In all fairness, I did NOT reach out to Varinia to ask for compensation or request re-work because I do NOT want to pay for re-work which I personally would feel obligated to do if someone did work for me. I am NOT saying the company would ask me to pay but I would feel bad. Also, any re-work that would need to resolve this issue would really be to tear out most of the nails, screws, etc and start over. I cannot go without a fence at this point. So for me, there is no "mutual" resolution. I would never ask for a refund or discount since I do feel the company did work hard! I just expected first time quality with better materials. I do believe this company is a hard working and passionate family business that strives to do their best. I just stand by my statements below regarding my fence. See original review below... BLUF: Very friendly service and accommodating to other requests but for quality of workmanship... that was far from professional. Let me be fully honest in saying I did ask for other items besides building a fence for my dogs and I didn't really have a lot of expectations but the workmanship on my fence was very disappointing. I gained or should I say regained full custody of my fur babies after the ex and I went our separate ways. I wasn't planning on finding a place that allowed dogs but in the end, the ex and I both know that the dogs are much better off with me. I searched for contractors as I really need to get a fenced in area for my dogs asap. It honestly pains me to give 3 stars but after talking with my ex about the quality of workmanship and the fact that he paid $4k to fence in his entire yard using 100 ft of material and I paid $2.2k for 33 ft to fence in a very small patio, I probably should've gone with the company he used. His fence is beautiful with great material used and no holes or nails sticking out or huge gaps between the wood slats!! Varinia told me that her and her family started this company in 2019 during COVID. I'm all for supporting small businesses. I definitely shop at big name stores but try to use local businesses when I can. Full disclosure. I was desperate and AZHI was the first company that could build a fence for me in such a short amount of time. I told Varinia that while I didn't want a gold plated fence, I would accept the estimate and didn't give them much of my expectations. In hindsight, I should've asked for my fence to be much higher because all my neighbors can see into my patio which is very awkward. But I don't blame AZHI. My fault and I only noticed it after it was built. I did ask AZHI to do a few other odd jobs for me which they did and I didn't have any issues with those but the fence... yeah very disappointing. I posted my photos to show what I'm talking about. The lock on one gate still doesn't work properly. Varinia also stated that and said she would change it out since it seemed defective. However, that never happened and now I'm going to go with a different company to do that change out and one other job. Some of the slats are so far apart that people can see into my patio. The wood rot holes are BIG. People just peer in to see if I'm home. Very awkward and scary. Nails and screws protruding out and smashed down. Very unprofessional looking. Sorry. It is!! Please understand that this is my experience and I'm sure that AZHI does a great job on other home improvement areas but my personal opinion is that fencing isn't exactly their expertise. I do truly appreciate their ability to complete the job quickly albeit longer than first estimated. But again, that isn't my issue. Perhaps others experiences will be far better than mine I hope! They didn't have a lot of bathroom photos on their website, but the kitchen photos from past projects look great. I had them remove the shower insert, move a shower wall into the closet, redesign the closet, and tile the shower. They were great about laying down sheets, so no dirty shoes or dust were on the floors. Walter checked in at every major stage and resolved any issues as they came up. Absolutely would Recommend them to others, and will definitely be using them to renovate our second bathroom in the future!
