I thought I needed bookkeeping services so I signed up for that. Unfortunately what I actually need is more of a tax service and they do offer tax services to their book keeping customers. However as a new business it was not in our budget to have them do the book keeping year round and taxes. I really wish we could afford it because they are so friendly and extremely informative. After learning what I needed wasn't what I thought I needed, I asked him to send me a bill for his time since I won't be using them for book keeping but he was so helpful. Then he said that it wasn't necessary. I really do hope they start offering more tax services so I can use them in the future.

Being the type of business we were, we had some challenges to overcome with our books. Caleb was very engaged in the beginning but that definitely changed. Caleb was supposed to have filed an extension on our business tax return, he admitted to the mistake and refused to fix it. Instead he filed an extension on our personal tax return without consulting my husband and I first. When asked how I was to remedy his negligence, he explained that he "doesn't give out free advice." His mistake and here we are. I never asked him to do anything for free and nor would I have expected it. I asked how to remedy his own negligence so I could do it myself. Rewind several months ago and he had his staff prematurely file our business sales and use taxes incorrectly. I had to pay a tax attorney to correct his mistake. Caleb seems like a straight forward CPA, but he's way out of his depth. He doesn't take the time to understand the books and how a business operates nor does he take the time to ask important questions. Lesson learned. Do your research and ask the right questions before hiring a CPA.

So back in about 2003, I went to Edward Jones office on Baya Drive in Lake City, FL and took their…read moreadvice in purchasing a mutual fund. Now, after well over a decade, they tell me that a new law was created that requires them to make changes to the account, and that they would charge me over $100 to facilitate that. I refused to pay that, so they let some other company take over management of my mutual fund. This new company took $150 out of the money that was in my mutual fund to open up a new account. This is theft. There is no justification for charging $150 to open a new account for a mutual fund that was purchased over a decade ago. These guys found a way to get away with theft. I'll fight this, but have little faith that I'll get my money back. I'll never do business with Edward Jones again. I'll never trust them again. Their reputation is garbage now. This feels like some kind of mafia style extortion.

Dishonest and incompetent. I tried to open a simple savings and checking account. After 2 weeks of…read moreback and forth, they finally bless me with an account. When I went to set up online banking (which I had told them many times was the only reason I needed the accounts), there was no way to set up transfers to another bank. I called support and was told they put a SIX MONTH lock on new accounts. I told them have perfect credit, in the 800s, and there is no reason at all for this. It's been a week and now, they simply refuse to respond to my requests to close the useless accounts. All I can guess is that they get credit for number of members somehow... This behavior baffles me. Bottom line is they suck and should not be trusted with your hard earned money.
