I had big questions about long term investments and she told me I could save money by changing my cell plan. She came recommended from a friend, but my experience was nothing short of disappointing. The entire time we worked together she made me feel like I was lucky and she was doing me a big favor. She has some formula with some pretty antiquated forms. . I regret working with her.

After years of…read moresort-of doing things right while working, raising our kids, and not thinking much about money, my husband and I spent eight months working with Brandi on all pieces of our planning, all on Zoom making it convenient for our busy lives. We took deep dives into our short- and long-term savings/investments, budgeting, insurance and benefits, tax-related considerations, estate planning, retirement planning (and it's better than we thought!), and more. We shored up many pieces that needed an expert's touch, so have much more faith in where we are financially. Even better is that she does all of this work through a values-based lens, which really worked for us. And we can reach out to her from now on at her office hours to ask questions that come up for us. If you're looking for a comprehensive plan, and are willing to do work along the way, hire Brandi. I'm so glad that we did.

4.0 million gone and schwab did nothing but screw two handicapped guys…read more My father trusted Schwab with his life savings for decades. He loved his Schwab account. He developed dementia later in life, and I, his autistic son, went to Schwab to ask for help after noticing something was very wrong. Instead of helping, Schwab pretended to assist us -- dragging things out for nine months, answering slowly, all while running out the statute of limitations. When time expired, they told us they would do nothing to recover the money. Over $4 million dollars was stolen from his Schwab trust account. 140 checks were written from an account that should never have had checks written from it. My father NEVER wrote checks on his Schwab account -- he only used his Wells Fargo account to cover bills, protecting the principal at Schwab so it could generate income ($120k-$150k a year). Schwab never warned us, never protected him, and let criminals bleed the account dry. Because of Schwab's failure: My father died penniless in a public institution. I, his dependent son, ended up homeless. We were forced to pay $318,000 in taxes to the IRS and Franchise Tax Board -- for money that had been stolen. Schwab ran the clock out rather than helping a loyal client and his disabled son. They showed no ethics, no urgency, and no human decency. Trust Schwab if you want to risk your family's entire future.

I feel bad leaving a bad review because Francis tries and he is a small business, but I feel others…read moreshould be warned about his limitations. Francis did our taxes the past two years. Francis does not file electronically because he does not want to pay the fee to be a tax preparer, so he requires you to drop off all forms in person at his house and will not accept anything electronically. Again because he doesn't pay for the tax preparer version of TurboTax, he has you log onto his computer to access all stock transactions from any third party software like Wealthfront or eTrade, which made us very uncomfortable and need to change all our passwords. Some reading this will know that above a certain income level the IRS requires you by law to file electronically. Surprisingly Francis did not know this and was annoyed and angry when I pointed it out, and I had to argue with him to get him to figure out a way to help us file electronically (I also offered to pay him for his time and find someone else if he didn't want to do it, which he didn't want), which was very awkward. He also had never heard of a backdoor Roth and initially gave us incorrect advice, which should have been a big enough red flag not to use him. The final straw was that this year, our taxes were rejected and we are still dealing with the IRS for a claim related to our social security tax exemption being filed incorrectly. Francis is nice enough and tries very hard, but his refusal to do things electronically and his inexperience with common tax issues outside a certain income bracket would make him a poor fit for many.

How My Family Lost $6.5 Million in Property and Savings Because of Charles Schwab's Failure to Act…read more My father, a lifelong scientist, invested with Charles Schwab for decades. He had several million dollars in investments and earned over $150,000 per year in interest income -- which he lived on. He never touched the principal except on two rare occasions. When needed, he would borrow against our family homes in Marin County or Lake Tahoe -- sometimes up to $500,000 -- instead of withdrawing from his investment accounts. We didn't grow up wealthy. My father bought a small cabin on Donner Lake for $12,000 and our primary home in Marin County for $22,000. By the time this happened, those properties alone were worth nearly $3 million. In 2009, my father set up a family trust and appointed Wells Fargo as trustee, specifically to ensure I would be cared for later in life due to my autism and disabilities. He even worked seven additional years, just to make sure I would be safe. My father gave me a beautiful life. Losing him was painful. But to be defrauded -- by people we trusted to protect us -- has been a waking nightmare. As he started showing signs of dementia, I began to notice irregularities. I tried to get help from the very people we had trusted: * Our bookkeeper * My father's accountant * The Wells Fargo trust manager * A supposed assistant working with them But I quickly realized they weren't helping -- they were obstructing. They lied, manipulated documents, and rerouted my efforts every step of the way. When I began investigating, it became clear: each person had pocketed anywhere from $200,000 to over $1 million. This wasn't just theft -- this was a calculated conspiracy to defraud us, with insiders controlling access to statements, communications, and bank permissions. Ultimately, more than $3.2 million was stolen from my father's Charles Schwab account -- money he never would have touched, money meant to support me for life. Because of this theft, we were forced to sell or lost nearly $6.5 million in property and lifetime savings. Charles Schwab's fraud department -- including agents like Rena Meinki and Don Woosley -- failed to act when we reported this. Instead, they stalled for months, saying they were "investigating," only to later claim it was too late to recover anything. They knew my father never wrote checks from that Schwab account. He only used Wells Fargo for disbursements. And yet, over 140 checks were processed on the Schwab account without any endorsements, destinations, or record of deposit -- most of which were completely unauthorized. We weren't just robbed. We were betrayed -- by people who were supposed to protect us.
