Just finished an amazing Labor Day Weekend stay at the Rolling Thunder Ranch. We had a fantastic time at the ranch and were shocked at how much the property felt like a tropical resort. The perfect weather made it very easy to enjoy the 2 fire pits, the ample outdoor cooking, dining, and general hang out spots. Sleeping was a little tight for the 15 people we had, but with the great weather we were able to put inflatable mattresses pool side and make use of the hammocks. We will be back!

We were also celebrating our first grandchild as well as our younger son's engagement, and we couldn't have found a better spot for quality time and making memories. The outdoor spaces are extraordinary, gorgeous nature, minutes from town and shopping with resort amenities - had an all-day bocce tournament, epic morning workouts in the giant yoga room, ping pong + frisbee games, long soaks in the hot tub, and hikes to the nearby picturesque river trail. Also outdoor lunches with vistas of the mountains and lush tropical foliage. The beds in the charming ranch home are super comfy and we had some excellent game nights and dinners at home, plus great meals out (Roblars, Rory's Place, The Hip Vegan, The Dutchess). Our granddaughter slept well with her parents in the guest house, and our granddog was happy to run around in a safe fenced area. Communication with Lisa was perfect. Can't wait to return...A+++

Quail Run Ranch is a unique and one-of-a-kind ostrich farm that is basically out in the middle of…read morenowhere. You might not realize how huge and dangerous some of these birds really are, but they average about 9 feet to 12 feet tall and from 250 to 350 pounds. And, they can be quite deadly. During the mating season, the males will instantly try to attack you if you get close. They've got about 6 to 10 different ostriches in separate fenced off areas. If you pay a few dollars for a tour, they will walk you down and show you the different ostriches they have, as well as provide some pretty interesting ostrich facts. Their feet are crazy as they are the only two toed bird on earth. Looking at them it is easy to see how they are related to dinosaurs because it looks just like a dinosaur foot. You can also buy ostrich eggs if they have them available, which are equal to about 24 to 36 eggs. The flavor and consistency is actually pretty good as well and very similar to chicken eggs. They also sell honey and a bunch of other things. Also, in certain times of year, you can go and see the baby ostrich chicks that they raise. If you're feeling adventurous, this is definitely worth a trip, especially if you have kids. This has become a fun stop we started making on our annual visit to the California Poppy Preserve in Antelope Valley. I would call ahead and see what's going on with tours and everything else. The ride was great. Again, Dillon was super helpful on the ride. My son rode Dutch and I rode Mira. Amazing horses. My son cannot stop talking about Dutch. I cannot recommend this company enough.

Customer service was still great, but I noticed a few changes that took away from the experience for us personally. I do like that the tastings are no longer in the plastic tubes, although the tubes did feel like they held a little more wine. What we didn't enjoy was that when multiple people ordered the same tastings, they were placed into the same shared glass/container. In our party of four, three of us had the same six tastings and had to share. I appreciated the bow on the glass showing the pours, but I preferred the previous setup where everyone had their own individual tastings. It may seem small, and thankfully our group was fine sharing, but it made the experience feel less personal and honestly made us less interested in doing tastings again on future visits. Some people also may not feel comfortable sharing containers or touching the same glass. Nothing terrible at all, just some feedback from longtime visitors who loved how it used to be. On this visit we actually ended up ordering a bottle afterward instead, and moving forward we'll probably just continue doing that rather than the tastings.

Greg also does Pony Club, although I never participated in this I've seen all the Pony Club students and they seem to have a wonderful system set up!
