Late last night, our pup who has cancer suddenly started seizing repeatedly and we knew it was time to let her go. The closest ER is 50 minutes away so I thought I'd try Dr. Weinberg. He picked up the phone without even a hello. But a "yes?".I told him it was an emergency and he then proceeded to tell me to call back at 9am. When I tried to explain he responded "uh call back tomorrow evening?" I understand that he has office hours and won't make accommodations after hours but stating you're available 24/7 on your site is a lie. Also, the nonchalance, non apologetic, unsympathetic tone made a terrible situation, worse. I can't imagine what type of compassion and care he'd have for animals if this was his tone towards an emergent euthanasia request.
