I'm writing this review with deep frustration and disappointment about All About Smile Dental, particularly Peter, due to what I believe are deeply unethical and misleading business practices. I was clearly told that a procedure would be fully covered by my insurance, not once but multiple times. Peter is actually the one who scheduled the appointment 6 months in advance without first confirming if it would be covered or not. Based on that assurance, I agreed to move forward. Only after the procedure was done was I told that it was not covered -- and that I would need to pay out of pocket before leaving. This kind of bait-and-switch is completely unacceptable. I had previously referred several patients here, but after this experience, none of them will be returning, and I strongly advise others to stay far away. I will also be filing a formal complaint with my insurance provider and exploring options to report this situation. Their practice lacks transparency, professionalism, and basic respect for patient rights. I will never return, and I encourage others to seriously reconsider before trusting their dental care to this office. Please refer to other reviews given to this office and the new ownership and consider going to multiple other dental practices in the area. In addition, my friends have far better things to do than to be reviewing a random dental office they've never heard of. Please hire competent staff that can actually do their jobs and not just your husband. The other AWFUL reviews I've read in the past week are solely due to your incompetence and greed and have NOTHING to do with anyone I know (Please feel free to pull up their records in your system). Have some respect for yourself and learn to lead your life with better morals and values while you're at it and stop demeaning yourself over $100. Disgusting behavior. read more

They lie on their reply about antibiotics being prescribed elsewhere before. I haven't taken any antibiotics since March of 2023, so they are completely lying to protect their business. I had a similar experience to "Ayesha." They cleaned my teeth in Feb. I returned 6 months later and waited in the office for 20 mins for my cleaning when the office mgr "Peter" informed me that they couldn't clean my teeth due to receding gums! (unless I paid them almost $1,000 for a deep cleaning). I left and reported him to Kaiser. They were no help (not their fault). What disgusting, greedy people. read more

This place is shady, they added unnecessary stuff on my medical billing which I don't need. They should change their name to All about $$$$ dental group cause that's what they appear to be. They tried to put dental procedures that aren't covered with insurance so they can profit. And if you decline, they will use scare tactics, telling me I need the procedure done today and etc. They Don't want you to get a second opinion because they definitely are putting bogus procedure on your bill to add money. Was seen in 2020 to fix a chipped tooth. I paid "my portion" $300 plus a $10 "Covid PPE copay". I confirmed my pricing in advance and paid upfront at time at of service. I had to come back a week after they did my composite filling to have it fixed because it was uneven and a few months after their "fix" the composite filling done here chipped so I went to different dentist who was able to fix it much better and I had no $300 charge there, it was completely covered and has lasted years without any problem! I never came back here for further service and there are charges on my statement for multiple $25 "missed appointment" when I never rebooked. I make it a point to go over pricing and confirm what I'm eligible for and that everything will be covered BEFORE treatment. In 3 years they never sent me a bill, when I went back to get the filling fixed they never mentioned anything not being covered or owing any $, I left their office with a $0 balance "good to go" and now 3 years later they EMAIL me that I owe them hundreds ASAP or will send to collections? I disputed with my insurance immediately and they were very helpful. read more

Arine, a woman in front desk is very unprofessional, discriminates, and is rude. This is the second time, and I am done, I won't go there anymore. The doctor is amazing, but the clinic has to make sure to train Arine, or fire her. She is horrible. I don't recommend this office at all. read more

Sorry, but NO!  I do not recommend this office. The dentist was rushed and impersonal. I would even describe him as annoyed. They did the teeth cleaning and after that just said, unfortunately nobody is there for the dental exam, that I should come back another time. I'd not have kept the appointment if I had known that I was supposed to drive twice from Santa Monica to Encino! The receptionist was beyond unfriendly. Been coming here for many years. For the last year Carol has been treating me & she's great. Very informative, always patiently answers all my questions without ever seeming annoyed. The staff is always professional. I had deep cleaning, root canal & crown & no major issues. I had a few minor issues (crown fell out & a filling didn't feel right) & they fixed them. I went in for what I thought was a regular cleaning and to check on a wisdom tooth that had been bothering me. Instead I ended up with a deep cleaning and having to get my wisdom tooth removed. But the whole staff was friendly and kind, helping to calm my nerves and letting me know I'd be okay. I've never had a dentist like Carol, who explained the why and how of every process so I understood why the deep cleaning was necessary. Janae and Dr. Tony prepped and removed the tooth quickly and smoothly and I felt no pain! Recovery wasn't even as bad as I had been warned. I went to All About Smile Dental for three appointments and will never go back. The staff was friendly but they tried to upsell me at both appointments, telling me I had a lot wrong with my teeth. After my first appointment, which I scheduled as a new patient for X-Rays and a regular cleaning, I ended up paying $2000 out of pocket for a deep clean that they really made me believe I needed, pointing out a bunch of things on the X-rays. 6 months later, when I returned for a routine check-up, they tried to upsell me the same deep cleaning, which I knew I didn't need- I'm 30 years old and take good care of my teeth- and AGAIN at a third appointment. Finally, I went to a new dentist last week for a new patient exam, they said my teeth looked great after X-rays and a check-up and cleaning performed by the doctor himself. I also had recommended my friend go to All About Smile- she went for one appointment, where they tried to upsell her the same deep cleaning, telling her she had a bunch of things wrong with her teeth. Luckily she is more skeptical than I am, she got the basic cleaning and found a new dentist (the same one I am now going to). I will not return and will never recommend this place. Let me start with Carol the hygienist. She is probably one of the best hygienist I've ever been to. Very kind and very thorough. I would totally go back to her in a heartbeat! When I walked in this time to get my teeth clean the entire staff was new including the (DR) dentist. I used a Groupon with my first visit, and it was fine...I assumed the rushed treatment was for the discounted price, but when I tried to book again as a regular patient, I went up against multiple office challenges with insurance, scheduling, and a bill for cancelling an appointment 24h in advance....I was sick with strep, and still got the bill.
