I really do not like leaving bad reviews, but I have an urgent situation that is not being addressed. I was seen by Dr Shirzadi on 1/10/24 and he referred me for an outpatient procedure to solve an extreme pain issue. I have tried to schedule the procedure but they do not have the referral requisition for the procedure. It's been two days now (1/12/24) and I have tried to resolve it with Dr Shirzadi's office and all they say is he hasn't signed the order yet. Even the staff at the outpatient procedure office tried to help by calling Dr shirzadi and they were told the same thing. Now I am going into the weekend with my symptoms worsening and I am going to have to wait. And no other treatment options were provided. 1/12/24 Update: just tried to call again to resolve the issue at 430 pm. Went straight to recording that said "the office is now closed. Normal business hours M-F till 5 pm" guess they decided to close early today. 1/17/24 update: it's been a week now and my order is still not faxed over so that I can get my procedure. I have called the office 4 times and still can't get this issue resolved. Office staff are unmotivated to assist and very short with me when I call to try to address the issue. read more

After many visits to other doctors with concerns about my many years of pain radiating from a serious accident, Dr. Shirzadi analyzed my information, print outs, cd's of MRI with some x-ray did a physical evaluation and determined that the problem is Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction. I was almost crippled and we didn't know why or what. I went to my personal doctor and she was keen on the top of my spine as the culprit. she sent me to get an MRI and then to report to Doctor Shirzadi. I did this and he looked at the test results and put me straight into the hospital and I had spine surgery the first thing that next am. He found a huge bony growth on 3 thoracic vertebrae and he had to saw, file and scrape this growth off my spine and around it to get the boney growth that was in my spinal canal and which was keeping me from any sensation of my limbs. After I awoke from the surgery he asked if I could lift my leg at all and I to my own surprise could kick straight up. The disease is called Paget's disease. What a thrill to say the least. I have recovered and am walking like new!!! Doctor Shirzadi is a most pleasant gentleman and a wonderful and talented surgeon. I thank my lucky stars for getting him as my Doctor. read more

Dr Ali Shirzadi is without question one of the top spine surgeons in the World! I had a very complex C7 T1 artificial disk replacement with severe nerve damage. Posting this review for my mom ( Janet Smith) as she didn't have a Yelp account but thinks the world of this Dr. "My mother had a VP Shunt placed in her brain by Dr. Ali Shirzadi. She said it gave her a second chance at life. He literally touched her brain and figuratively touched her heart. She loves him. " This was a very scary procedure for all of us! We were so apprehensive but thankfully she had Dr. Shirzadi who gave her a personal miracle, the best of care and the best possible results a full recovery. Her symptoms prior to the surgery included , seizures, inability to walk confidently and purposefully , forgetfulness which would in time become demensia. What a wonderful Dr! After having so many spinal issues I took my mom to see him and he scheduled surgery for the next day. He states when he opened her up there was a mess within her disk, spinal bone and nerve. He was able to fix it all after a 4 hour surgery and 5 days in ICU. He came into see her daily with a smile on his face and so personable. His assistant was also great and his PA Jessica was very good as well. Getting in to see him was a little harder due to referrals and tests asked to get before they can even schedule her but it was worth the stress and wait. So glad the Dr I work for recommended him and told me to move away from taking her to an Orthopedic surgeon. So thankful for Dr Shirzadi!!! read more

Not a fan of the office staff -- I called in as a NEW patient. Which means additional revenue to your bottom line and referrals but that didn't seem to matter. Experienced a woman who was very short with me, shut out every option I asked of her and lastly. When I asked for help to see if I could explain my condition to see if they would be the right fit for me she challenged me with, "you could try". In complete shock I hung up. I would find a hospitality coach to train them.... lost a new patient, referrals oh and some change because my condition could have been severe. But that doesn't matter I guess. read more

I first met with Dr. Shirzadi in the emergency room of Good Samaritan Hospital in September of 2016. I was in need of emergency surgery due to complications from a surgery a couple of weeks prior from another provider. Since that time I have had 3-surgeries performed by Dr. Shirzadi, with the last one being an XLIF interbody fusion in December of 2016. I cannot say enough about Dr. Shirzadi as a physician, and a person. He has provided me with exceptional care on every level. He has never been rushed when I have seen him in his office setting. He takes the time to explain things thoroughly, and he made sure he understood my concerns, and addressed them. I have left his office every time, feeling very positive, and genuinely cared for as a person, and not just a number. If I have ever needed to speak to him directly, his calls are returned promptly. During my hospital stays, each of which had been several days, he came to not only check in on me, and my physical well-being, but wanted to make sure I was doing well emotionally. He is very compassionate, and has a happy, light-hearted demeanor. I had every nurse that cared for me, without exception, tell me not only was Dr. Shirzadi a wonderful doctor, but they all loved him as a person. They told me stories of calling him in the middle of the night on multiple occasions, and how he always treated them with kindness, and respect. He was gracious to them, and didn't make them feel badly for the interruptions. That really spoke volumes to me about the kind of man he is. His office staff, Kimberly, and Tricia at the front desk are dynamite. They are always helpful, and go out of their way to do everything possible to assist you, and they always have a smile on their faces! Joanna, Dr. Shirzadi's medical assistant is also exceptional. She is so helpful with anything you might need, including refills on medications, minor medical questions, and she took the time to explain details of things I didn't understand (side effects of medications, disability paperwork, etc.) Another very personable, happy staff member who shows that high level of customer care, and makes you feel important, and not just another patient. Dr. Shirzadi, and all the support staff are delightful, competent, and go out of their way to care for you. You couldn't be in better hands! read more

Dr. Shirzadi is an outstanding neurosurgeon. I am a senior; have severe stenosis and other back problems, and went to him in severe pain, essentially unable to walk. He recommended a laminectomy and explained exactly what that would accomplish. Had the surgery; and afterward, everything was exactly as he said it would be. No longer in horrendous pain. Doctor Shirzadi can be summed up in one word and that is great. He is very thorough. My mom has been dealing with back pain for years. It has been nagging her without end for countless sleepless nights. She has been to every doctor imaginable. Every referral, every specialist from accupuncturists to heart specialist, nobody could find what was wrong. We finally stumbled upon him by luck. We came in and he looked at the mri and told us what he thinks it is: a possible tumor or lesion pushing against my mother's spine. When we heard the news, it was terrifying and calming at the same time. He took many types of Mri just to be sure. The thoroughness he had was very calming and reassuring. My mother is by nature a very neurotic person. But even she felt assured by the doctor and had a strange calm about herself going into surgery. Fast forward 3 months and she has since fully recovered and still comes in at times to have checkups. She raves about him over and over, the same story. Well, it appears that Dr. Shirzadi got wind of my critical comments and took the time to personally call me and reassure me that he IS willing to talk to all of his patients. The office staff is shared by several doctors in the same office, so he suggested that perhaps the "can't talk to the Dr." policy belonged to someone else in the office, but it was certainly NOT his policy. He has promised to speak to his office staff and clear that up. I really appreciate his calling me twice in the last 2 days to both apologize and to update me on my care. I have to admit I do not understand why such low reviews in the last two current statements. I would only hope that there were changes that have eliminated the problems. My wife's problem did not start immediately. It was two and a half years ago that she went and met with Dr. Shirzadi. The problem seemed to be of NPH or Non Pressure Hydrocephalus. My wife thereby went into for a lumbar drain which did not prove either way if it was that! Dr. Shirzadi being the kind of person you want to have as a doctor did not in the least pressure us to move forward for the insertion of the shunt into my wife's head. Moving on two years later to this last February it had seemed that my wife's condition deteriorated quite dramatically. She in the four months could not walk do to balance issues as well as bladder control ones! We liked Dr Shirzadi from the get go. His attitude and personality guided us in the right way. In early February we met with Dr. Shirzadi explaining what had happened and had another lumbar drain. This time Dr. Shirzadi told us "it is time'.... Last month my wife had the procedure and I can only thank Dr Shirzadi and the team for doing what had to be done. My wife will be in therapy for the balance issue but already things have turned tremendously positive. If you have any doubts about Dr. Shirzadi I highly suggest you research him on the web such as I did and look at videos on You Tube,etc. This is one Doctor you want on your side 100% plus. read more

There aren't enough good things I could say about Dr Shirzadi and his staff. His staff is very welcoming and helpful. They were rockstars pre-surgery and post-surgery. I came to this office because of the reviews I've read on Yelp. I now know why Dr Shirzadi had such stellar reviews. I came to Dr Shirzadi for a surgery on my skull for a Chiari I malformation. He gives thorough information in words you can actually understand. He is very down to earth and has amazing bedside manners. My incision healed very clean. I even had multiple nurses that stated how good of a doctor he is and that he is very pleasant to work with. You're in very good hands with Dr Shirzadi! read more
