My brother-in-law and nephew came along, but this was strictly my deal -- they were just along for the ride. I was really happy with how smoothly everything went. The staff treated me well, and I walked out with a nice mix of store credit and cash in my pocket. I didn't make a big fuss or smile too much because I didn't want my family thinking I was getting any kind of special treatment. They actually thought I was crazy for making the trade at all, but that's okay -- it was my stuff, and I'm the one who decides. I wasn't trying to get rich or score a huge payday; I'd just gotten bored with it all and wanted it gone. Sound Go Round handled everything fairly and professionally. I could have spend hours going through all the great old vinyl that's in this small store. Prices of the albums were fair and the day I was there I received a 25% discount on the purchase of four or more used albums. My favorite find was an old Jeff Beck, Rod Stewart album BeckOla. Other customers in the store were equally excited as I was with all the great albums. And, hey Rob, I've got the four artists we discussed on the Romantic Warrior album. Selection in the overall store is what I would call average, with a decent selection of various games. Console selection seemed limited. DVD/Blu-ray stock was decent and cheap, but perhaps a bit lacking. Where I think Game Station stands out is the selection of in box games, which can be difficult to find but were not cheap. They also had a reasonable selection of games for rarer systems like the Sega CD. Overall, if you are a local, Game Station is probably not a bad store to stop in and check out. I'm not sure I'd travel out of my way to check out the selection.

I can only imagine the selection at the beginning of the sale and how much stock was probably available. Even so, the selection today was remarkable. You certainly get a flavor for what all the college professors are requiring lit majors to buy by the mass quantities of certain titles. Anyhow, this sale has all kinds of books that are organized by topic and then by author. Really well run and the staff is friendly and efficient. Cash, check or card accepted. Today they marked down the prices; the most expensive book was 50 cents. The deals are wild! Masks and social distancing are enforced. There was a line outside when I arrived (5:15pm) and I waited for about 20-25 minutes to get in. It seemed to be a slower time and I'm not sure what the wait would be if it was a peak hour. If you pay $100 to become a "friend" you can have early accsss. It was well worth my time and I'm happy to support this organization!

Browsing their inventory - it's extensive and generally well organized - is kind of entering a time warp. You won't find that much fiction published in, say, the past 20 or more years. But going back further is where they have their depth. Want, for example, to fill out your Erskine Caldwell first edition collection? They've got you covered. It's actually a little uncanny. (I almost expected to bump into Rod Serling prowling the stacks during my most recent visit.) Staff persons on duty during both my visits over the past two years were very friendly and helpful.

I purchased several books on that visit, and eagerly looked forward to visiting today- planned the whole day around it. Got to the bookstore but quickly felt a call of nature. The sole staff member, clearly irritated, informed me there was no public bathroom, but that I could find them across the street at the Owego info center. I went into the info center only to be informed that their bathrooms are private, too, and that Riverow has been told "repeatedly" to stop sending people there. The desk attendant was kind & let me use the restroom. I returned to the bookstore deeply mortified. I couldn't bring myself to stay and didn't purchase anything. I left feeling humiliated and disappointed, especially since I live far from Owego and this was a special occasion.
