The tour included two stops at beautiful Egmont Key. First, we had the opportunity to snorkel and swim in the crystal-clear, warm Gulf waters. The snorkeling was fantastic, and it's easy to see why this area is known for its abundant marine life. Our second stop gave us time to explore the island's pristine beaches, nature trails, and fascinating history. Egmont Key is a true gem of the Tampa Bay area, with stunning scenery and plenty to discover. Throughout the trip, Captain John and Jennifer shared interesting facts about the island, local wildlife, and the surrounding waters. They went above and beyond to make sure we had memorable wildlife encounters. On the ride back, they helped us spot several dolphins, and we were incredibly lucky to see three manatees! Captain John carefully maneuvered the boat to a respectful and safe distance, allowing us to enjoy the rare experience of observing these gentle animals in their natural habitat. He was very good at spotting the gators and other critters along the river. He had a nice commentary and useful information about the history of the area. The airboat was very loud so it was quite difficult to hear everything he said. Our guide even gae us a nice run on the river with a bit of a splash/spray as he made the turn! Definitely saw lots of gators this trip. After the trip, you are invited to visit the main shop which was also the check in area for an opportunity to hold a real life baby gator! The highlight, of course, was the dolphins. They showed up right on cue and put on an amazing show, swimming alongside the boat and giving everyone plenty of opportunities for photos and memories. The dolphin sightings happened in the middle and again toward the end of the trip, for a total of about 10-20 minutes. That was definitely the highlight of the experience--our kids really loved seeing the dolphins. However, between and after the sightings, there was a lot of walking on the beach under the hot sun. The walking felt long and tiring, especially for the kids, and there was no shade. During the tour, an elderly woman also started feeling unwell due to the heat, and an ambulance was called to assist her. Overall, while seeing the dolphins was a wonderful experience, I would recommend preparing for a long amount of walking and strong sun exposure, especially for families with young children or elderly guests.

We met our tour guide Craig, near the Vinoy to start the tour to make our way further down Beach Dr. Craig has a great personality, is super friendly and has an awesome singing voice. He starts the tour with a few songs and performs more during the tour. I am not a huge fan of listening to these types of solos but he was good and it was entertaining enough. People who enjoy that type of thing would love it. I don't want to spoil the spots, but as you can see from my pictures, you get a lot of food on the tour. You get a drink at the first stop and can purchase drinks at the 2 other restaurants. The tour was approximately 2 hours, I am used to longer food tours with more history. (We received a discount for bringing our own bikes). I might mention that one of our group was extremely timid and very slow to ride her e-trike. Doug was patient and insisted that it was "our" tour as we liked it. No pressure for her. St Pete has cordoned biking lanes, plus the Pinellas trail, so no actual traffic interaction.
