We enjoyed our Segway tour. It's a great way to see Clearwater. It is located behind the mini golf and there is parking there.

This was truly a memorable experience. We got caught on the big bridge when a horizontal monsoon blew in. It stung our eyes, we could not see or hear for a while, complete chaos. One dude's machine died at the bottom approach to the bridge. We were not sticking around for that to get sorted out as it seemed like our eyes could get damaged; my left eye still stings today, two days later. So we soldiered on to get back to base. My scooter died too. Not understanding that it had expired, I stood it back up and leaned forward as one does when they are working properly, and went straight down on the pavement, full force, striking elbow and knee. Thankfully I did not face plant, although I still have painful scrapes from that two days later as well. I did have to drag the heavy thing the rest of the way back, making a spectacle out of myself to those huddled under awnings trying to shelter from the storm. These " what to do or not do if caught in a storm" were not discussed in the training, despite the fact we were heading towards an ominous platinum gray cloud Bank. IF I had been warned I would have known to shield my eyes from the sleet, needle rain, whatever it was, and not let it Contact my eye at all. I also would not have smashed down on the pavement. Nothing to do with the storm, I also had concerns about how close together the guide kept insisting we bed, " two to three feet", that is a quote. That is nuts, just like cars on the highway are supposed to be one car length apart for every ten miles an hour of speed. A couple of feet does not allow enough reaction time, and bear in mind he is the pace car, and he is flying, and these things do not have brakes,, a panic stop is abruptly leaning back. I was concerned he was setting us up for a pile up. The route itself is a 4.5 stars, it isn't like one's in the Caribbean that have one threading through street traffic. read more

We are three ladies over 55 years of age and we came to Clearwater for a vacation. I've done Segway tours before but my two friends had not. I convinced them to try it and the three of use had a blast! Oliver was our tour guide and he took us out for a two hour tour of the area including heading over the bay bridge and through the first neighborhood in the area with big mansions of interesting architecture. We stopped at overlook areas and got some views. He was knowledgeable, very attentive to us by making sure we were safe the entire time, and he even cleaned up litter! It was a really fun thing to do for three older women on a beautiful day in Clearwater! Just go for it! read more

We love Segway tours and had a great time with a group of 5. Our tour guide, Joe, did a great job with the training. Several of our guests had not ridden before, and he made them feel comfortable before we headed out. The tour covers the beach, the causeway, the bay front, and the historic area of old Clearwater. There is a lot to see, and a Segway is a great way to see it! Views from the top of the bridge are amazing. You cant really appreciate the view from a car. This is a great way to spend an afternoon. My family had never ridden Segways so we were lucky to get the amazing Smiley Riley as our teacher and guide. She taught us all how to ride in 15 minutes and gave us an excellent 2 hour ride through Clearwater beach and over the bridge into Downtown Clearwater and some beautiful neighborhoods. What a total blast all of us had. Don't be afraid of riding as none of the 7 on the tour has ever ridden before and all of us did great the entire time. It's totally a bargain I think for 2 hours of fun in the sun. There is no question I will be doing this the next time I am in town. read more

This was so much fun! My sister, my 10-year-old son, and I decided to try this out because it always looked so fun when we saw other people doing it. It's a little nerve-racking in the first 10 minutes or so but it's amazing how quickly you go from complete novice to feeling like a pro on these things. I was especially nervous about my son, but he picked it up quicker and did better than all the adults honestly. So if you are nervous or afraid at all in the beginning, just hang in there for 10-15 minutes and I promise you will feel extremely comfortable and can then just enjoy the ride. Of course, clearwater beach is very crowded so you have to watch out for pedestrians and cars in some areas of the tour but as long as you pay attention to the tour guide and follow exactly what he does, you'll be fine. Speaking of the tour guide.... HE WAS AWESOME!!! I don't 100% remember his name because I'm bad about remembering names, but I think it might've been Mike. He's the only tour guide there so you'll get the same guy regardless. He was extremely nice and patient as we were learning. He led the group and positioned my son right behind him in line for extra precaution since he was the youngest. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area and told the historical facts and stories in a very engaging and interesting way. He talked just the right amount... not too little and not too much. He was very funny and had a great sense of humor. He made you feel like you were in good hands. Definitely give him a big tip at the end because he deserves it and it can't be easy doing this for several hours day after day in the hot Florida sun. read more

Booked 4 Segway tours of Clearwater Beach online for 2:00 on Sunday. At 1:30 someone called and told me they were canceling our trip because of the bad weather coming in. There was no weather issue, no rain, no wind... nothing the rest of the day. We played putt putt during the same time frame the tour would have been. My 2nd time on a Segway! Absolutely Loved It! This "course" starts at Clearwater Beach in the Magnusen parking lot($5 to park til 6pm). Goes along a bike path, over the causeway bridge, into the Historic District, to a gazebo on the water for a rest, and turn around then retrace back to the beginning. Plenty of photo ops, and bottle of water is provided. Joe is a patient, friendly. and knowledgable guide. Words of wisdom: Go on the a.m. tour and wear sunscreen. You'll spend about 2 hrs, 30 min of which is training and practice. You can stay parked there and walk across to spend time at the beach afterwards, so bring your beach stuff! read more

Clearwater Beach is a great location for a Segway tour. They have a great tour guide in Joe. He added a bit of history and background story to the trip. Only 2 suggestions - The email confirmation needs to be updated as it is a bit confusing on where to meet up and check in, the other is the Segway machines are well used and should be updated soon (although none broke down and performed well). I booked 8 of us seniors for a Segway Adventure at Clearwater Beach. We had to cancel twice due to our schedule conflict and once for weather. We experienced no problem doing this. When I rebooked the adventure, we were given the time and date requested. Our tour guide, Kaitlyn, was very involved with the safety of the Segways. Only two of us had not been on Segways before. The tour covered about 9-miles. The only complaint I have is that the reservation confirmation gave incorrect information on parking. The suggested parking location, Magnuson Hotel no longer exist. We ended up parking in the public beach parking lot across the street from the office area/Seaside Inn & Suites. We paid $9 for three hours. A hotel desk worker told us we could have parked in their lot all day for $5. We all had a great time on the Segways. read more

We did the Segway tour in Clearwater. let me preface this by saying we had already been frustrated with cancelations due to weather (they make it right in the end). However, the tour we went on was amazing. While we did not stop a lot for historical information, the times we did were well planned and our guide John was very knowledgeable about the different places. We were able to see multiple areas on both sides of the bridge and even got to really see what a Segway can do speed wise. John was super helpful and made sure everyone was safe. He answered all of the questions we had as a group (we had 2 separate groups on tour) and he was especially helpful with those that struggled at first. John was a great guide! I recommend this tour to anyone that is looking for something unique and fun to do, especially if you enjoy finding out unique facts about where you are staying. You'll get looks from the beach goers, but make the most of it and look at them right back! The most important thing is not that you might look weird, but that you are enjoying your time with loved ones! read more
