If you're actively searching for asbestos removal companies, you're probably a little stressed out right now. I was in the same boat about a week ago after the company that came out to clean out our A/C ducts discovered some decomposing asbestos tape in one of our ducts. I actually contacted Asbestos Abatement, Inc based on their 5-star Yelp! Review, and I'm glad that I did. Their response to my initial inquiry was lightning quick and owner Joel was willing to trade some texts w/photos to give him an initial idea of what was going on before sending someone out for a consult the following day. I did try to contact an asbestos testing company that to this day hasn't called me back - Joel recommended that I confirm the tape had asbestos before I committed to paying removal rates, which I found impressive since he potentially could have lost the job going this route. After visual inspection of the tape, we all agreed it was 99% likely to be asbestos and they had a formal quote to me by the end of the day which I was able to DocuSign. The team came out this morning and removed all of the contaminated A/C ducts after sufficiently sealing off all the affected areas, etc. After completion, they do a final test to ensure that the house has a clean bill of health. Everyone who came out to the house today was punctual, professional, friendly, and efficient. I honestly hope I never have to deal with an asbestos issue again - but if I do - it's this company, all the way. I had a sewer line backup into my basement and during the water remediation portion of it we found it tested hot for Asbestos. The company doing the water cleanup on the floor, New Season Restoration, recommended and coordinated with this asbestos company (as they could not remove it due to the Asbestos). Joel with Asbestos came out and to give me an estimate was very courteous and professional. After the work was authorized by State Farm, the staff that came out with co-owner Bob was very friendly and professional as well. No complaints there. After the job was completed and the staff had left, I noticed 2 pieces of drywall that had gotten wet from the gray water (you could also see the water stain) yet they hadn't been removed. Additionally these pieces were NOT on any edges of where the damage had occurred. In fact, one of the two pieces was skipped over, but both sides of it was removed. The second piece was in an area where there was drywall on both pieces of the 2x4s, and the exterior piece was cut, but not the interior piece, even though it had become wet with the bacteria water too. To make a long story short, I contacted Bob to come out and look at those two pieces as I did not understand why they would have been skipped. He came out and felt that the job had been completed sufficiently - that the two pieces were too difficult to reach and cut, and the fact they had been damaged by the gray water was not a concerning as the pieces would be out of site. I did not agree with this answer so I called New Season Restoration to get their professional opinion. They came out and agreed that because the drywall had been damaged and had bacteria, that it should have been removed. They took it upon themselves to remove it (these pieces did not have Asbestos), and the job only took 10 minutes to complete. On top of that, they did not charge me. I was disappointed in the lack of resolution with Asbestos Abatement. read more

This is a very positive review. This is a big deal considering how bad the situation could have been. While buying a new house our home inspector found some asbestos bearing pannels in the crawlspace along the ductwork. Asbestos Abatement sent a representative to see how much material there was and to give us an estimate to remove it. When Joel and his team came out to remove the asbestos pannels they discovered that their guy missed several other panels and it would actually be a 2 day job. I was very concerned that this would blow the estimate and I would be on the hook for 3x the cost. Joel, to his credit, said he would honor the original bid. His team came out and was very professional and thorough. The job turned out to be very complicated and went from 2 days to 4. It only took this long because they were doing everything "by the book" and the space was difficult to setup. Again, I was concerned that the extra days would come out of my pocket but Joel and Bob honored the original quote. I chose the Asbestos Abatement team because they had very positive reviews; I can tell you there is a reason. If you have asbestos to be removed go with these guys or at least let them bid.
