Our family was part of this center for many years. Over the past six months, however, we lost trust…read morein the safety, professionalism, and oversight of the program. During that time, the center closed unexpectedly with no notice due to building code violations, we experienced major billing errors, and I was confronted by staff in an immature and unprofessional manner after reporting a concern to the director. Our time here ultimately ended due to a serious breakdown in professionalism involving classroom staff. A situation that should have been handled calmly and privately escalated into dismissive and confrontational behavior in front of children, followed by defensiveness rather than accountability. The tone and manner of communication were inappropriate for a childcare setting and left me deeply concerned about how conflict is handled when parents raise concerns. This was not a decision we made lightly after many years of enrollment. Parents should also pay close attention to the billing system. I was wrongly charged over $400 and had to fight to recover the money. The billing records are unnecessarily complicated, and it is extremely difficult to reach anyone beyond the center level to correct errors. It is concerning that funds can be withdrawn without clear, accessible accountability. I share this to encourage parents to remain vigilant, not only about staff professionalism and behavior, but also about billing accuracy and how concerns are addressed. Leadership matters, but so does the conduct modeled by the adults working directly with children every day.

We have been using this as part time care for our son when we have appointments etc. though we…read moreenjoy this time away every time our son has been here he has come back sick every single time. We understand that kids being around people germs spread. During drop off it's very visible that other kids in the classroom have runny nose's, red eyes and coughing (viral/bacterial illness are very different than just "allergies"). I know they use non toxic products to disinfect their environment, but I believe it's the reason why we keep having issues it does not truly disinfect...We have enjoyed using this for the time but we will have to look into care outside of this facility. The front staff and teachers are all wonderfully kind and patient with the children. We have been impressed with the fun ways they keep our kids engaged and learning. What really puts South…read moreBowie over other daycares in town (which we've tried) is the availability of the owner and her interest in every child. Brenda is there every morning and evening and knows the children by name- she also knows their parents and caregivers. She is vigilant in enforcing safety policies and ensuring daycare workers do the same. The teachers and workers are kind, energetic, and seem happy to be there. They've been teaching our child her numbers, alphabet, songs, reading, etc. They do have a curriculum they follow and expect the children to be prepared for school. More over, our child enjoys being there and is happy and well cared for when picked up.

Not only is it nearly $100/week cheaper, the care is much better! All of teachers were excellent and the owner is wonderful. They did a great job with the Covid rules and keeping everyone healthy while maintaining 'normal' for the kids. Sadly my daughter had now started school but we miss Grace Learning Tree!
