The owners are fantastic and the senseis offer great instruction. My son has been going here for a couple years now and is really learning a lot and I feel it's done wonders in boosting his confidence and discipline. If your looking to get your kiddos involved in an activity, I highly recommend All American Karate. My son and daughter have been coming for a few years now and love it. Even through the shutdowns they remained open - with virtual classes. Now they are back open. Instructors wear masks. Students social distance and have their temperatures taken and hands washed before class. We feel safe here and are very greatful to have them open for our kids as a sort of normal social interaction when the schools are still closed. Throwing it out there is case anyone is looking. My son is 7 he has attended the school for approximately 4 months or so he enjoyed it we were sad when we had to stop going because we moved farther away but are considering returning despite the traffic for us! This is a great school!! My two boys ages 7 and 8 have been learning a lot. After 4 months I see a big difference in their attitude they are more confident and overall are learning discipline and learning how to move their body for self defense. Great school! As a high school teacher, I know the value of routine and discipline. At All-American Karate, these skills are part of the daily core teachings. The students learn katas, weapons, and self-defense in their classes; however, the real lessons are the ones they learn without direct instruction: respect, self-reliance, and confidence. I have been attending this school and participating in the adult class for over two years. Since there is no contract, my busy life doesn't "cost" me any additional money. I pay month to month. During the months I am busiest at school, I can stop for a little while and just jump right back in when summer rolls around. The instructors are incredibly patient and caring. Since it is a family-run school, they make everyone feel welcomed and part of the family. Sensie John Lipari is a well respected 8th degree blackbelt and has been teaching in the area for over 25 years. Sensei Nicole is a little powerhouse who keeps the classes moving at a great pace and is always willing to help. And, if you go to the morning class, Sensei Sherie is a great instructor for women who need extra help overcoming physical limitations. So, if you are looking to learn something new, have a sense of belonging in the community, and train in the martial arts, All-American Karate is a great place to train. read more

My daughter approached me when she was 5 years old at Montessori School, and said they were going to be giving Karate lessons and she wanted to know if it was OK if she took the class. The Sensei's were from All American Karate. AAKS Karate is a combination of Japanese Karate, Judo and grappling. Seven years later, my daughter became a black belt in AAKS Karate. This studio is designed and centered on kids and family. They don't teach you how to be aggressive, they teach you how to defend. It is a great staff, your child will grow if you spend the time. Although we know that AAKS stands for All American Karate, ask any student there, and they will say Attitude, Attitude, Knowledge and Skill. I cannot recommend this Studio enough. read more

Great school. My kids joined years ago, followed by my wife. Almost 10 years ago, I just sat in the audience and watched all the assistant instructors, the black belts and the owner of the school (Sensei John Lipari) teaching the classes. All were very kind and helpful and emphasized control during sparring sessions to ensure no one got hurt. I eventually decided to sign up and have been attending since. While the focus of the school is Karate, they also provide additional training in Judo, which is included in the monthly Karate fees. Some martial arts dojos require you to sign a contract, and charge significant fees for promotions, but I find this school to be the most reasonable as there are only monthly fees and you can stop at anytime. Another benefit is that only the first two people in your direct family are charged tuition fees, which meant that my 3 kids were able to attend for free. If you are looking for a safe, family-friendly environment, learning self-discipline, confidence and respect, as well as getting a great workout, you will love this school. read more

For kids and as an introduction to martial arts it's a great school, there are so many students however, that you might not get the personalized attention of a smaller school. The instructors however are great, caring and dedicated and do their best. For adults, the trading karate is not very self defense oriented but more of a sport. I know however that when I used to go here they had a krav Maga class for adults who were looking for self defense only. read more

My daughter has been going here for almost a year now and she absolutely LOVES it. Everyone is friendly and the kids learn true self defense while making it fun for them. They also do weekend activities and Karate Summer Day Camp. That means you can drop your kid off as early as 7am and you have until 6pm to pick them up (for working parents). It's a good alternative to daycare in the summer because it's a lot cheaper than what a daycare would charge you and they go up the ranks faster. I believe it is $100 per week for the camp or $25/day. I can't wait until my son is old enough to attend. I highly recommend this place for karate. This is an amazing facility where no detail has been overlooked. There is a parents area with seating for 100+; a kids area where siblings or friends who are not in class can hang out, do homework, play games or watch a movie; there are 4 changing rooms, a diaper changing station, mirrors that run the front length of the school and great big windows so your view is never obstructed! The instructors are all extremely dedicated, nurturing and always ready to answer your questions and help out. There are no contracts to sign, tuition is on a month to month basis and is way cheaper than any of the competition, plus they give a break to families who train there: 1st person is full price; 2nd person is 50% off and the 3rd person and anyone else in your family trains FREE!! That is unheard of anywhere else! All American Karate must be doing something right to have such great instructors, prices and camaraderie amongst the staff and students alike! The good: Convenient hours, plenty of parking. High ranking head instructor. The bad: The head instructor holds a high "rank" and "years" of experience but I would be embarrassed to have his rank and experience with as little knowledge as he has. Many of the "black belt" instructors lack skill and have zero experience in self defense. Much of the self defense taught is worthless. The head instructor has a huge ego but lacks the skill to support it. Any techniques learned from outside the school are wrong and the instructor is always right. Promotions are not based on merit but instead on the whim of the head instructor. The head instructor has told people, adults and children alike, who they can or cannot associate with OUTSIDE the school. Training somewhere else is frowned upon and will slow your progress or result in your expulsion from the school. The school is not part of any martial arts association so your rank in karate or judo is not recognized by any organization outside the school. There are many other problems with the school, too many to get into. Conclusion: If you are looking for a place to play at Martial arts with no expectations of learning anything practical, this may be the place for you. If you want to learn effective karate for self defense, look for another school. read more

I've been coming here a few weeks now as a single mom with my 8 year old son and so far we love it! In reading a negative review here I'm appalled someone can assume they are writing their own reviews! That's defamation of character! It's one thing to say you aren't satisfied and move on but to then assume and accuse without merit shows lack of character. I see so many people come here and appear to be happy which speaks for itself! There are a variety of instructors and you aren't always going to like everyone everywhere you go! That's life! Suck it up! I've spoken with several staff and see how my son and other kids are treated and given ample attention and even one to one during class because they have several instructors and haven't had a mean or rude one yet! No nose in the air peeps and I've been embarrassed with not learning how to do the belt for my son and everyone has been caring and kind here about it and in regards to my many "silly" questions! I look forward to taking my son here and watching! They even have a play area and homework table! read more
