Our beloved service dog pet, Shepp, has been kenneled twice with All Breed, and they were both, very affordable and EXCELLENT! They have land, which allows big dogs to run and roam. And, if your dog needs sunshine, fresh air and runs, the owner, Matt, allows dogs to run with him on property. Matt was very professional, personal, warm and inviting and made it clear he was not only capable, but passionate about dogs, as I watched his interaction with my dog, Shepp and others. I know Shepp enjoyed his 5 day stay, because when we returned for the 2nd time, Shepp recognized where we were going and got excited, panting heavily, wagging his tail swiftly, and upon arrival, couldn't wait to get inside. Now, that's telling! Shepp has found a home, away from home, that we can trust, he'll be well taken care of and loved while we're away. When we returned a day late due to missing a flight, and stuck in an airport, Matt was accessible and understood us having to recover Shepp a day late. I've already recommended All Breed to neighbors in our RV park located in the heart of Salem. Our RV park has many long term residents and it doesn't provide a "real space" for dogs to stretch their legs. All Breed can be a safe, affordable and loving option to offset this, even if, it's just for a day. I needed a place for my 14 month old lab to stay while I visited friends in Salem over the Thanksgiving holiday. He had done daycare and had in-home sitters before, but had never been boarded. I felt a little guilty leaving him alone until I pulled up. What a beautiful facility! And such friendly, caring staff. Matt got back to me promptly any time I contacted him both before and during boarding and could not have been nicer each time. The icing on the cake was that for a small fee, I could get Ted washed before packing him back in the car for our 4 hour drive home - no dirty dog to deal with at home! I wish I could give zero stars. All Breed Dog Boarding was a terrible choice for taking care of our dog while we were out of town for two nights. We dropped him off with his food, collar, and lead on a Friday and filled out paperwork saying that we planned to pick him up before they closed at noon on Sunday and paid extra for a Premium Bath. We were delayed on Sunday morning and knew we were going to be a little late to pick him up, so I called the office 20 minutes before close and left a message explaining our delay and asking for a return call to see if we would still be able to pick up our dog. I received no call back, so I called again five minutes before close asking for a return call before they left for the day so I could schedule a pick up for the next day if they could not wait for us. No one returned my call. We made it to their location 15 minutes after close, and there was no one there, which was understandable, but I was extremely disappointed that they closed without returning my calls, and without calling at all after I missed my pick up. I did not even receive a the following day before I picked up my pet. When I arrived to pick him up the following day, I mentioned that I had called several times and had not received a call. I was told that their phone number goes directly to the owner and not the actual facility. I then asked why they didn't contact me when I missed my scheduled pick up time. Instead of answering me, she offered me a dollar off the extra night to "call it good" and asked me not to mention it. How insulting! And what a horrible way to run a business. When she finally brought me my dog, the first thing I noticed was that his muzzle was caked with blood. I asked the woman what had happened, and she nonchalantly told me that there is a bar in the kennel that he must have been rubbing his nose on, but that it was no big deal. I was shocked. The second thing I noticed was that he reeked of urine - not a little pee, but a ridiculously strong smell. Again, this was treated by the staff as no big deal. I was told that he had a bath on Sunday, but since I was not able to pick him up on time, he was put back in his kennel, where he was apparently allowed to tear up his muzzle and sit in his own urine. I was so disgusted, not with the smell but of the lack of care of the facility, that I loaded the dog up anyway and got the heck out of there. I made the mistake of ignoring some of the negative reviews of this facility. I sincerely hope that others don't do the same. read more

STAY FAR AWAY ! VERY UNHAPPY ! We did a meet and greet prior and the place seemed good. When we were out of town I called to check in, left a voice mail. The man that runs the place called back 3hrs later and couldn't give me any information on my pet. He said he just took all the dogs out and they we're doing well. I asked specifically about how my dog was and he couldn't answer...Then proceeded to tell him his breed and coloring, assuming that would jog his memory but still couldn't give me any details... They treat them like cattle is what I got from that ! Today we picked him up and he smelled of STRONG urine and feces... and lost a extreme amount of weight! He was nice and muscular and now he is all bone. I can tell he didn't eat much because his food container is still very full after two weeks! If you love your pet then don't bring them here! read more

If I could give less of a rating it would be much deserved! We left our two small dogs with them while we went on a 12 day cruise out of the country. They had told us on arrival that one for the dogs had got what they said was a little rash. (Look at the photo) It is so bad! They never called us or any of the emergency contacts we left them. Both dogs beds were saturated in urine. To say they were in good care while in their custody is a far stretch of the truth. This facility is not what I was hoping for. We love these little dogs like family. No refunds were offered. I wouldn't leave a dead gold fish with them. Awfulness pure awefulness! read more

My husband and I boarded our little yorkie mix for the first time at All Breed Dog Boarding and were BEYOND pleasantly surprised. They gave us an unexpected walk through so we could see if it was a place we could trust. She is not a "dog friendly" dog however at the end of the three days we had to board her she had SEVERAL new friends! She is 14 years old so they placed all the senior dogs together and she did fine! If you are looking for very basic adequate care for your dog at low expense, this is your place. Be aware, however, that the only air conditioned area is for the small dogs (although the website only claims "the kennels" are air conditioned). But if you have a dog considered "not small", (probably any over about 25 pounds), and the dog is used to being well cared for, is not used to "eliminating" on concrete, and is used to getting walks and significant stimulation, this is NOT the place you want. My dog was only there about 24 hours, and was highly stressed on the way home; had to pee and long time when let out on the side of the road on our way home, and appeared to have held all her poop till she got in her own yard. I really doubt our dog got the promised "2 walks a day in their country property"; there is no dog group playtimes. The small dogs do get put several to a small air conditioned room, so I guess they get dog play, but the larger dogs get concrete dog runs cooled only by large fans. Personally, we are willing to pay a higher charge for better care care for our dog and will find a better boarding kennel next time. I cannot recommend this place. read more

We boarded our dog for the first time and first time at All Breed. I was pleasantly surprised that they have the dogs together most of the day. When we pulled up there were about 15 little dogs and 1 Sheppard running around a fenced grassy yard. All the dogs look like they were having a great time. There wasn't any poop, the grass looked well kept and free of anything the dogs would get into or get hurt. There was a human out there with them supervising. There are 3 large rooms the dogs stay in. Each room has kennels for sleeping (much like the size of the kennel our dog stays in every night at home). During the day the dogs have free roam of the room which also has a couch for lounging. Our dog hasn't had much interaction with other dogs and was told he did great and adjusted well to the others. They take the dogs out to play in the fenced in area a couple of times thorough out the day. We paid a little extra for a bath and grooming which they did right before we picked him up. Well, worth it since he would have been super smelly from playing outside for 7 days. Highly recommend if you have a small or big dog. read more

I have 2 chihuahuas that needed socialization. After a couple months of doggy day care, my dogs have become more friendly and approachable. This facility has one of the best set ups I've seen. Small dogs are separated from big dogs. Hyper dogs are separated from the more chill dogs. Beautiful outdoor doggie play areas. Take a tour. I did and it convinced me to give them a try. The staff is very accommodating but do call in if you are running late during the day as they are closed for the lunch hour. Great place to trust your dogs with. read more

First we toured the property and facilities and concluded that this was one of the cleanest facilities we had seen. We also liked the fact that they kept the large dogs in a separate location from the small dogs. We also liked the schedules that they had for the small dogs. Your dog has almost constant attention for 12 hours a day. We had been a little nervous about leaving our little Yorkie as he had no experience with other dogs even though he was 5 years old. We need not have been. When we returned 4 days later he was enjoying his socialization with his 20 other buddies. The only problem I could see is that now we have to take him back there for his vacation. read more

We have left our dogs at All Breed a number of times over the past several years for up to a week at a time, without any real problem. When our younger dog, Henry, was lunging at other dogs and seemed to need training, we talked to Matt Weiner, the owner. He suggested we leave Henry with him for two months, the first he would work with Henry intensively ("I will be the only one interacting with him," he told us), the second month he would teach us the training. Once a week, we spoke with Matt by phone and he assured us that everything was going smoothly. After a month, we tried to set up our first meeting, but Matt pushed it back several times; it ended up taking place 39 days in. When we arrived, Matt claimed to be sick (though he seemed fine) and pushed the training back again; we asked to see Henry and Matt (reluctantly?) agreed. We were shocked to see that Henry was skin and bones. There had been a mix-up in our feeding instructions and Henry had only been getting half of what we requested for 5 1/2 weeks. When we confronted Matt, he said this was not a big deal; he wanted us to leave Henry with him for another month. We pulled Henry out that day. It seemed obvious to us that one of two things was the case. Either Matt did not recognize that Henry was starving or (and this seems far more likely) he hadn't been working with him at all and therefore had no idea. We view this as extreme incompetence, dangerous, in fact, to our dog. We paid 650 dollars to have Henry locked in a cage and slowly starved. (Also, Google "Matt Weiner;" there is a federal lawsuit against him.) read more

There was even one time when I had to bring medication out for an injury my dog received prior to arriving and they were wonderful in making sure he got his eye drops when he needed them. We have boarded our dog here many times and they are EXCEPTIONAL! The kennel is located on a beautiful farm outside of Salem. Our dog is 30lb, so she stays with the small dogs. They have a room to themselves with several couches, as well as their crates. They get taken outside 5 or 6 times a day at least. Grooming is an available option there as well. Staff are incredibly friendly and obviously love the animals they are caring for. Most importantly, the cost is extremely affordable ($20 or so a night). I don't think anywhere else is even close to their price. I would recommend this place to anyone! read more

I was very happy with my experience here. I've never placed my dogs in a kennel before, but was visiting Oregon for the eclipse and the campsite we were staying at wouldn't allow dogs. So, I called All Breed Dog Boarding, and they put my mind at ease right away. Very friendly, and they cared for my dogs very well. Very disappointed with the way our dog was treated while in their care recently. We dropped off our dogs for their first time boarding with all the required comfort items, but unfortunately none of them were used. As required, we dropped off our dog Luke's bed for him to be able to sleep on, but based off his severe calleses on all of his joints, its apparent that they did give it to him and forced him to sleep on the hard cement the whole time. This is a great place to take your dog, big or small. They offer all the services and more importantly they love the animals that come there. Our dog acts like it is her home away from home. We have gone through their obedience training which was awesome for on leash and off leash. She gets boarded there several times a year and gets her nails clipped and a bath. They are very caring and work with the individual dog and family to help both be happy together. Our dog will jump a six foot dog run, so they are flexible and board her with the small dogs. read more

I agree with EVERYTHING Carl W. said below. The owner doesn't care about the dogs like he seems. The boarding kennels are completely unheated and not clean in the house part of the kennel, and usually without blankets. A lot of dogs will be there over Christmas in an unheated, uncared for kennel. The day care rooms are equally bad. Unsupervised, completely urine-soaked and molding. They allow dogs with flees in the day care rooms and infest all the dogs in the room, and then your once clean dog brings home flees. I can't stress enough how much I wouldn't recommend this place to bring any dog, big or small. read more

We arrived to drop our doggy off and the place smelled horrible! Not just like pet waste - more like something was dead. Further inspection showed that there was large amounts of pet waste (vomit, urine) in the kennel area. Not sure how often these get cleaned but it did not help the ambiance. We also heard an older man yelling (YELLING) at a little dog to come inside after being allowed outside. He was saying "I've told you five times!" to a little white shaggy dog - as though the dog spoke or understood English. I would not recommend this facility for dog boarding, even for a short stay. The star I'm giving it is only for the convenient location and reasonable price. In terms of service towards human customers and care for canine customers, we had a terrible experience. We did a tour of this facility before making a reservation. The staff person who conducted the tour was friendly and helpful, and the place seemed relatively clean. However, during our tour was we saw a loose dog roaming in the kennel area, which we pointed out to the staff person. She was obviously surprised, and immediately got the dog and returned him to his/her kennel. She explained that someone had not securely latched his kennel after cleaning. A red flag, for sure, but we gave them the benefit of the doubt because "mistakes can happen." We should have recognized that as a warning sign that careful attention is NOT a priority of the staff, but we made a reservation for the following month. Our dog stayed for 2 nights, less than 48 hours. Being super organized owners, we prepared her food by putting each meal in its own ziplock bag with her name written on it in large letters with a Sharpie. Four meals -- dinner the day of her arrival, breakfast and dinner the following day, and breakfast on the morning of her pick-up. When I picked her up, there was a great deal of confusion -- it took two staff people several minutes to gather her minimal belongings (leash, blanket), and when they returned them to me, they gave me one UNOPENED bag of food, saying: "You gave us too much food." I said I definitely did not -- it was four bags for four meals, but she still insisted it was my oversight. When I remained firm, she tossed out some other excuses, such as, "Some dogs get nervous and don't eat all their food while being boarded." I know this was not the case because if food is put in front of our dog, she inhales it. Also, it was obvious the baggie had not been opened (and if it had, I highly doubt staff would take the time to put uneaten food BACK into a ziplock bag and seal it up again!). When I continued to try to get a better explanation, she tried to blame it on the staff person working the afternoon we dropped our dog off, and finally shrugged me off saying, "We have over 40 dogs here -- we're busy." She clearly just wanted to get rid of me. I asked if there was someone I could speak to about this, and she told me I'd have to call the owner. When I finally got my dog from them (it took ages), we got into the car, and I immediately noticed she smelled very strongly of urine. My conclusion was that they forgot about her for part of a day (and one meal), including not hosing out her kennel space, and she walked in (or laid in) urine for some period of time. I did try to contact the owner, including sending a professional and calm email explaining my concerns, saying at the very least I wanted him to know the kind of dismissive attitude his staff had towards a customer, in case he wanted to address that (even though I would not be returning myself). I gave it some time (several weeks), but I received neither a phone call nor an email in response, which simply confirms that this is a business I would not support or recommend. As a customer, I deserved the courtesy of a response, and my dog deserved far better care (what if she had been a senior dog or had a medical condition where diet was vital? She missed 25% of her meals during a short stay!). I've been sharing this bad experience with everyone in my circle (we have a large number of dog-loving friends), but I decided to document it here so others could have our experience as a reference. read more
