The radon fan in our 2-year-old home was screeching. Since the home warranty was up (not the fan warranty, but that's a separate issue), and I haven't had great experiences with using original sub-contractors in the past, I searched and chose ACRM - not the original installer. They took a LOT of information over the phone, and the tech was actually slightly early for the appointment. He said he had no idea why it was dying, but that the fan company should honor the warranty. However, we live in a fairly high radon area and I didn't want to wait a couple of weeks - according to the warranty doc I have - for a new fan. I asked for a quote, he gave me a fair one (I had already researched prices beforehand), and did the work in about 20 minutes. There were no extras, no add-ons. He left behind a radon test kit and explained how to use it in one week to ensure all is in working order and how to contact them in case it wasn't. The tech was very good with my overly-friendly puppies, careful to make as little mess as possible, and cleaned up what there was. I just received the results of my radon test after All Colorado Radon installed a mitigation system. Prior to installation my radon levels were 4.8, after the system was installed my most recent test showed a level of 2.7. I was most impressed with All Colorado because they sent a person who examined my situation and made a recommendation. Another company, highly reviewed, made an off-site bid which as initially lower than All Colorado, but when I shared the All Colorado recommendation they raised their estimate several hundred $ higher than All Colorado. Although Beau came out to put my estimate together, they weren't the best price estimate I received, Beau was very nice and knowledgeable. However, I still chose this company to install my vapor barrier. Appointment was scheduled, then come the day of installation, no one showed up! No call, in fact, I actually called 3 times during the appointment window, (called the sales guy) and text and never received a call back. Called the office next day and they said "someone called and left a message a week before" the appointment. Searched my VM system, and I didn't have a message. Regardless of the VM, in this day and age you think someone would have tried a time or two after the 1st attempt made, as they state. Email, text would have been a competent resolution if you want the business. Apparently they don't need new business. I'll be going with another company now obviously. read more

Fantastic and professional. All Colorado Radon Mitigation was able to reduce my radon from 16 pci/l to 0.7 pci/l. I measured the radon levels with an electronic sensor I purchased and confirmed the results with the physical media test kits you mail in to labs. All Colorado Radon installed a mitigation for us back in the Fall. Ours was a tricky job involving multiple levels on slab. We reviewed, many many bids to try to ensure the system would mitigate our entire house at a reasonable cost. We felt most comfortable with All Colorado Radon in terms of fully understanding the scope of the project and being able to reach a complete solution. They installed the system in the garage attic so it is out of sight. Six months later, I can say that the system is working great and they have been a pleasure to work with. We even called them on a warranty issue (which ended up being not their fault, a dead battery in a skylight near where the system was installed) and they quickly sent out an electrician. I would certainly use them again in the future and recommend to all our friends! read more

I don't ever take the time to write reviews. This experience was remarkable enough that I'm making an exception. We scheduled an appointment for today (6Dec2019) approximately 3 weeks ago. Today the tech was an hour late and, when he called (the tech never actually made it to the house) stated he was unable to make it up the road into the neighborhood. He was stuck in a 2 wheel drive van. I offered to go pick said tech up in a 4 wheel drive truck, help him load his equipment into the truck and bring him to the house. I drove out to meet him at which time he informed me that in fact his boss had told him to reschedule and because he wasn't sure exactly what diameter pipe he would need- Radon is a complicated business apparently. The obvious answer is to put both potentially required sections of pipe in the bed of the full size truck I was driving. But alas. The tech at this time informed me that they had 4 wheel drive trucks. He just didn't drive one. He also informed my wife he'd been stuck the day before. The lack of planning here was astounding. Find another company actually capable of simple foresight and management. Like- "I'm going to evergreen, I've looked at the address, it's below freezing, there's snow on the ground, I'm in Colorado so I know better than to be the dumbass stuck on the side of the road in a 2 wheel drive van in 22 degrees because of ice." I do not want anyone working on my house this incapable of managing and executing on simple tasks. read more

I really dislike having to write a negative review, but I think it's important to let people know when a business simply doesn't do the job. I bought a very old home in central Denver that had very high levels of radon - the inspection report was in the 10.x range. In lieu of fixing it, the sellers gave a $1k at closing. I was referred to All Colorado by a real-estate agent, and Ben gave a bid for 3/4 of that to fix it. This is the first time I've ever dealt with radon in a home, so the bid and brief description of work sounded plausible. The installer came out a week later, jack-hammered a hole in the corner of my basement (to access the ground under the slab), installed a PVC pipe into it and through the wall, then the air pump and external pipe. I waited a few months afterwards, then had my basement re-tested for radon levels several times - readings were between 9.5 and 8.8, which is over double the EPA-recommended max level (4.0). The air-pump was running continuously, 24/7, but it clearly wasn't helping in any useful way. My house would be nearly un-sell-able without getting this fixed. All Colorado Radon purportedly guarantees the performance of their work for at least a year - I have the guarantee document with the final invoice. After leaving multiple messages on voicemail and getting no callback, I assume they were not interested in returning to actually fix the installation and justifying the $750 spent. I hired a second radon mitigation specialist who pointed out numerous specific, fixable issues in ACRM's work: - The hole going into and below the concrete slab literally stopped about an inch into the dirt, just below the bottom of the concrete. For the system to work well, the hole should be dug at least a foot below the slab, and preferable 2-3 feet, to achieve real air movement and suction. The second technician pointed out that the suction level (on the small thermometer-style indicator) was not very high at all). - The exhaust pipe outside, above the pump, was not the usual recommended PVC. ACRM's installer simply installed a painted metal rain gutter attached above the pump with a plastic adapter - this will not wear as well outdoors as PVC, and will need replacing much earlier. - The external exhaust pipe was only about 12 feet up - regulations specify that the external exhaust pipe should go all the way to the house's roof-line, to prevent exhaust air from re-entering the house. - There is a large crawl-space in my basement that is walled-off. The subsequent mitigation specialist I hired stated that most of the radon is surely coming from the crawl-space into the finished part of the basement, so just the pump by itself would be almost completely ineffective. (It was fixed by the second tech by going into the crawl-space (from an outside access) and lining the ground in the space with thick plastic, and adding a pump line by the basement ceilng to the crawl-space to exhaust air in there as well.) Summary: ACRM did a quick, indifferent job that actually made no real difference in radon levels at all, and they don't seem to care about doing good work or the result. Incidentally, I see a lot of reviews of radon mitigation specialists by rental-property owners that seem short on specific, material results - I'd guess they aren't as interested in the actual results as simply checking off a line-item as having "radon mitigation" completed on a property as to make it attractive to renters. (And I have met rental-property managers who have told me "radon really isn't a thing".) read more

From fast returned phone calls, calling ahead to letting you know they can come early or they might be a couple of mins late, their communication is appreciated. Their equipment even reads out the radon levels right on the spot and they show you the numbers so you can do your research if you want. In our Meadows home it was recommended that we needed to mitigate by this company, but in our next home in Terrain, Ben said my levels are so low there is no reason to mitigate.
