Reconciling legitimate expenses is impossible; try itemizing a surgical procedure bill from NCH (a major south west Florida hospital) for the purposes of reconciliation. The onus is on me, they just reject expense. I have to spend HOURS chasing supports. What enrages me is a CVS charge is immediately approved. THIS IS MY MONEY, pay my f-ing charges! If I could put ZERO i would! I have been losing money with the small IRA I had with them. My family was hard up and needed the cash. I made 3 phone calls initially to get their "request form" filled out. Even called back to ensure I did it correctly! I scanned the pages, put it as a TIF file (as suggested in the original email from them)....I waited FOUR DAYS for someone to email me and tell me files were "corrupt" and I was missing 2 pages. Funny, I can see all the pages in the sent email and my husband and I both opened them on 3 different computers. Now I have to wait until MONDAY after paying $12 to have a check overnighted to me bc they are slow AF to give money back to their investors. Also, dont even TRY to use their website....holy crap! The amount of broken links and lack of professionalism is absolutely uncanny!!!!! What, did yall create this site in 1999 on Netscape and a dial up internet!?!?! What a JOKE! The IT department at Alight should be ashamed of themselves. The platform and user experience of Alight's technology is just so so bad. My 14 year old could code something better. My employer has us using this crap system and it is God awful. It is the most inefficient system I've ever used. Does Alight even have a UX team? Do they test their software? Do they have ... eyes? My pension was outsourced to Alight (previously Hewitt) and I tried multiple times yesterday to speak to someone who could explain to me how to change my state and federal tax withholding on future pension payments. Neither the website nor the mobile app work. Quick links on both result in error messages. I called several times and was disconnected. They just don't seem to know or have the competency to do what they claim they should do. -Their website is functional half the time and when you raise it, they claim it's cookies and cache on your end when it's never the case. -Their reimbursement team has no idea what they're doing as I've had claims filed wrongly multiple times and they reject legitimate claims over and over again even though it meets the criteria and still it gets rejected. -They are not consistent with their policy. One customer rep says one thing and another says something completely different. This has wreaked havoc on how we've planned our reimbursement accounts which by the way cannot be changed (use it or lose it) and we're out thousands because of this. -They close tickets as resolved without resolving anything which forces us to raise redundant new tickets because we can't reopen closed tickets. read more

Based on what I've learned about "Alight Solutions LLC" they have their hands in all sorts of sketchy business activities. Their former name of "Aon Hewitt" was likely changed to escape from the bad reputation they earned. Most people who run afoul of "Alight" have no idea what company they are dealing with and I suspect that is by design. My encounter with this company was with their "Dependent Services" call center which harasses people that have recently added a new dependent on their health insurance. Even though your employer probably already required you to show proof of a new dependent before adding them to your plan, Alight has made a business model of convincing other companies and government agencies that they can save them money by helping catch people lying about dependents. So when you add a new dependent, suddenly you will start getting a lot of unsolicited robocalls from a phone number identifying itself as "Dependent Services" with a pre-recorded message threatening to terminate your insurance coverage if you don't respond to the "package" they sent you. These calls will start before you even receive the "package" since they are mailing it to you from an out of state P.O. box. And neither the calls nor any of the documents in the "package" will admit that Alight is the company calling you. In fact, they will probably disguise their correspondence so that it appears to be coming from your employer, rather than a shady out of state company. It's not that providing the documentation they want is difficult. But since I already provided the documentation to my employer once, the process is redundant and unnecessary. And the fact that they are trying to hide their identity to keep you from finding out who they are is extremely suspicious. I would bet money that a lot of people refuse to respond to their communications because it looks like a scam, but when those people get their insurance benefits terminated Alight just calls it "cost savings" and marks it down as a win. read more

I can't believe how incompetent this company is and how it will not take responsibility for its errors. They seemed just okay after they took over for AON, however if you try to leave, they sure make a mess of things and don't do what they say they will do. I challenged them to go back and listen to the recorded tapes that they supposedly do during phone calls, and it just proceeded to put more blame on me. The sad thing is most people don't have a choice with this company since a company has a contract with them and you need the retirement service. Luckily my company gave us a choice to leave and stay directly with them vs Alight for all services in 2024. read more

I tried to initiate an IRA rollover, which I was told had to be initiated from the recipient institution, only to have Alight tell the receiving institution that my account number did not exist. Again - they either don't know what they're doin or they're trying to manage the news. In this case it means delaying my transfer that will close out the account. Alight Couldn't handle a simple 401k distribution via direct deposit. They sent sent me a transaction "confirmation" advising me that the requested funds would be in my account in " 1-2 business days ". 5 Business days later nothing...... after ten (10!) business days Alight advised that the receiving bank had rejected the transaction which was not attempted until SIX !!! (6) Business Days AFTER the confirmation . They never notified me of any of these matters. MY hunch is that Alight relies on outdated manual procedures..... meaning paper files and poorly trained workers. the website is merely a disguise for skeleton organization. read more

Frankly, I wish there were negative stars for this company. Alight apparently assumed management responsibility fore the Exxonmobil pension plan but have heard nothing or failed entirely to implement a seamless transition between their company and the former firm. I am an Exxon pensioner. When I retired, I also divorced. As such, I was required to secure a Qualified Domestic Relations Order for the distribution of the pension. On December 1st, my ex wife passed away. I contacted the plan and advised them and my daughter, managing her mothers estate, provided a copy of the death certificate and attempted to work with Alight's staff to establish the future distribution of the 50% of my pension. It is now nearly the end of March and Alight claims they just recently received a copy of the QDRO from the previous pension manager. My daughter and I have spoken to them on many occasions only to be told that they needed more time in 45 day increments and each time they set a new appointment and each time they said they. needed another 45 days to study the issue.???? As of yesterday, I was passed around to 6 of their associates and placed on hold, transferred to another associate who had no idea who I was or why I was transferred. The call was approximately 3 hours in length, the majority of which was spent on hold. They have been either lying about having all of the documents as they have been telling my daughter since December or lying when they told me yesterday that they just got it. They even had to put me on hold for 5 minutes in order to figure out who their CEO was and what was their mailing address . I still have no decision. I am amazed at this level of professional incompetence. Frankly, I retired from the business world as the Director of Risk Engineering and Loss Control for two of the largest insurance carriers in the US. We prided ourselves in the seamless transition between two insurance carriers when we took over a new clients program. Alight would not recognize competency or seamless transition if it bit them on the butt! If they were my claims department, I would fire each and every one from the top down as none of them appear either to know their job or be interested in doing their job. I am not leaving Exxonmobil Human Resources out of this as they do no seem interested in following the effective or ineffective performance of one of their contractors. You can bet, however, that if I displayed this level of incompetence while working for Exxon, I would have been terminated nearly immediately. read more
