Jody makes it her business to closely watch any news horse on their ranch, paying extra attention to any medical needs and feed. She's literally an expert on every horse at her ranch and she treats them all as kindly as she would her own. We've met many families who also board out here and they're all delightful as well. Upon entering the ranch you feel transformed to a place where everyone is happy being with their horse..Beautiful turn-outs including one under the trees with two picnic tables so it is enjoyable to hang out and relax while your horse wanders around in the shady coolness. People are friendly and I have not seen any drama. Leo the ranch hand really cares about the horses and is hard working as well as Karisa the Manager who is willing to go the extra mile for your horse. She will text or call you when she notices something about your horse. She did for me when my horse's eyed was swollen enabling me to quickly take care of it so that her eye did not get worse. Karisa offers hay upgrades and turn outs for your horse for reasonable add on rates. Karisa and Leo are both friendly and I get to practice my Spanish when communicating with Leo which is a bonus for me! So happy I moved my horse to this ranch!!!

My son attended a 3 day camp in July and we recently took their 1 hour trail ride in Nov…read more We choose these particular activities as it was conducted outdoors with mask and social distancing requirements. There is a sink with soap to wash hands and a porta potty on location. A short walk away is the public restroom for the Rancho Potrero trailhead that is fairly new. For camp there was temperature screening upon arrival. For the trail rides there was a limit of 5 (family members or family pods), age 7 and up, and not more than 200 lbs. My 9 year old son enjoyed the camp more than the trail ride as it taught him basics and provided more opportunities to interact with the horses. He was the only boy at camp but he really likes animals. They went out on short walking rides only, which was plenty for my son. The trail ride was a full hour and we saw coyotes, hawks, and kites. Adults really enjoyed it, but it was a little long for the 7 year old. The other slightly unexpected occurrence was of the horses going through their natural bodily motions during the ride: fart, pee and poop. We were untouched, it just elicited alot of reaction from the kids. Since this is an outdoor activity, dressing for the weather is the main difference that will make your experience enjoyable. In July, we used thinner long pants with vented athletic wear shirts. For Nov, we wore jeans with double layered long sleeved shirts. They do not cancel except for extreme weather. Their website has more information about camps, lessons and rides. We had positive interaction and are grateful to have this facility close to us, and at a reasonable price. Definitely recommend and we would do it again.

I guess I must have been mistaken or labeled as a trespasser or must have been my skin color or the way I was dressed. My guess is I must have caught them in a bad mood or maybe because the weather outside was 86 degrees? I don't know?. The in and outs are large, nice and light. A cool sea breeze floats in the afternoon cooling down the air, making this a great location for an afternoon lesson. Michelle is a very talented rider, an excellent trainer and a very confident horsewoman. Samba I first meet Michelle in our golden years and she was very happy to train us, we were still a working dressage pony. She helped through some old age issues to make Samba a circus pony , the 2 of us a long lining duo, leg yields, turn on the haunches, jumping little cross rails with even a lead change, little cross country logs and ditches. With Michelle's guidance I was able to ride Samba again at the age of 31!. Our last discipline was clicker training. Michelle and Sasha supported and cared for us until the bitter sweet end. Sasha Cohen is a great asset to the barn, she is a very hard working, reliable student. Under Michelle's guidance she has become a very strong, confident rider and Norman her horse a rock star. I highly recommend Michelle's barn and training programs that she has to offer.
