(I almost expected to bump into Rod Serling prowling the stacks during my most recent visit.) Staff persons on duty during both my visits over the past two years were very friendly and helpful.

Prices are a little on the higher side but still, nice little shop. Was clean and maintained. The guy behind the desk was the sports guy, so he didn't know much about magic and that's okay but he was super helpful! They have the rift bound League of Legends trading card game decks, And we've been unable to find them anywhere so come get them! They have a spacious back room for playing games and it appears to have a nice spot to play video games.

It's jam packed with all sorts of neat, unique items that you don't find at the other big box stores. Nearly all of the inventory has educational value with a heavy concentration on free form play. My niece is exceptionally gifted and we struggle to find gifts for her that actually stimulate her. She's blessed with a mind that visualizes solutions quickly. I picked up several brain teasers I've never seen elsewhere, some card games that seemed as if they may challenge her and a hanging seat for my son that I've looked for elsewhere without success. The woman at the counter was incredibly knowledgeable about her products and took the time to go get a former demo item so I could be certain I was purchasing something I'd enjoy. I live several hours away from this store, but plan to make another trip down soon for birthday and holiday gifts. I wish she was closer to my house, but then again I'd spend a fortune at her store. This little trip cost me $250, but I have no guilt because they seem to be unique, well made toys with a heavy emphasis on educational components! I'll be back... Handmade in America of extra thick vegetable dyed hides these duty belts was exactly what I was searching for. The online store was slick but sadly limited in it's offerings although featuring big,iconic name brands like Barbour,Carolina boots,Schott,Woolrich and Filson. I did order a sturdy work belt and it arrive a bit late but Hank's made good on it's promise to refund me my shipping. Hank's is an good source for work and outdoor apparel along the lines of LL Bean and Duluth Trading company but a bit higher end. I'll shop them again perhaps in another 15 years when this belt finally wears out.....

When I got there I was instantly greeted by a man who I'll assume was the owner. He was incredibly nice and very helpful. He asked me if I was looking for anything specific or just browsing. I appreciate that he knows he has the kind of shop where people may just come in out of curiosity. Since I was looking for some specific cards I asked for his help. He pointed me to the appropriate boxes and told me to take all the time I needed (at the conveniently provided table and chairs). He also thoroughly explained the way they price their cards and while I don't intend to need to by cards very often I appreciated that he took the time to let me know. I can't really speak to the quality of the merchandise itself in the shop. There were boxes and boxes of cards that were all in sleeves, well organized, and clearly labelled. They have an assortment of non-card memorabilia as well like pennants and mini helmets. In the end I found the two cards I needed and was very happy. I only paid one dollar (book value of $1 each) and was very satisfied. While I was in there I got some more ideas of other people who might appreciate a card of a favorite player so I may head back to a sports card store someday. If that day happens while I'm in Binghamton, then Lj's will certainly be where I go.

My husband and I went to LJ's sports cards this afternoon to buy card storage supplies to start up his e-bay business. When we walked in the owner and two other customers were sitting in the back chatting, which is fine, but no acknowledgement from the owner. My husband and I grabbed our supplies and sat at the counter for a solid 5 minutes, while the owner walked by us, fully seeing the merchandise we were going purchase and continued to talk to his friends about how he wanted to financially "screw" (his words) with his ex wife. Well apparently he is doing that to himself because we left the store without a purchase. Too bad considering we would have been long time customers, instead we went to Centerfield Comics and Books in Endicott. The owner was friendly and helpful and even gave us a discount on our supplies. There are many other card shops in this town, don't waste your time with this one!
