done a lot of business here before and recommended this place but no more. I don't understand why people can't handle their statements repeated back to them and why can't people just be nice to their customers. Interesting thing is a a I was leaving a gentleman behind me who was waiting was asked by one of the staff members if he has been helped and as the man started responding the staff member started repeating over him to call the phone number and the plaque as if he didn't have time to listen to the answer he asked for. Another customer waiting in a vehicle laughed loudly at the stupidity of the situation. It seems like the attitude of disregard for their customers is a trademark for this company. read more

We finally finished our kitchen renovation after a long few months. One of the front(faux) cabinet drawers had to be ordered 3x because it was not the right dimension that fit with the other cabinets and drawers. It was an eyesore and something I wasn't willing to compromise on and just letting it be. I was disappointed we had to pay for it 2x when reordering this specific piece (via Schrock cabinets) but then finally after the 3rd complaint, Mark took care of it (no charge) and shipped it to us within a few days. I needed a new tankless water heater. Consumers had the exact one I wanted in stock and for a good price. With Covid, they are doing curbside pickup orders and the process couldn't have been easier or safer. I called and spoke to a friendly person who took my order over the phone. When I got to consumers, I called and said I had arrived. They asked me to pop my trunk and within 2 minutes someone came out and loaded the tankless water heater and closed my trunk. There was zero contact. 100% safe. I really appreciate they are staying open right now. They have clearly figured out a good way to take care of their customers efficiently and safely. I highly recommend them and will be back to look at bathroom fixtures when their showroom reopens. read more

Upon arrival I wasn't sure what to expect, but their showroom is beautiful and they have amazing quality pieces. We were time crunched to get a toilet and vanity installed and they had both. The Toto toilet was cheaper then any place I could find online and I could take home same day. I found this place on Yelp and thought I have nothing to lose after going to a few places and not finding what we wanted. I wish I had gone here first and saved myself the hassle and stress! The week before we had come across it and bought a toilet and medicine cabinet that were in stock and just what we were looking for. The customer service, range of products, and prices were superb. If you are looking for contemporary and modern fixtures within a short amount of time, this is the place to go. We were quoted a lower price than Home Depot for a Kohler bathtub with delivery next day to the store, compared to 7-10 days with Home Depot. Salesman Joe not only spent a couple of hours with me as I decided on a bathtub(which we needed immediately), but also gave me a good deal on a shower door, phoned at least 5 places when a drain for the faucets we wanted was out of stock and then proceeded to follow up with phone calls to his supplier once he had faxed the order to ensure it took place, then he called me the next day to confirm the part had arrived and was ready for pick up. This is definetely the first place we will go to for any future remodelling needs. Parking is easy outside and the guys who bring your order and load it in your car are super helpful as well. From the phone call to entering the store I was pleasantly surprised with the clean, organized, friendly and professionalism given me. Need tools? These are hanging above and behind the cash register with excellent price points that are easy to read. They've been in business since 1939 and have everything from radiators, plumbing parts plus a fabulous, and I mean fabulous, showroom for shower doors, vanities, bathroom and kitchen faucets, and so on. I only needed a Grohe stem valve and was sold two just to make sure that I had the right one for installation. I was told that I could bring back the one that was incorrect, which was handled with a short friendly credit. My next purchase is a shower door. Free parking in front and on the store's side. Prices are reasonable and you can find high end merchandise that is not available at big box chains. Their customer service is polite, knowledgeable, and very professional. I needed a new Grohe cartridge for my shower mixer. I was able to find the name brand and had no issues replacing the knock-off brand I ordered from Home Depot. I placed an order for Burnham Baseray Cast iron baseboard heaters over the phone with Kenny on April 21. He was super helpful and even drew a diagram of how the baseboards were installed. He also added all of the accessories that we would need to install the baseboard to our order - valves etc... We received the shipment via a freight company on May 5th. The delivery slip said one skid clear shrink wrapped intact and signed for the shipment. My plumber opened the shrink wrap when he came to install the baseboard and called me to ask where all the accessories were and if there was a separate box. I immediately called Kenny inquiring if the accessories he added to my order were on the skid or in a separate box. He said a separate box and they would have been under the shrink wrap. I stated they weren't and even a sent a picture of the skid we received. He stated since it was over a month he would not send them, but I could pay for replacements. Why would I pay for something twice!! He didn't even check with his warehouse or employee who had packed the shipment. I am sure there is a box in his warehouse that has my name on it. I was originally impressed with the customer service, but am appalled at how the transaction ended. He takes a look at it for maybe ten seconds and then says "I think I have what you need". He walks over to the this wall and looks it over for a second and grabs a part... He continues to open it up and BOOM right piece first try! I tell him that's awesome he got it on the first try. He says "When you got it you got it". A great place and it's nice it is family owned. I went in looking for a part for a dripping grohe shower and they were very helpful in finding the correct replacement part. The price was reasonable (slightly higher than online places) from the prices I found online at other sites. What I didn't care for was that the replacement piece was not a genuine grohe part but a generic part that fits multiple brands. It still seems high quality and has fixed the dripping problem. Though for an authorized Grohe dealer, I would have expected to receive a genuine replacement part. I am glad to support a small, family-owned business though. They also seem to have really good sales on very high-end toilets and sinks. read more

This company has the best customer service by far compare to other online companies. My husband and I ordered a washlet from them a couple weeks ago. Due to the mistake of UPS, the package was lost. We emailed them about the issue at night. They replied within a hour. We exchanged emails a couple more times regarding the package. Their replies were always speedy and polite. A week later, they sent us a replacement even though it's clearly not their fault (as UPS should be responsible for the lost.) I went to Consumers Supply to replace a sump pump battery that I think I purchased there - since it might have still be covered by a warranty. And though they couldn't help me, they sure tried. First they told me I needed a receipt, which I didn't have and I asked what I could do. They asked when I thought I'd made the purchase and then they checked all their sales within a few months of that date. No luck. They suggested I get in touch with my credit card company and ask for reprints of my statements, from which they could locate the sale. I did that and struck out again, but I was impressed with the amount of time and effort they gave me on something they stood to make no money on. Good Folks. read more
