I also saw jewelry and home items that I thought would make good gifts for friends, family, and colleagues. Pam also gave me good recommendations for stores and restaurants in the area and told me about Third Friday in Wyandotte which sounds like an opportunity for the downtown area to showcase their businesses. There was no proof, just that the item was missing. I told her I didn't take anything and offered to help look for it--if she stopped threatening me. Instead, she took me to court. It took three months for them to produce video footage, which confirmed what I'd said all along: I never stole anything. I was not found guilty of any crime, yet I was forced to pay over $1,500 in legal costs simply to defend myself against a baseless accusation. Glow Fish Studios doesn't feel like a business anymore--it feels like a sting operation run by someone who gets a little too much satisfaction from accusing and humiliating people. I used to shop here often. I have no criminal background. This was deeply traumatic, and it seems they care more about "catching shoplifters" than actually treating customers like human beings. If you value integrity, avoid this place. They are not the small business they pretend to be. Overpriced shit that isn't even from real witches. Just gentrified, rich white women who profit off aesthetics, not authenticity. Save yourself the drama and support Motown Witch or Moonlit Mystic LLC--actual Black-owned Detroit shops that honor the craft and don't treat their customers like suspects.
