I found an add on Kijiji and then went out to do more research on Homestars.com. All of their reviews were top-notch, so I decided to give them a call. I called them the same day as I needed help, and to my surprise they actually were able to come out in a few hours to help. They arrived on time and were super quick - in-and-out. My stuff was handled professionally and carefully (mostly). The price that was quoted to me is what I paid, and they didn't try to upcharge me on anything. Moving is very stressful and we had a few extra challenges to deal with. A tight budget coupled with an extremely heavy & bulky electric adjustable bed, and a delicate teak hutch & buffet made us pretty nervous about choosing a decent mover. Thankfully Zaid came through for us. He showed up exactly on time with his two helpers and they got to work right away. They were friendly, polite and asked all the right questions. No wasted time or complaints about the heavy bed, either. Unloading was also nicely uneventful and the men laid out runners to protect our flooring. So far we haven't found any damages to our house or stuff. We paid in cash and there were no hidden fees. At the time of our booking it was $95/hr plus a $160 travel fee. We were able to calculate and budget easily and came in right around our expected cost when it was all done. We did move a lot of the little things by car in the weeks prior, though. That's why our move from downtown Toronto to West Mississauga was so short! 10am-2pm. I would definitely use these guys again (and probably will, considering the type of business I am in!)

When we moved our things in we, unfortunately, had the mishap of having 2 boxes that were left outside our unit. We received a phone call from them the next day saying we had two boxes that had remained in the hallway. I was grateful and thank them but and let them know that I was in between Montreal and Toronto and not back for another 3 weeks only when I returned I was informed that they had thrown away my boxes. I was absolutely stunned and frankly devastated because the value of the boxes was very important and precious to me. I was offered no compensation and was told that the management doesn't want them to keep anything for customers. And that the cleaning crew threw out my two boxes. That is obviously not what they did with the boxes. I stayed for a full year in their establishment in despite this since most my things were already there. I offered a reward to get my things back but obviously never got them back.

Immediately i reported the crime, i waited for the police for 3 hours than they called me and said let's have an officer come another day because they were busy...wtf. So i turned towards the manager for help to further investigate the surveillance and hectic i will sit and watch the videos with them. They said, "NO!" and i also knew they weren't going to do anything after i left... FML i lost over $30k worth of photography equipments and Storagemart and Police did not give a fk. I knew i wasn't getting back the items i worked 3 years to purchase. Storagemart had mandatory insurance all customers must purchase. As much as i didn't care about $1400 i was supposed to receive from insurance because it was such a small return to what i had lost, it was at least something to help me start from scratch. Eventually after talking to the insurance for few days they finally got back to me for how much i will get getting. They said, "Hey you will receive $0 because there were no forced break in or no damages." You can tell the person is used to saying that because she had no emotions and was straight blunt about it.... This was hard for me to write down and remember not just because i was robbed but the police who we should be able to depend on in this situation and the storage company who was in charge, both weren't willing to help at all or even willing to let me help them either. That's how i knew my products were gone and there was nothing i could do but this write this and move on.

Booked this company for a two day move with one day overnight storage. Moving out our old condo on…read moreMonday to move into our new condo the next day on Tuesday because we were getting the keys to our new place on Tuesday instead of Monday. Monday's move out went seamless. The movers showed up on time, wrapped all our fragile items and finished the move so quick. Friendly and efficient! Tuesday comes and the lawyers and banks and mortgage company are being so slow in the real estate transaction. We had booked our move for Tuesday in the new place from 3pm to 6pm. Because clearly we'll get the keys by then....WRONG The movers came to the loading dock of the new building and started unloading meanwhile we still didn't have the keys! We explained the situation to our movers and they said they'd unload and fill the service elevator and loading dock so when we get they keys we'll be ready to move! It's now 6pm and the sellers lawyer of our new condo couldn't release the keys because our down payment for the new place from the sale from our old place didn't get to the sellers bank account in time. Since we didn't get the keys the movers had to put all our items back into the truck from the loading docks and take it back to storage. The moving company called and said sorry for this chaos we're only charging you half the price of our storage fees and we can come back and deliver your items the next day in the evening. So now it's Wednesday, the third day of this real estate transaction. 8am goes by, 9am goes by, 10am goes by. Finally just after 10am the lawyer gets us the lockbox combination to access the keys for our new condo. Meanwhile, I'm frantically calling our new building management all morning because they didn't have any timeslots available for the service elevator and if we didn't move our things in that day on Wednesday with the movers the next available timeslot was SUNDAY. I finally get a hold of our condo building management and they gave us the permission to move in later and that they would notify our security to book the service elevator for us. The movers come back in the evening to attempt to move us again into our new condo and we're unloading into the loading dock and we are ready to move our items upstairs finally!! BUT NOWWWWWW..... because why not... The service elevator stopped working. And one elevator is already broken. So now there's only one elevator with a huge line up to get upstairs. And of course, we couldn't shut that elevator down for our move. The security called a tech to come out to fix the service elevator for us and the movers were so chill and so nice and waited with us over an hour for it to be fixed. Also, the company sent three people for this condo move just to move us and make it go as fast as possible because we're already moving in past 6pm (the cutoff time for moving in to our new condo).  Now it's around 8:30pm/9pm and the service elevator started working and we're finally moving in! So, basically hire this company and you will not regret your decision!! Hands down the best in the city!! Thank you The Six Moving for everything!!!

I asked a few simple questions and was talked to like an idiot (you know who i am and you know i didn't say anything to provoke you.) . Like i should have researched and knew everything before hand. Was very condescending and rude. Went to the Alden location and was treated very well. I was given all the information and shown the whole facility with a smile. they got my business right away :). Keep up the bad customer service ! You wont get any business. Ill be sharing this with everyone i know.
