Very unprofessional team working at the Napa location they call to inform About work and setup an appointment just for them to not know or remember that there was an appointment. The female staff working there honestly makes it the worst. Constant attitude from the female employees at Alkar Napa for asking the most basic questions or comments like " I had an appointment at 9:30 am and it's 10:15 am" just to get a resounding response of "wait in the room and someone will be there with you shortly" . They are also very non understanding with sickness and WILL DROP YOU AS A CANDIDATE FOR CALLING IN SICK. With so MANY BETTER agencies in the surrounding area and using many of such agencies throughout the years I can say without a doubt that Alkar is the ABSOLUTE WORST place to look for work let alone if they even have any work to begin with and dealing with the staff's attitude. Reached out to Alkar looking for an opportunity in my field of study. They set me up with a gentleman named Trevor. Trevor was very kind and asked me about my career aspirations and what I was looking for in a job. After our initial meeting, I felt confident I would get a jobs sooner or later. I was told to check in every Monday to see about new opportunities. I called the next 7 Monday. Almost every single one Trevor was on "vacation" or "out of the office". I continued to leave voicemails to have him call me back.... those calls never came. Alkar made me feel like I was chasing them around to push them to assist me. Was super disappointed with their services. I would recommend looking for jobs elsewhere. read more

Bottling Line Staffing, four day run: First day, the entire crew shows up an hour late complaining about the 45 minute drive they just had to make. So...even if my winery was next door to their home, they still would have been 15 minutes late. Day two, two of the staffers decide to not show up. Day three, full staff again, only 20 minutes late...but two of the temps return to the job after morning break stoned and unable to perform the job. Day four...I hired neighboring vineyard crews vowing to never touch Alkar again. read more

After receiving a email that they would love for me to come by and complete a full application, I responded and told them I would be there tomorrow at 11am. Two employees of Alkar were copied on this email. I arrived and they did not seem to be expecting me. Still completed the application. Made an appointment for an interview for the same time the next day. Arrived on time the next day and the interviewer had to leave for an emergency would be back in 10 minutes. Waited 30 minutes. No show, no call. Alkar does not follow their own policies. I was just looking to help some of the wineries. I will keep driving for Uber. If I was look for work, do not come here. I'm saddened to see the previous comment because I had a great experience here. I was in the wine industry (direct to consumer sales & wines clubs) and had sort of lost my way. Wanted a different position but was having trouble getting hired or interviewed without proper direct skills. Ended up at Alkar figuring I would do temp work until I could get a break into something I really wanted. Filled out their form on line on a Monday, had an interview Wednesday and they called me that Friday to start my first postion the following Monday. I spent 3 weeks there when I received a call from Minette letting me know she had a position that better suited what I was looking for. I moved a few months ago, and currently have almost completed my 'temp to hire' contract and will be full time with the new company. I can understand that they may not have a position for everyone and I was fortunate but their service was great! They were organized, through and efficient. Super disappointed in Alkar. Shoved me in a room and required me to fill out paperwork before allowing me to have a conversation. I finally got to speak with someone but never heard from them again after the appointment. Treated me like another file in the cabinet. They make it known that they are a certified woman owned business but don't seem to represent women well. read more

This is the DUMBEST temp agency. Brenda, Wendy, and Kari are the worst employees. They definitely do not act their age, & they share your information with people who ARE NOT AUTHORIZED. Kari, never calls back when you try to get ahold of her for work, ANY ISSUES, etc. Brenda, is rude and short. And Wendy, she is rude and shared my information with other people who shouldn't know anything. Alkar is definitely not worth the hassle/struggle. read more

Alkar in Napa have always been extremely helpful! The staff is very friendly and welcoming! Carina and Alejandra are awesome! There's been many times I need side jobs to get some extra cash in my pocket and they are always reaching out to make sure I am aware of jobs that I might need. My current employer hired me thanks to Alkar and I'm here at this job a year and counting. My experience with Alkar.. Not so great. I have been applying to jobs and temp agencies recently and I heard good reviews about Alkar. So I came in January 6th of this year and the lady at the front desk was nice and polite, she handed me a pre-application which I filled out and returned right back. After that, she told me to send a resume to some guy name Trevor and that he would give me a call to set up an interview. So the next day I emailed my resume and waited for a week. Then another week was passing by and I finally called them on the 20th to follow up on my resume, I was then transferred to Trevor's phone line and it went to voicemail, so I left a message of my name, the reason why I was calling, and my phone number so that he can give me a call back.Well, never received a call back from him or anyone to assure me what was going on with my resume or my pre application.. read more

I have been looking for some part time work so I stopped into Alkar's office in Napa to see if thier service could find something for me. I filled out the pre application and was told I would have an answer shortly. The next day I recieved a letter telling me they had nothing to offer me. A day later I see a job listing and look into it and find they posted it. I called Alkar back and they denied the job was even open and the woman on the phone just blew me off. I called Alkar over a week before NYE to hire help for our NYE event, as it was going to be very busy. I received a call back stating someone was booked and would arrive at 6pm sharp. 6pm came and went!!! NO CALL or follow up until I called Alkar the floowing Monday to inform them that their employee never showed. It's not what you know but who you know. This agency is a joke they are unprofessional and most jobs go to there friends and family.
