Meh and expensive Alioli might be the best Italian restaurant on the city, but that doesn't mean it's particularly good. Had the Fittura Mista which is deep fried seafood. I don't like the cornbread breading although my mom did. Dip was good through. Also had the focaccia which we were tricked into getting by the waiter. After we put in our orders he asked if we wanted focaccia, implying that it was complimentary. While it was good I felt misled as we wouldn't have ordered it if we knew it wasn't free. There are better things to get. There was a special monkfish wrapped with bacon. Overcooked and small. Vegetables that came with it was nice Mushroom risotto here is much celebrated so we had to try. This tells me the people who eat here don't get out too often. It tastes ok but clearly tasted like truffle flavour was all from a bottle they poured onto it in the end. The truffle taste felt like it was on top of the dish instead of incorporated into the dish. Overall meh. It these guys have the audacity to charge downtown toronto prices. It's not that good. Service was mediocre. Got an Italian man who looked like he was there for awhile. Said the right things but was absent most of the time. Gave me a chipped plate and instead of replacing it he said he noticed the chip too. Well that makes you look worse dude. Had leftovers and they boxed it for us. Business dinner at Alioli was a great choice! The food was excellent, with great starter choices and a wide menu. Our server was extremely knowledgeable, flexible, and appropriately attentive. We had a table for 7 in the middle of the restaurant, just inside the door, so we didn't get much of the ambiance. We started with a customized combo seafood/charcuterie platter that pushed all the buttons - highly recommended! Our main course dinners ranged from penne pasta, to short rib ravioli, to surf and turf. All were very well done, no one left disappointed. The wine flowed freely, and was very appropriate. Finally, deserts successfully brought a great evening to an end. Location and parking are a little different, but in the end was absolutely no problem. Larger groups weren't an issue, the evening flowed smoothly. I'd give it another half point if I could, it's worth giving a try. read more

I went here with my friends to celebrate a joint birthday. The ambiance was great and the restaurant wasn't too crowded. The waiter was very informative of the menu and answered all our questions. The pastas were all good and well cooked. One thing is that distilled water actually costs some money. It is 17 bucks for 2 small jugs of water. I would recommend just getting tap water. Furthermore, the waiter seemed to be in a bit of a hurry to get us out. He kept coming back and asking if we were going to order dessert. Waiter recommended the focaccia bread with our pastas, great suggestion and loved using it to soak up the extra sauce. Service was decent, kind and attentive but they were very busy the night we were in, and the place was pretty loud (lots of conversation noise and service staff movement). Located in Mississauga, it's right off of Burnamthorpe Road W and Confederation Parkway. I'd say this is sort of like a downtown for Mississauga, especially since parking is paid around here. We wanted to try this place out, since we love Italian food and tried a place similar out in Port Credit, we we decided to hit this place up! Alioli Restoranté is a fine dining Italian restaurant, which has their own private parking spaces. Masks are mandatory and worn by all servers, all the time. You can remove your mask when sat down. The patio is set up with wind resistant measures and a bunch of heaters inside for the winter. (Thankfully today was a warm day, so no need for the heaters) The inside of the restaurant has a great wine collection on their wine wall, temperature checks upon arrival, contact tracing. The menu is available on your own phone, all you have to do is scan a QR code to get it on your phone. Not a bad selection of food, lots of recommendations and very polite staff. Since this was our first time here, we didn't know what was good but what's to come will definitely surprise you! We ordered an app to share, just in case it wasn't good - and ordered the Calimari Alla Griglia which consists of grilled squid, red onion, capers, diced tomatoes and olive tapenade. It honestly tasted amazing but for $19, I guess it should be, right? I had the Rigatoni Rustica, rigatoni with rosemary marinated beef tenderloin strips, mushrooms, spinach, cream sauce topped with toasted walnuts. Tina had the Gnocchi with shrimp, diced tomatoes, green onion and rose sauce (Gnocchi Con Gamberi). My pasta tasted amazing, the sauce was great, beef was cooked well, pasta nice and hot, eat it with the spinach per bite altogether and it's to die for. Towards the end, I asked for a little more fresh ground pepper and cheese, the server did sprinkle too much of the cheese onto the dish, but it was towards me finishing the dish, so I didn't mind. The gnocchi with shrimp had big fresh pieces of shrimp, which tasted great. The gnocchi tasted amazing too but we found the sauce a little too rich for our liking. Service was great. The entire patio was packed up, and regulars do come by, so we're impressed. We also ordered a Bellini but unfortunately something flew in it and they replaced it for us. I've seen this place driving around Mississauga city centre but never visited before. Came here on a Saturday with no reservations. They said we'll see what we can do. At that point, there were a lot of empty tables, so I thought, what's there to see? Well, It became busy really quick with at least seven birthday celebrations. This place was really busy! Despite the busyness, the service was superb. Very high class service. There was a guy playing saxophone and clarinet. The view of the bar area is really beautiful. They have glass shelves showing off different bottles of wine. I would classify this place as fine dining. I didn't know that before picking this place to eat at randomly. The food is superb. Had the salmon roulette with veggies. Very tasty. It's was their special for the night and it came with lots of crab meat. They take pride in giving you cold glasses with your beer. I gave waiter $200.00 He never returned until until we stood up to leave then he ran across the floor and within inches of a table of 8 or 10 saying loudly you haven't given me enough money...the bill is $259..... I said no way.......and he showed me bill again saying $159.00 He left..rushed back with a second bill with an add on item for $89.00...I said what is this ? This doesn't belong to me (keep in mind we were the only table of 2 in the restaurant). After waiting awhile we went to till. After continued dispute and people standing beside us waiting to be seated , he said oh sorry and we left. I resent leaving him any tip after that fiasco... This fancy Italian restaurant located in the heart of Mississauga was a splendid surprise. I went here with my family to celebrate my mom's birthday. We had an amazing time and quite enjoyed the food. Some random points: - there's live music! A performer played some nice tunes on the saxophone and clarinet - the complimentary bread is super addictive - the menu isn't super strict and you are allowed to substitute some items in the dishes within reasonable limits (we were allowed to change the spaghetti to fettuccine) - the pizzas are thin crust and quite filling - the waiters are very friendly and check up on you regularly - the squid appetizers are very tasty although a little pricey in my opinion - the decor is very nice - make sure you come well dressed to take nice pictures and to fit in with most of the customers who come in quite well dressed read more

If we could give zero stars we would. Husband ordered the calamari appetizer and I had the focaccia. The two tiny pieces of calamari were dry and burnt with a huge portion of dirty unwashed radicchio and wilted arugula (nothing fresh here). The focaccia was okay but cold. They never offered balsamic (we had to ask). The fish came and it was also incredibly tiny (the size of two fingers put together). The pasta needed an accommodation for which we were charged an arm and a leg to remove an item (not like we asked for an additional item). When we asked the Italian server about the tiny portions that were of poor quality he said the owners are not Italian and have made them skimp on the quality (they pre-cut everything including the meat, seafood and fish, ruining the cut and quality to gauge customers). He suggested an authentic Italian restaurant and we can say the food elsewhere is waaaaay better in quality and pricing. For example, our dinner here was $150 for 2 appetizers and 2 dinners whereas at the other sophisticated Italian restaurant of better quality we spent $103 and had 3 appetizers, 2 dinners, 3 desserts and 2 drinks. It's not so much the price because we frequent establishments like Louis Louix and Canoe but the prices here do NOT reflect the quality. The owners have had many customers complain (we saw a few tables approach) and they shrug them off with no offer of complimentary services. This is horrible to see especially when done to elders. Will not be coming back as there is no authentic Italian ambiance here. read more

I can honestly say that Alioli, in my opinion, is the best restaurant in Mississauga. The food is absolutely and consistently delicious. The atmosphere and hospitality are top notch and I have left the restaurant every time having had a wonderful experience. I also have to commend them for adapting so well to COVID policies and running a wonderful patio. My Top Picks: * Risotto con Funghi Absolutely to die for. Best mushroom risotto I have ever had hands down. If you try any dish here have this. * Spaghetti Pescatore Delicious and light with plenty of seafood * Focaccia Fresh in-house made focaccia. What a spectacular night it was!!! On Monday evening, the restaurant was quite empty, but we didn't mind it as we wanted an intimate dinner as it was our anniversary. The service was wonderful and the manager came to talk to us twice. We had the soup of the day which was tomato based with clams, seafood and some veggies. It was light, but tasteful. I could have eaten another bowl. We were sharing it, so they were nice enough to give it to us in 2 separate bowls. I ordered grilled chicken with sun dried tomatoes with a pesto sauce penne dish and it didn't disappoint. The pasta was tender and flavourful! It was just the right amount of pasta (even though I took some home as I didn't want to be too full). My partner had the tomato sauce with spaghetti and seafood. He also loved it and because he was anxious and nervous, he too didn't finish it. Why?? Well... he surprised me in a big way by asking me 2 special questions. Verdict: Great food and great memories!! We were looking for a place to hold our office Christmas party. Having been to Alioli for business dinners years ago for previous company, I decided to contact them. They were fast in their response (while a another place could not even be bothered to get back to us) and worked with us on various options. We decided to rent the restaurant for the night, and started with a cocktail hour and hors d'oeuvres, followed by an incredible dinner. (The hors d'oeuvres themselves were so good we were worried we wouldn't have room for dinner!) The staff was personable, friendly, fun, as was the owner, and they definitely knew what they were doing. The drinks were amazing. Great selection. The party was a huge success. I was told several times that by employees that "it was the best company party they'd ever had." I even received several emails in the days following raving about it. I definitely recommend Alioli Ristorante. They did not let me down--I'm glad I remembered this gem when looking for a place to host the party. Thank you to Massimo and his incredible team! A hidden gem in Mississauga! Everything is FRESHLY made and you probably have not tasted a tiramisu like this one. Trust me... get it. The funghi risotto is amazing - that wine really comes through. The fried calamari with shrimp... not chewy and the shrimp so plump. Shrimp gnocchi - you know when you take your bite that it was made fresh. The service was great and the cutlery and dishware sparkling clean. And best of all... they heat up those plates and your food stays HOT! We haven't been since COVID. Nothing has changed. Food continues to be excellent and well as the service. Started with the focaccia. Nice & warm. The calamari alla griglia was a perfect starter. Nicely grilled and tender. All entrees we're thoroughly enjoyed. The highlights included the specials: Swordfish/trout/shrimp and swordfish pasta. The traditional rigatoni rustica was delightful. I also ordered the special on the menu which is a grilled fish on the menu and it tasted too salty. I've passed by this restaurant multiple times, but yet I never thought much of it until I attended a corporate dinner. I didn't realize both indoor and outdoor dining was so spacious! We sat at the patio and I immediately noticed there were also heaters ready for fall/cooler season which is great to be able to extend patio season. It is upscale but very welcoming. There were other business dinners and family dinners alike. Our waiter was very knowledgable on the products and gave us great recommendations. We had the seafood platter, the special white fish of the day, and gelato. All were delicious and great portion sizes. I was quite content with the fullness after the meal. The sun was bright in the area of the patio we were sitting at, which was the only downfall. Unfortunately their curtains are more for rain as they are clear plastic and don't block any sun that can shine into your eyes from the condo reflections across the street. read more

Came here for dinner on a Sunday at 6:30pm with a reservation. The restaurant had a more elegant ambience than I expected. The ambience is in line with the menu prices though ;) The restaurant was was dimly lit and would be a good setting for a romantic night out, except that it was noisy - apparently it was busier than usual though since it was the 2nd last day for the Buytopia promotion. The complimentary bread and dessert were the highlights for me. We ordered: *Pizza Pastore appetizer - goat cheese, bell pepper, sun-dried tomato, pesto sauce. Good overall and I liked that they split it into 2 plates for my husband and I. *Spaghetti Pescatore - pasta with a generous portion of scallops, calamari, crab, and shrimp. Good tomato sauce. *Atlantic Salmon with potato and veggies - husband enjoyed it *Chocolate bomb - chocolate lava cake with ice cream for a satisfying end to the meal :) Service was quick and friendly. We had a Buytopia voucher ($49 for 1 appetizer & 2 mains) so saved about $25. HIDDEN GEM...finally! I haven't been surprised by a place in a while. Apparently Alioli has been around for 19 years, so why haven't I gone?? Maybe partially 'cause I think Italian restos are kinda overpriced/taking it for granted/forgo it to try other places? As soon as I stepped in, for dinner, I was asked if I had reservations...on a Monday...in Mississauga. However, truth be told, restaurant was quite full during the middle of my meal. The waiter who delivered specials of the day, did so by memory, but I could barely hear him. Just too many dishes with lotsa details and a lot of background noise. I wished that they were written down - WITH PRICES - so that I didn't have to inquire about that. Water was constantly refilled. And waiters did check it, but weren't overbearing. Sure, one of the waiter was slightly surly/has a specific sense of humour, but after chatting with him, he's been there for 13 years and is sometimes rudely summoned by patrons while he's in the middle of collecting a cheque. (Sometimes you gotta understand people before dismissing them as "rude", "giving bad service", etc.) Dishes arrived shortly after ordering, I'd say within 10mins. Penne a la Vodka ($21) was nice 'n creamy, good 2 portions full. I ate a little bit more than half of my plate. I had a taste of the Pizza Pastore ($17) and it was nice 'n thin, althought I preferred my pasta. Place is NOT cheap, see: white table clothes/napkins. So I know it's not a place that I'm going to frequent. It would be nice for a higher-end business meal or bday or date night. Each app was at least $12-15 with pastas in the $20-25 range and fish/meat dishes in the $25-30 range. Sorta like Keg prices. Minus stars for somewhat loud atmosphere. read more

If your looking for a warm outdoor patio Alioli has a welcoming, cozy setup! I found the food okay. In my opinion, the focaccia was fluffy and warm but lacked flavour, the Fruittura Mista had an off putting taste, almost like a charred/smokey undertone. For my main, which was the penne alioli, I was disappointed to see cubbed chicken on my plate. Personally, not a fan of cubbed chicken at all, so if you aren't either I'd advise against this dish. The pasta was okay but I expected better from this highly rated Italian restaurant! For dessert, the cream cheese cake with seasonal fruit however extremely over sweet and lacked freshness.
