My oldest has been attending MKU since he was a little over 1, and he is displaying enough knowledge and skills to skip kindergarten at 5.5 years. My 1 year old comes home and tries to sweep and clean up spills himself. I can tell that the curriculum taught is helping my little ones grow as individuals. They do their best to mitigate and prevent the spread of illnesses as best as possible in a daycare with lots of young children. Their Compass app is a bit spotty and I wish they would either improve it or move to the Procare app only. However, overall, I highly recommend MKU Weatherford for the safety, learning, and affordability!

During that time, the center closed unexpectedly with no notice due to building code violations, we experienced major billing errors, and I was confronted by staff in an immature and unprofessional manner after reporting a concern to the director. Our time here ultimately ended due to a serious breakdown in professionalism involving classroom staff. A situation that should have been handled calmly and privately escalated into dismissive and confrontational behavior in front of children, followed by defensiveness rather than accountability. The tone and manner of communication were inappropriate for a childcare setting and left me deeply concerned about how conflict is handled when parents raise concerns. This was not a decision we made lightly after many years of enrollment. Parents should also pay close attention to the billing system. I was wrongly charged over $400 and had to fight to recover the money. The billing records are unnecessarily complicated, and it is extremely difficult to reach anyone beyond the center level to correct errors. It is concerning that funds can be withdrawn without clear, accessible accountability. I share this to encourage parents to remain vigilant, not only about staff professionalism and behavior, but also about billing accuracy and how concerns are addressed. Leadership matters, but so does the conduct modeled by the adults working directly with children every day.

PROS: - They meet my scheduling needs with business hours of 6:00am to 6:30pm Monday theough Friday. - They do pick up and drop off for my school age child, so I only need to make one drop off and pick up trip for both of my kids. - The teachers are nice and my kids love them all. CONS: - Their policy states that if your kid goes to school with them 3 or more days, you have to pay for the full weeks tuition... EVEN IF THEY CLOSED THE SCHOOL DOWN. They seem to have only ever been notified of a positive COVID case exposure at their school on a Wednesday, forcing them to have 4 day weekends, but families still required to pay for a full week. This includes staff and child exposures. Never have they had a report of a case on a Monday/Tuesday, where families could pay only for those days. Seems a little "coincidental" to me. - When my child was quarantined for 2 weeks because of an exposure she had at THEIR FACILITY, I still had to pay half price tuition for each week she was quarantined. - Recently, Texas had a terrible winter storm that caused many businesses and all schools to be closed down. Many of the families who have children at their facility have been dealing with no water, no power, busted pipes, spoiled food and other added expenses in their homes, while also being unable to work. Little Tyke was closed down the entire week as well, but still have the audacity to say they will be "discounting" the tuition for families that week by only charging us half rate. I know of at least 3 families in the past month alone, that have left their centers already or are in the process of looking for other daycare facilities due to these very reasons. When questioned about why we are being required to pay for services not rendered, their response was that they too had broken pipes from the storm and need to continue paying their staff. I find it incredibly upsetting that as a business whose food is paid for by the government and has business insurance to cover their broken pipes, would compare their situation to that of the families. On top of that, it is their choice to pay their staff even when they did not work, but I do not believe it is rational or ethical to charge our families for services not rendered and expect us to pay, no questions asked. Again, all of this is happening while in the midst of a pandemic AND a natural disaster. Shameful.

Brenda is there every morning and evening and knows the children by name- she also knows their parents and caregivers. She is vigilant in enforcing safety policies and ensuring daycare workers do the same. The teachers and workers are kind, energetic, and seem happy to be there. They've been teaching our child her numbers, alphabet, songs, reading, etc. They do have a curriculum they follow and expect the children to be prepared for school. More over, our child enjoys being there and is happy and well cared for when picked up.
