I've never actually been inside All About the Gown, yet all I have are good things to say about this establishment based on my interactions via telephone and Instagram. These people have integrity and want the best for their brides!! I was going to come here for my wedding dress until Governor Pritzker put a mandatory quarantine on Chicagoans when traveling from Wisconsin. When All About The Gown saw that I had already gotten a dress at a different Illinois bridal boutique on my Instagram (my wedding is only 8 months away, so it was definitely time) they commented with only kind words for me. This was so kinda and really spoke volumes on their character. If you want to be around kind women while choosing your gorgeous wedding dress, this is the place for you!! I HIGHLY recommend All About the Gown in Lake Geneva! I had purchased tuxedos here in the past for my son when he was in high school so I knew that their customer services was great but WOW! I had my appointment to view wedding gowns and was simply blown away by how special Celeste made my day! I came in with my mother, my sister and my daughter and we were treated so very well. I searched several "big box" stores for my perfect dress and never felt quite right. While I was looking to not spend much money, my gut told me to keep looking. Every woman hopes for a great experience when wedding dress shopping, but what I got was humiliation and disappointment! I was honest about my size when I made the appointment but when I arrived I was forced to "shimmy" into two sizes smaller than what I was. On top of that the girl that was fitting me was too young to know what she was doing. Instead of admitting to the problem the staff continued to bring more dress that were the wrong size and style. Amazing!! We called ahead about 45 minutes and easily made an appointment. The saleswomen were very warm and welcoming immediately. I am a young and young looking bride, and this was my first time trying on wedding dresses, so I was apprehensive about being treated in a condescending manor. They were nothing but professional and encouraging!!! I would recommend this place to everyone, they had a wide variety of dresses and recommended some dresses I wouldn't have thought of. Was in there a few weeks ago to look for my wedding dress. It was my first time trying on dresses and since my wedding is in October, I knew I would have to buy off the rack. I thought this would also save on the price. Well, I was wrong. I was charged hundreds more then what I have seen online for the exact same dress and then had to pay almost $800 in alterations. The staff was amazing and did a great job, I just wish they would have been more upfront with the pricing. Since it was bought off the rack the seamstress had to also do repairs on it which can be expedited for off the rack but also why there should be a decent discount. Like I said the staff was lovely and did a wonderful just, just left feeling a little taken advantage of financially when I saw the dress somewhere else for significantly less for a band new dress and not something off the rack. read more

My daughter and I first visited when it was owned by Germaine. It was a great experience. We worked with April and found a stunning wedding dress, veil and jewelry. I checked in regularly to ensure the dress would arrive in time for the first fitting. When we arrived for the fitting, we were surprised to learn that there was a new owner. However, there were no issues and the process was seamless. Judy was also wonderful (as well as Mary, who did the alterations). Judy ensured that my daughter's wedding dress fit perfectly! This place was amazing! I did my research ahead of time on good bridal salons because I was so nervous to start the process of buying a wedding gown and this shop did not disappoint! The consultants listened to my needs and were knowledgeable about their inventory and any specifics questions I had. I actually bought the first dress I put on! I postponed dress shopping out of fear and if I knew what a great experience it was going to be I would have went sooner. Due to covid they are encouraging you to buy off the rack but they have a variety of sizes! I'm not skinny but I'm not quite plus size and I felt confident and happy in all the dresses this shop had to offer. I would highly recommend, especially for someone nervous to start! read more

Fantastic service and just stunning gowns I purchase a high end wedding gown off the floor due to a surgery and in a short period of time as my wedding date is just around the corner. Judy and Stephany were absolutely fantastic, not only are they personable they are friends. I tried on 25 dresses and believe me they'll have the gown for you. The owner is a mother, she is amazing and passionate for brides. I'm recently engaged and visiting from out of town and I noticed the beautiful windows so I decided to stop in. Little did I think I would find my wedding dress. I don't remember the ladies name who helped me but she was very sweet. Judy the owner not so sweet. Lack of communication during the end of my experience with Judy, that has now left me With what I thought was a good experience now into terribly awful one. This review isn't to bash the place, but simply warn other brides to ask questions and understand their policies that they do not inform you of. Because of MY experience that was ruined, I will rate them zero stars. Hopefully other brides will have a much happier experience shall they choose to come here because I do not wish anyone to feel the way do after leaving this place. I've been in tears since I left the place and it's suppose to be a magical feeling. After all it is the biggest day of your life and it should be perfect! so don't get caught up in sweet sales talk and people making you think you want something you don't. Charming little shop with a beautiful selection of dresses. My daughter did buy her dress from All About The Gown and it is truly beautiful, however, the saleswoman who sold her the dress measured her incorrectly and the dress is too small. I knew alterations were going to have to be done, and once I finally found a seamstress to help us, it became apparent that that dress would never fit her properly. When we picked the dress up, my daughter was called by the wrong name, put into a dressing room with ill lighting and when we commented on how small it was, the response was that was what we agreed to purchase 2 months earlier. The wedding is in 3 weeks and the dress is so tight that we are forced into buying another dress to change into immediately after the ceremony. For $2,000, I would have expected, better treatment from staff, a better sized gown, and some type of solution for our problem. read more
