Doctors were in hallway partying as I left the office area after the appointment. I guess that was more important than helping me! I came strictly for a massage, which I clearly stated during my previous appointment and again when I arrived. Despite this, the chiropractor insisted I get an alignment I did not need. When I politely declined, her entire demeanor changed. She went from smiling to visibly irritated, telling me my insurance "wouldn't pay" unless I received her service. I told her I was willing to pay full price for the massage only. Instead of respecting my choice, she walked away mumbling, shaking her head, and acting completely unprofessional. What happened next was even worse. She called the receptionist over, and both of them looked out from the room they were in, stared at me, and laughed. I have never seen a so‑called professional behave this way toward a patient. It was disrespectful, immature, and absolutely unacceptable. I will always listen to my body and refuse services I do not need just so someone can bill insurance or secure a paycheck. This behavior was appalling and showed a complete lack of professionalism and care. If I could give a zero‑star rating, I would. The only reason I am giving two stars is because the two young ladies who provide the massages are amazing, respectful, and truly professional. They deserve recognition, even though the chiropractor's conduct overshadowed the entire visit.

To start, I was unable to stand up from sitting without experience grievous pain in my lower back. The doc ran a few tests to find out exactly where the pain originated. He found the nerves #4 and #5 in my lower back were causing the concern. He issued me some medicine; then a week later did a lower back injection... This relieved the pain for about a month. When I returned, he continued the treatment; which then lasted over a month and is still going strong today. We were apprehensive due to the reviews, but hopeful, because the drive was shorter. Now, we wish we never set foot there. They made an already devastating experience even worse. They changed medications without telling us, which affected preexisting conditions and personality. They were not equipped with specialists needed. Their nursing is subpar. They are lazy and inattentive. Their communication with patients, families, and each other is horrendous. We had a family member there at all times, except overnight, because we could not trust them to do their jobs. We learned that the night shift staff was the laziest. We advocated and attended to our loved one when alarms went off and we had to hunt people down, or if the nurses didn't assist with toileting and loved one messed. We noticed symptoms and requested care and testing. We were so excited for our loved one to transfer to the next facility- a light at the end of the tunnel, though we felt pushed out of UPMC Memorial too quickly. When we arrived at the new facility, we learned that UPMC did NOT efficiently prepare them for us. They had no idea what our patient needed. We had to start over. The new facility immediately began correcting wrong medications and fixing UPMC Memorial's mistakes. We are praying their care will ease the mental anguish and unnecessary distress caused to our loved one, over time. If we didn't have a person with our loved one at all times, who knows how this would have turned out. UPMC Memorial dropped ALL the balls when it comes to providing care, comfort, communication, consistency, attention, and healing. There are a handful of good eggs for whom we're grateful. A tech here or there, a nurse or two, a PT, an SLP. But they alone unfortunately cannot make up for the utter recklessness and laziness we experienced in our few weeks there. Please, go elsewhere.

They asked how much the certificate was for and I said there was no dollar value on it, just for the service to be performed. I was told their prices went up and I'd be responsible for the difference. I asked if they would honor the certificate as written and they said no. I escalated it 2 levels, and spoke with Stephanie Shull the Senior Practice Manager. She called me today and also said they would not honor it as written and I'd have to pay the difference. I feel this is horrible customer service and told them that. We will be going there to get a refund and they have lost any future business from my family and I'll be sure to tell others.

What is wrong these doctors today. They act as if they are God. I wanted to give him a chance and was referred to Penn state pain management but I have lost respect for Dr. V. Patients have the right to be treated for pain!!! Not everyone is seeking pain meds .... It doesn't make you an addict just because of chronic nerve pain with post traumatic left ankle arthritis due to an injury and a podiatrist . Dr. C who performed surgery on me in 2017 and cut and removed a nerve in my ankle that he said needed to be removed. i ended up with a neuroma on the lower lateral side of my left leg.... Never was I informed this could happen. I have been in pain ever since then. i also asked Dr.V in order to confirm it's a neuroma that should i have an MRI ? He said I have to go to another doctor to order that test..... he never even told me who to contact for an MRi. Then back to the peripheral nerve stimulator. I wanted to know why not do a radio frequency nerve ablation and the secretary told me he said he thought it may not work on my condition.... Yes the secretary had to go back and ask him because he left the room too fast so I told her I needed to know and she went back and asked him herself for me. So I can bet you I will get a bill from him and I am the patient who deserves to get answers while I am at the doctors appointment. I did not get proper treatment or answers to some pertinent questions..... anyway as I said he was not nice to me at all. I could never treat a patient as he treated me.... He acted like he was in such a big hurry to go nowhere. It's a shame that patients are getting treated so poorly.... At least I was.... as I said his assistant Dr. K was very nice to me , although Dr. V needs some lessons on bedside manner and kindness along with empathy and respect to his patients.

EXTREMELY AWFUL HOSPITAL. I was assaulted and violated during my echo and tilt table. I left there…read morewith several bruises all over my breasts. When I stated I was uncomfortable and in SEVERE PAIN I was told to "just be quiet, I am almost finished" the nurses leaned all over my body during the procedures. The procedures in general felt 'rushed' as if the nurses did not want to be there and do their job. I felt extremely uncomfortable and violated, I was not reassured once, I was not informed about the process, I felt as if I was being treated like a criminal in a place that is supposed to show you the most care and comfort. There were at LEAST, 8 different nurses in a room with you, one of them will be playing on their phone while the other is playing around on her Apple Watch, while the other is being trained. We are the practice dummies. These nurses are right out of high school and have absolutely no idea what is going on around them. I would never, EVER recommend anybody to this hospital! I am traumatized, I will never be returning. I will need therapy after my experience at this Ephrata hospital. Please, if you care about your health and body, do not go here, do not send your children here.
