This is a long overdue review; however, it gave me time to put my emotions aside and formulate a…read morefactual, to-the-point review of my very negative experience with Primrose Schools of Solon. Upon first visiting Primrose, I was incredibly impressed with the new, clean environment. Everything was up to date, security was on point, and things appeared very sanitary. The director at the time was very kind and knowledgeable, and she did a great job selling me on all of the reasons why Primrose would be a great fit for my daughter. I felt good about the decision, and a few days later gave my deposit for her to start when there was an opening - which they promised would be no later than end of September. End of September came and went, and no word from Primrose. We came to find out that the director I had spoken with had left, and we were completely forgotten about. Red flag #1. Once I finally got through to them and had my daughter start, it was one issue after another. I specifically asked them not to give my daughter milk. She was given milk on three separate occasions. Each time, I reminded them - both verbally and via handwritten notes. Since she does not drink milk, she was dying of thirst when I picked her up and would suck down her water on the way home. Red flag #2. I was told (and it was documented in paperwork) that a backup lunch is offered if the child does not like what is provided. It was communicated in my daughter's notes three times that she had not eaten any of her lunches. Thankfully, I picked her up before nap, so it was not an issue and she was able to eat when she got home. Red flag #3. In the short time (three months) that my daughter attended, there were not one, not two, but THREE different directors. I understand there is turnover in the childcare industry, but WOW. Something is obviously very wrong! Red flag #4. And finally, the last, and most notable occurrence. I wrote up an email outlining all of these issues and sent it to the franchise owner, Jana Massary. She took her time getting back to me and let me know that she had "several meetings" and would be back in touch with me later that day. From the moment she called me, I knew it was going to be a bad interaction. She was incredibly rude, demeaning, and, quite frankly, the exact opposite of the type of person you would want caring for your children. She issued zero apologies for anything we had gone through, and proceeded to hang up on me in the middle of the conversation. I would say that she's someone that clearly can't take negative feedback, but what I provided her were straight facts and experiences that we had while my daughter was in their care. It is clear that I would advise anyone and everyone from choosing somewhere other than Primrose. There is nothing "warm" about the school, and it is clear that it stems directly from the leadership. It is no wonder that teachers are electing to leave at such a rapid pace, and from what I've heard, families as well.

Many of the teachers who were there when my now five-year-old started as a baby are still there now taking care of my three-year-old. They did a great job keeping everyone safe during the pandemic and managed to close for only two and a half months. It has all the convenience of a corporate daycare center, but has a tight-knit family vibe, which is nice. Probably the biggest con is that they don't provide lunch, so we have to pack their lunches every day. They do provide breakfast and an afternoon snack, though. You can tell the teachers genuinely love and care for the kids. My daughter had some behavioral issues when she was three, and they were so patient with her and worked with her and us to get her through it, which I really appreciate. My daughter will be going there a few days a week this summer, and they have fun field trips planned three days a week for the school-aged kids. Next year will be my son's last year there full-time, and I'm genuinely bummed about it!

I participated in this school for one year. I left because the school age teacher was unkind to my child. I spoke with the teacher to try to get a better understanding and the manager of the school. I don't think the teacher was reprimanded. I like the location of this center, if it weren't for the teacher we would still be there. Children under three and infants are well cared for.

There have been oftentimes classrooms are over ratio to state guidelines. When it comes to communication among teachers, it's not quite there. It has become common to hear "I don't know" when asking a question in regards to my child's day. There have been times I have seen teachers not paying attention to kids whether it's taking over the fence while kids are on the playground and their back is turned to them or being on their phone. There was a time I came to drop off diapers and all the teachers were just sitting in chairs. Not one single of the new teachers and assistant director ever bothered to introduce themselves and I can guarantee don't know my name as a parent. Incident reports no longer go home. My child got hit and had a bloody nose and no one bothered to call or send home an incident report but rather just updated in the app. After having a sit-down, the owner and assistant director were not very welcoming in bringing up concerns so not all concerns were brought up. It's very much a "can do no wrong attitude" even when my daughter came home with fingerprint marks on her leg that looked like it had been from holding too tight during diaper changes. Upon leaving, I could overhear them gossiping about me as a parent when they thought the door was shut. It's not the first time though that concerns got brushed under the rug. Sasha has been the only asset to this company and we have appreciated all that she has done. I have attached pictures of the fingerprints, the bite mark from when my daughter came home with (I had to tell them it looked like a bite mark for them to even look at the cameras because they weren't watching and didn't see it happen), a teacher on her phone, as well as the threats. *Since posting our review on google I have received quite the message about being sued for posting our experience which should indicate how well parental feedback is taken.

As a result, he asked us to find another school and kept our $200 deposit for our daughter. We were loyal customers to this school for two years. This meant nothing, it seems. We understand the policy had changed for holding our daughter's place here; however, the way the owner communicated this change was lacking and unprofessional.

They also occasionally update us with pictures and videos of activities which always brings a smile to my face seeing my little one interact with the other children. Another huge plus for me is their hours! Being that they close at 630PM, it allows plenty of time after work to run any type of errand I need to before picking her up. I started my child at Childtime about almost 3 years ago and my child absolutely loves it. She loves her teachers and learns so much. The staff always greet my child and I upon our arrival and departure. They make parents and children feel welcome at all times and are always there to help when I have any questions. Childtime is a great place for your child to be.
