I visited and toured three different schools and spoke on the phone to many more. I am a first grade teacher and have a master's degree in education. Due to my background in education I had a long list of requirements regarding which school would be right for my son. I can tell you that AMMS made my choice an easy one! It was by far the hands-down best choice I found! My son has been a student for a year and a half and I would love to share some of the reasons why AMMS is a remarkable school! One of the major strengths of AMMS is how it offers an extremely balanced program with a very strong emphasis on academics. I am still shocked but thankful that my four year old's "Progress Report" is eight pages long! He has the opportunity to participate in both mathematic and language arts activities as well as many other subjects on a daily basis. I can also speak to how well AMMS prepares students that may choose to transition to a traditional school environment. I have had two first grade students in my classroom that graduated from the AMMS kindergarten program. I was extremely impressed with how self-disciplined they were as well as with how academically prepared they were. Both students met and exceeded my expectations as first graders and I attribute a large degree of that success to how strong of a program AMMS offers. I am continually impressed with how organized, clean and professional AMMS is. AMMS keeps the classrooms kid-friendly, safe, and clean. I really appreciate the level of communication AMMS offers to parents. Brandy and Kelly run the office extremely efficiently and keep the staff and parents well informed. At the beginning of our first year at AMMS, my husband and I attended a parent meeting and received a very helpful 40 page "Parent Handbook." AMMS offers the perfect balance of being professional and personal. The integrity they show in running their school is rock-solid. I am so thankful for the family feel at AMMS. Brandy, Kelly and all of the teachers and staff members are incredible. It is obvious how passionate they are about helping students reach their full potential academically and socially. I love their hearts for children and for teaching. My son had a very difficult time adjusting to his first year of school. Brandy, Kelly and his other teachers were incredibly patient, kind, supportive and empathetic. They offered their time over and over for conferences, phone calls and emails. We talked, laughed and even cried together! I am thankful that teaching young children is more than a "job" for the staff at AMMS. I believe they see teaching young children as a calling. For all these reasons and more I believe that AMMS offers a tremendous educational program that is unmatched in this area. Even more importantly than that, I believe that Brandy and her staff are some of the most compassionate, caring and thoughtful people I have ever met and I am thankful to know them!

We considered Absorbent Minds based on a referral from a co-worker. After touring the school, observing a classroom and meeting the staff, we knew right away that this is where we wanted him to be. We continue to be amazed by the wealth of knowledge and growth of character he has gained at Absorbent Minds. The staff is amazing and the program is exceptional. As someone who went to the Goddard school for years if this is something you are looking for...just go down the street. The teachers have little to zero desire to be there and it is obvious. My son would come home saying he heard cussing by them all day and being told countless time that they cant wait until the kids leave. They have zero control over the environment and have a lot of throwing of toys and other objects. There was an incident of inappropriate behavior that was never properly addressed or handled. They tend to ignore any issues and just agree that it isn't ok.... yeah we know. I had advised them that we will be leaving due to all of this and the teachers inappropriate behavior. The next day I was charge for the next month a week and a half early. Overall, this is by far the ABSOLUTE WORST experience I have ever had with child care. Completely unprofessional environment. I am still in shock with the things my son would come home and tell me he overhead or was told from the "teachers" There is not an ounce of this place I would recommend.

As soon as you walk in the doors, there is a vibe and feeling like no other. Whether you are in the front office area, in the classrooms, or even chatting in the main play area with another family or the teachers, you are greeted with smiling faces and laughter. The staff truly love the children like their own, and their goal each and every day is to make sure that the children are in a safe, fun learning environment. The academic curriculum surpasses all others. I love that my children are able to learn how to read, write, speak Spanish and French, but also learn about respecting others and cooperation outside the home. Truly a wonderful place and I would always recommend them first! 5 stars all around!

In the pre-k classroom the curriculum is fun, educational and age appropriate. Our son knows his letters, numbers and most importantly demonstrates a love for learning. TLC has been incredibly flexible with my fluctuating work schedule and my son can't wait to get to school every morning. Not sure what we'd do without TLC!

Let me preface my review by saying that I do have high expectations when someone watches my child…read more I am happy to pay whatever dollar amount, but inconsistent care is not acceptable. We moved in from out of state and I looked at 2 daycares. A national chain that used with a curricular approach and TLC. We chose TLC, because of the low infant to 'teacher' ratio, which is 3 to 1. The facility is nice and people were nice enough. Pricing was high for this market, but expected at that level of staffing. The first week or so were a bit of a transition, which we expected. My son didn't sleep well there and stopped holding his bottle and being as active as normal. I chalked this up to a big move and change of daycares. After about 2 weeks things started to get a little strange, whenever we picked up my son he was either sleeping or being fed. We never saw him on the floor playing with other kids. The other kids were always being fed or sleeping. Granted we weren't there long stretches of time, but I heard parents say the same thing to the workers. In week 3, we showed up to drop off my son and the infant room did not have a normal teacher. The fill in from the toddler room stated she didn't know where anyone was. She also stated she understood if we didn't want to leave him with her. All of this struck us as strange. We decided based on gut to leave. I emailed the management and expressed my concern about a lack of backup and system in place to deal with this type of situation. The reply from management was 'these things happen especially with bad weather.' The problem with this statement is that day did not have bad weather. We took the weekend to think about it and thought to give it one more shot. We tried to make an appointment with management and they kept pushing the date to later in the week. This should have been telling that they were not receptive to our concerns. We took my son to the daycare and the lead teacher was in the room. She apologized for the lack of a teacher on the prior Friday. She said the teacher who is normally there had an issue late night at her apartment. We left our son and decided my wife would go back to check. She did and the normal early morning teacher was very sick and talking to the lead teacher. They both seemed surprised my wife showed up. My wife found my son in the crib with a dirty diaper screaming. He had obviously been crying for a while. The two teachers had been in the other room talking evidently not paying attention to the crying of my son or other children. Ultimately, the number of incidents in a compressed time made us switch daycares. For some reason the management decided it was necessary to write an email telling me why all my concerns were baseless after we pulled him. Additionally, they stated no other children had been pulled in the past 11 years. This is patently false. A child at our new daycare was originally at TLC. I do not think they mistreat children, but in the week after being at TLC my son had reengaged with the new kids at his new daycare. He was scooting around laughing with the other kids and playing with the teacher. This is exactly how he interacted in his prior daycare. I am sure this review will send them through the roof, but it is all true. I am giving it 2 stars, cause the facility is nice.

The director, Amy does an exceptional job communicating with parents about the little and big things that are going on at the center. I love all the security measures, the KinderCare app and just having a regular down to earth conversation with the staff.
