Fantastic experience! To start off, my wife has a plethora of allergies including the entire celery family (Parsley, Carrots, Dill, Coriander, Celery...), shellfish, lactose intolerance. We have been to quite a few restaurants together, and she usually ends up with a few hives. At Cucci, she had the "best steak" she has ever eaten and did not experience a single allergic reaction. The food is exceptional! I have tried 3 - 4 appetizers, the creme brulee, the lobster, the steak, soups and a few custom cocktails. I have enjoyed every part of every meal. It's a bit pricey, but that's what it costs for food this good. We were looking for dinner place near Oakville on spot and was able to make reservations at this restaurant. It turned out to be a great fine dining experience. Food quality was 4.5 stars and service was just average (server had to ask us to repeat our orders several time). This place offered larger than average plates for everything, so we over ordered for our dinner. We ordered two appetizers to start with and they gave us yummy bread prior to serving the dishes. The housemade butter was really good, soft and flavourful. The beet salad was refreshing. I especially liked the mushroom on toast. This dish was so creamy and the wild mushroom tasted so fresh. This was my favorite appetizer here. Strongly recommend this dish. For mains, we ordered the short rib, the ravioli, the salmon with risotto and the chicken. I didn't try the short rib. For other dishes, my favourite was the salmon. It was cooked just alright and I really liked the risotto even though I generally don't eat risotto. The chicken was seasoned well, but the spinach along with it was a bit bitter to my taste. I didn't like the ravioli. It was a bit dry, but the shrimp in the dish tasted flavourful and fresh. There wasn't too much service during our meal, but the food quality and portion was very decent. We were very satisfied with our dinner experience here. read more

We went there to celebrate a birthday in the family. The place did not disappoint and the food was great and was on par with this place's high ratings. What I was less thrilled about was the ambiance and overall experience. This place is housed within an old large house and hence has multiple small eating halls, which in itself is not a bad thing. However the management crammed the place with tables, so a few more people around your elbows than you would like in a fancy and high priced place like this. Be ready to shell out more than $100 a person for a 3 course meal with some alcohol. read more

Cucci is always my number one restaurant in Oakville. Although price is not as expensive as the ones in downtown, the price and quality is on par with those high end fine dining. We ordered mussel and grilled octopus for appetizer. The mussel is on the smaller size, but the white wine broth is really good. For the main courses, we ordered special of the night, which is grass-fed ribeye 12oz, and the duck breast. The ribeye is probably the best I have ever had. Since I don't like mash potato, the restaurant substitute mushroom risotto for no extra charge. I am very surprise when I look at the bill! However, the duck breast is a bit disappointed. Even though order cook in medium, the meat is a bit tough and dry, not tender at all. We ended with the apple glazed cheesecake, which is not from the menu. Special dessert of the night. Everything I have ever had here has been 5 stars! My grandma lives in the area and I've come around 5 times with here over the years and every time we are so pleased with what we ordered. My favourites are the mushrooms on toast and the linguini. All of their dishes I have had are full of flavour and well done. Definitely worth the price! read more

On my very recent visit to Toronto the weather was atrocious. It snowed or sleeted everyday. But foodies like me are not going to be deterred by these minor impediments. I visited three different restaurants and I will start with sharing my experience with you at Cucci. This is a gem of a place. The food is exquisite and the service was impeccable. The barrata, shrimp and fresh oysters were our choices for for starters and, Mon Dieu, they were magnifique. My entree was the Branzino. A very unique preparation but, nonetheless, exquisite. This baby is going on my culinary Rolodex. The service was extraordinary especially by John Kudos. A very memorable experience. read more

If you rate a fabulous dining experience as one that includes personalized, professional service with a lot of humility, a warm and intimate interior without being dungeon-like, and food that will tickle your palette, then you will absolutely love Cucci. Is it expensive? Yes. But if you believe that you "get what you pay for" then it is not expensive at all. To begin with, you are greeted at the door by a friendly and humble gentleman with a warm Latin smile and not by a sexy young blonde who judges you by who you are and what you're wearing. We truly felt welcome by the host. We were greeted at our table by a friendly and professional waiter with a Germanic accent who was not over-powering and we were served drinks and food by several friendly wait staff. And all of this in what is supposed to be an Italian restaurant. If you are there for an intimate dinner, ask for the bench seating along the wall which is perfect for sitting side-by-side with your mate, looking out into the restaurant. If you are a larger group, there are seating options in two rooms and if you're there on your own or also with a friend, the bar is approachable and also comfortable. They had just introduced a new "Fall-inspired" menu which featured a lot of "hearty" dishes incorporating seasonal ingredients, artfully integrated into the food. The Mushrooms on Toast appetizer lived up to its signature status with a brilliant arrangement of wild mushrooms on a piece of toasted bread with some parmigiana shavings and a delicate sauce. We literally wanted to lick the plate. We shared the appetizer and without asking, they split the portion onto to plates and where other restaurants would have frowned upon doing this, it was no problem at all at Cucci. The Caesar salad was also wonderful. For the mains we had the Gnocchi and the Branzino and both dishes were wonderful with flavours complimenting the main items in the dishes. The Gnocchi were some of the best I have tasted with a slightly crisp exterior and a wonderful flavor. For dessert we had the Tiramisu and immediately labelled it as one of the best Tiramisu preparations we ever had. And to make things even better, there were two performers, a guitarist and singer that were the perfect compliment to a perfect evening. All in all, if you understand that food this good, in an environment this pleasing with staff this professional and humble is not cheap, you will love Cucci. read more

Happy New Year to us! We booked a private table in the back of the restaurant way in advance and told management that we had young kids with us. The reservation was for 5:30 so we weren't keeping the kids up by any means. 45 minutes into the dinner, we were asked to leave because we were disturbing some of he patrons!! I've gone out to dinner with kids on New Year's Eve in downtown Toronto for the past 4 years and not once have we been asked to leave a restaurant. We were surprised it was quit full on a weeknight. The server has great knowledge on wine and made a comment on the bottle we pick should match well with our order. We had a soup and a dozen oyster as appitizer...the soup was okay and the osyster was fresh.. The interesting part is the sauce. Other than the tradition seafood sauce, houseraddiah and lemon, they also have 3 other house sauce. My favorite is the red onion vinegar. For main course, We ordered duck breast and gnocchi. Both were amazing!!!!! The sauce on the gnocchi is to die for !!! It was rich and buttery, It was prefect with the truffles pieces on it. duck beast cooked right on medium rare with sautue rapaine.... With the small table We have, they are so thoughtful to put our wine aside and full up for us when needed. Being from the Toronto area I was not to familiar with restaurants in the west end My mother selected Cucci as she is from the area and spoke very highly of it For starters we had the grilled calamari with a tomato chorizo mix and it was fabulous, calamari grilled to perfection and the chorizo added a nice punch For our mains my mother had the eggplant parm and I had the spaghetti/linguine vongole (mini clams) The pasta was cooked al dente and there was an abundance of clams. The presentation was nice and I really enjoyed it The eggplant parm was just as tasty, melted on your mouth and was nicely put together The waite staff was very courteous and very knowledgable about the wine selection Over all I would have given it a 5 but the pasta was a pinch of salt away from being perfectly seasoned and for the price I expect it to be perfect I would highly recommend cucci to anyone read more

We ate here for the first time and I had the shrimp appetizer and the shrimp tasted fishy and it didn't taste good at all. I'm afraid that the gnocchi was simply not great either. My highlight was the glass of wine and in fact not a single person asked us if we enjoyed the meal until the very end. I'm sorry, but you have better options for real Italian food on lakeshore Dr with better pricing. It was our first time dining at this place. It has a welcoming and cozy feel with extremely professional and polite staff. We booked a reservation on a Saturday for early dinner (5 pm) and it was very quiet at that time. We were greeted by the coat checker and escorted to our table. The girls serving water and drinks were great and provided excellent service. Our server, Ernst (older gentleman with a slight French accent) was amazing throughout. He was very polite, attentive and we received the great service. The wine list is impressive and they have some fairly decent wines by the glass. We tried all courses and were not disappointed. The salads were very fresh and tasted amazing. The main courses were all outstanding (pasta, fish and chicken). Dessert was quite good also. The restaurant is fine dining but does not feel stuffy. We had a relaxing and enjoyable visit. It is quite pricey absolutely worth it. The only reason I have taken off 1 star is because momentarily, another server came in to take our orders for the main course and behaved rather snobbish. Not sure what was up with him but clearly he carried a spicy pickle up his buttocks. I wish I had taken his name down but if you see an unsmiling, somewhat short and stocky waiter walking around swiftly everywhere, that's your guy. He serves the section close to where the piano is kept. We had arrived earlier so he wasn't there at the time and therefore Ernst ended up serving us for the most part. Definitely dodged a bullet there! Will be back there for sure and ask for Ernst specifically or any other waiter but the guy mentioned above. read more

I love a packed restaurant - you know it's going to be good right from the get go and Cucci delivered in spades. We started at the bar with cocktails as our table was turning over, the martinis were excellent and bang on to our particular (and persnickity) order. We sat beside the piano and player and that too was appealing and not at all corny. My buddies and I started with a dozen oysters as we finished off our marts and ordered a 2008 Zinfandel (Tin Roof) in time to open nicely for our mains. We then ordered two salads to be split into thirds; the roasted beet and goat cheese and the caesar with house pancetta, confit garlic & capers. Both were excellent and portioned and presented perfectly. Oddly enough we were all attracted to the same main course the Wild Boar Ragout - Rough house cut pasta with tomato & olives. Again, it was portioned perfectly (meaning we all got the exact same portion) and it was without doubt one of the best pastas I have had in a while (I don't eat pasta that often but we were all scheduled for a cycling event the next day so we thought carbs). This pasta was meaty and the starch and protein were perfectly balanced. I would order it again and it would be the perfect choice with a glass of red at the bar after a work out, on the way home or if you're heading home late from work and don't feel like cooking (I wonder if they do take out?) Service was outstanding, we ordered another bottle of wine and took the balance of a bottle home corked and bagged. It was a $400 + night and I felt we got all that value and more. read more

The venue was very clean and the room looked very nice. Thank you. Service was attentive, guests seemed pleased. To provide some so feedback on dinner, there are a couple of items I would like to mention: * The veal was very tough. I had the veal as well as did several other guests from my party and the feedback was that the veal was very tough and the pieces we inedible. Taste seemed fine, but the pieces could not even be cut with the knives provided, let alone chewed. I am not sure if they were end-pieces or not, but there was membrane that was not broken-down which deemed the veal scaloppini not chewable. * The Organic Greens Salad was inconsistent. Comparing the presentation of the salad dishes, there were several portions that were exploding with a generous mixture of chick peas and greens, while the plates right next to them had only greens and lacking any chick peas. We found that there was no consistency between the salad servings and the portions varied from guest-to-guest. The soup was impressive, tagliatelle and salmon dishes had a very nice presentation and feedback was great on these plates, and panna cotta was simple yet good. Just the major item was how inedible the veal was. Not sure if it was a bad batch or cut, but it was not good. I find it hard to imagine I will be back to this restaurant. read more

This was a really disappointing experience. We were a party of 6 and none of us wiLl be bacK. The food was bland and overpriced for what you got. It was so loud that the server had a hard time hearIng our order. We also did not get a quality check. The salad was very dry and the pasta was not very warm at all. The only thing I can say positive was that the fIsh was cooked to perfection but the rest of the dish reminded me of food I would get at a hospital. When I asked to speak with a manager the servers said he busy at the bar!! My husband asked again to speak to the manager and was again told he was to busy. This was from the coat check person. Don't waste your money or time going to this establishment. We eat out every week at least once or twice and have been to some of the best restaurants. This is not one of them. read more

Came here to Cucci for my birthday dinner. Wanted to try out a new place. Definitely a high end restaurant, typical average portion size (if you are a big eater and want bang for your buck then this is not the place for you). Meal portion was suitable for us, I was stuffed and couldn't eat my dessert. Food quality is excellent. (pictures included) We had the mushroom on toast to share (appetizer), for main we had the turkey something special, organic salmon and for dessert a slice of chocolate cake. Our server was on point, friendly and helpful with suggestions and recommendations. Atmosphere was slightly darker then I had anticipated, dim setting with tea candles on the table, family friendly kind of place, dress code is both dressy or casual, washrooms are clean, which is expected for this kind of place. Why isn't there more buzz about this restaurant? I had never even heard of it before, but had a fantastic meal there last night. My burrata and bean salad was a winner of an appetizer, full of fresh flavour from the salsa verde. I also really enjoyed my potato wrapped halibut served over quinoa with pea puree. And of course being an Italian restaurant, they do a phenomenal pasta. Ambiance was dark and romantic, but a bit too noisy to be fully enjoyable. read more

Ive been here quite a few times, and food and service have been consistent and far above most comparable oakville restaurants without the pretentiousness. Knowledgeable staff, solid wine list and bar, quality food prepared with care, under the watchful eye of restraunteur Doug Grecco (sp?). Ive sampled a good chunk of the menu and my fav's are the mushrooms on toast, oysters, sweet breads, rack of lamb, halibut, gnocchi, and braised lamb.... hard to pick. Also one of the few places that serve the Steigel Radler. Weekends with live music are fun to sit at the bar or patio and have a drink and appy when things are busy. read more

APPALLING. We visited in November 2020. Cucci is located in Bronte Village, and as we are from Old Oakville we normally attend local restaurants but as it was our anniversary and our first visit to Cucci was a good one - good food, formal presentation - we thought we would try it again. As of our first arrival the indicators were worrying. (1) In contrast to our first visit, our server (who it turned out was the manager), was under-dressed: wrinkled white shirt, no belt. He also kept pulling his mask down to take our order, which somewhat defeated the purpose of having the mask. (2) The music was very loud and 'clubby' - Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift - and two of the young waitresses were behind the bar loudly singing along, giving each other High Fives and "woo-ing" loudly: fine for Jack Astor's when closing, but not so impressive for a restaurant purporting to be fine dining. After several requests, they finally turned down the music. (3) The owner broke the cardinal rule of fine dining restaurants and sat down with a group of guests whom he knew. He then began loudly boasting how he had made $800K profit through CERB benefits. This was more than gauche given how many local businesses have failed during COVID. All of this was poor and disappointing, but we have not got to the climax yet. We had been commenting on how the server was weirdly overpouring each glass of wine. We soon found out why. At about 10:15 pm a waiter runs up to us, takes our two full glasses of red wine FROM OUR HANDS (!), and runs off to the kitchen, leaving us with our mouths open wondering what had just happened. After 5 minutes our server approaches and explains that the city inspector had arrived and apparently they were not supposed to be serving alcohol after 10 pm... soooo, that meant that they had to "hide" the wine?! Multiple problems with this. First, if that is the rule, don't serve us a bottle of red wine with 10 pm approaching. Second, at 10 pm, tell us the issue, and cork the bottle for us to take home. Instead, we never saw those full - and expensive - glasses again. However, we did see the FULL CHARGE for our bottle on the bill! Outrageous. The manager simply said they "would get us next time". Really? You actually think we will ever come back? The kicker? After our wine was kidnapped, we decided to wrap up our dinner and box our steak and pasta to take home. imagine our surprise when we get home and - voila - no pasta. So in short, Cucci STOLE both half our bottle of premium red wine, and one of our main courses, and then charged us full price at $430 - needless to say, with no tip. We have spoken with numerous of our foodie friends and warned them off this restaurant - and now we are warning off your readers. If you want good fine dining, go to Hexagon or Olivers in Old Oakville - never, ever go to Cuccis. read more

Dinner on a Saturday night to celebrate a 30th wedding anniversary. Beautiful ambience (perhaps a bit on the dark side). New York style ? The "bubble" served with a raspberry, perfectly chilled. A good start. We were three and our order included mussels, graved lax, risotto, duck breast...all prepared to perfection. Delicious ! The Sancerre matched very well with the food. The deserts from a small but tempting desert menu were all exquisite. Service was impeccable all throughout. A wonderful dining experience at this occasion very important to the family. Went for a family dinner and everyone was extremely disappointed with the food. This place is not allergy friendly.. BEWARE!! I would rate the service as a 1 star TONIGHT. I had an allergic reaction and I let our server know and she was not concerned at all unfortunately.. A manager came out shortly after and said "I CAN assure you there was no dairy in your pasta" which was extremely rude since I was covered in hives and could not feel my lips or tongue at the time.. it was very embarrassing since I did not ask to speak to a manager and did not want to make a scene.. as we were about to leave another server walked up to our table and told us that our white wine had dairy in it?! Which was not true at all.. I am disappointed that I made a reservation there with my family and that they basically let the entire restaurant know about the issue.. very embarrassed since mistakes happen especially with allergies. A great surprise to get invited for my birthday dinner at Gucci's. The place looks nice although a bit crowded setting. I could do without the large screen TV on one of the walls and opted to sit withy back to it, knowing too well that I would be distracted all the time. We ordered a few martini's to kick off the event while studying the menu and wine list. The wine list sure is interesting and complete with all the big names of the popular regions. We selected a great Italian red (Brunella La Garda 2006) to compliment our dinner of succulent rack of lamb and a tenderloin special that melted in your mouth. As appetizer we had Mushrooms on Toast and Mussels with chickpeas in a cream sauce. The mushrooms were fantastic, unfortunately the mussels were very basic and although the chickpeas added a nice touch I would not order it again. The staff was super friendly and the almost blackout, thanks to observing earth hour, added an ambience level at candlelight I've never experienced before. The live music was very pleasant and next time we will arrive a bit earlier to enjoy it a bit more. Gucci, is a great place for a great dinner, good food, atmosphere with a group or as in our case just a couple celebrating a birthday, which the staff helped us celebrate in a kind and not your typical over the top way. This restaurant looks nice however the food was extremely disappointing. I ordered the truffle gnocchi and barely had 4 bites it was just not good at all. The plate also did not look clean. The waiter didn't even ask how my meal was - even tho it was barely touched. I also ordered espresso and asked for cream. The cream never came. The waiter was quite pretentious as well. I was here for my FIL's 70th birthday, and we were a group of 14. Service was top notch and we all felt very well taken care of. I had the Burrata appetizer and it was delicious - creamy burrata cheese, crispy prosciutto, grapes... very delicate and delicious. My boyfriend had the grilled calamari and he said it was the best-grilled calamari he's had in a long time. For my main, I went with the homemade gnocchi and they were so tender and light! Gnocchi can be such a heavy meal, but this was perfect! The black truffle cream sauce was divine! Will definitely return for a special evening out. read more
